September holiday

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, we (Thuringians) made it our mission to visit all the federal states that we had not been able to visit before. We tried to get to know the Saarland (nature and sights) and also some tours in the border triangle intensively in one week and captured lasting impressions in pictures and friendly memories - except for the city of Merzig in general and especially with 3 "Strafzeztteln" which arrived at home before us. We were highly satisfied with the cosy accommodation in the rustic farmhouse and with the hospitality of the Schmitt family. Our two fur children DSH "Bruno and dachshund lady "Elli"" also felt very comfortable. They and we also quickly had friendly contact with the family dog "Ari". From the place you have a convenient starting point to the beautiful surroundings and the other sights and the border triangle. A cosy restaurant that is open during the week is unfortunately missing - but we can highly recommend the cosy restaurant that is open on three days from 6 pm with its excellent culinary cuisine and surprises.

Quiet and cosy holiday home in village idyll

We spent a relaxing, quiet holiday in a beautiful, functionally equipped holiday home. The Schmitt family is very nice and helpful. The village of Rimlingen is an ideal starting point for walks in the countryside, on well-signposted paths and cycle tours through the surrounding villages, Losheim am See, Merzig, Mettlach and along the Saar. We would love to come back again.

Very relaxing marriage days

As a couple, we deliberately looked for a time-out where we could talk and relax, both in a holiday flat and while hiking and experiencing things together. We succeeded very well and the accommodation as well as the Schmitt family contributed a lot to this.
We had peace and time to ourselves, the hiking trails in the area are very beautiful, the natural swimming pool in Weiskirchen was a great place to cool off and the people in the area were very nice.

Very nice holiday flat in a top location. Easy to reach, quiet and many hiking possibilities in the immediate vicinity. Very nicely furnished and everything you need is there. The landlords are very nice and helpful. Shopping service was free and we were satisfied with the selected products. We were given homemade jam as a gift. All in all, a super short holiday and highly recommended.

Pure relaxation in the most beautiful farmhouse in Germany.

We were three people for a week in this beautiful, stylishly furnished farmhouse, located in the "Hinterhof" of the Schmitt family's residence. Our hosts were extremely warm and uncomplicated, so we immediately felt comfortable and stayed longer than planned. The apartment leaves nothing to be desired! It is high-quality equipped and above all clean. Especially the underfloor heating scored big with us :)
Outside, there is a beautiful terrace with plenty of greenery and the occasional cuddly animal that crosses your path. There is also direct access from the village to some premium hiking trails.
In my opinion, there is something for everyone here, and the personal touch that the Schmitt family gives to their holiday apartment invites you to linger and return.

Little Paradise in Saarland

Beautiful small house with a great atmosphere. Excellent equipment: dishwasher and washing machine, finest tableware, tastefully decorated with high-quality furniture. The spacious outdoor seating area with wild vines in beautiful nature is an oasis of tranquility - we felt like in Tuscany. Host Frank spoiled us with homemade jam and apple juice. Thank you for the lovely time. Losheimer Stausee, Wolfspark, fine dining, hiking opportunities - all nearby.

Stay at Ferienwohnung - Mr.Schmitt

Although we stayed only for 2 days, we felt as if we are at home. The apartment is excellent, very clean, spacious and filled with all possible amenities that one would need...Mr. Schmitt, his wife and his family are very freindly, helpful and good natured. We had a long chat with them. We would definitely visit again if possible, this time for a longer duration. Its value for money as well. Thanks for the comfortable stay.

Wunderschön

A place to feel good: A great holiday cottage, the environment is beautiful, and the Schmitts with their "animal companions" are nice hosts. Nothing was missing, the furnishings are more than complete. Our children (10 and 12 years old) also liked it very much. Highly recommended!

Only the stairs to the bedroom are very borderline.

free time activities: Freizeit- und Ausflugmöglichkeiten für jeden Geschmack. Besonders empfehlenwert: Oppig-Grät-Wanderung mit Start vom Domizil aus und Römisches Mosaik in Nennig.

shopping facilities: Zum Bäcker ist's nur ein Katzensprung. Extra-Empfehlung: Der Bioladen im Ort. Der "Schwarze Wenzel" ist einmalig lecker...

We really enjoyed our short break. The beds were already made when we arrived, which I found great. The cottage is very cozy, the location is beautifully idyllic. A restaurant in the nearby area would have been nice.
