We had a lovely time at this chalet! The BBQ on the terrace was a great addition for our evening meals, The garden furniture was comfortable, making it a nice spot to relax, The overall ambiance was peaceful and rejuvenating,

Upon arrival, it was already disturbing. The holes in the driveway were so deep that the bottom of the car scraped through the gravel (not a lowered or heavily loaded car). Then up the entire steep driveway, and there we were greeted with a terrace that had seen better days. Garden furniture was everywhere with soaking wet cushions, it was broken, and where it appears to be light rattan in the photos, this stuff doesn't come close. Weeds were everywhere, and on the side of the house, the complete rooftop terrace was stacked up. The stairs visible in the photos are no longer in place but lie on the ground because all the woodwork has rotted. The leaf cover from last autumn is still there, so in our eyes, the gardener/concierge has not been here this year. So yes, all in all, the holiday started on a down note. There was then no one present from whom we could receive the key while they knew what time we would arrive. Upon entering, we were greeted by the pool table. Only this pool table is 1/3 of a normal table with a whole and a broken cue. This is really the theme throughout the whole house. Everything is just not quite right or it's broken or things are missing. Now, I am not someone who likes to complain, but for almost €6000, I expected more. A kitchen where the only sharp knife is a bread knife and other sharp knives seem to have been used for weeds. The refrigerator door was destroyed on the inside so you can't put anything in it anymore. It was also as if it had just been turned on because it was still warm inside. The kitchen cabinets had not been checked by the cleaners since the jar of pickles with an expiration date of 2024 was almost overflowing from the cabinet. The dishwasher was not empty and there were dirty pots in the kitchen cabinets. After checking the living room where a worn-out dirty couch is (which feels like there is sand on it), we went to the bedrooms. We passed through the hallway, where the Christmas decorations are still hanging above the door and on the banister, which by the way is also broken. Although the bedrooms looked fairly tidy, we discovered during the vacation that the mattresses differ in height per bed half and that the bed in room 3 is so slanted (with the head end down) that you wake up with a headache. Furthermore, the furniture in the bedrooms is defective or even broken. Also, the shower rooms, as mentioned in previous reviews, smell like sewage. This is not resolved simply by letting some water run, but this happened every day again. These are also quite cramped in different rooms. To give an example: you open a shower cabin and with the door you hit either the toilet or the door, this because it is really crammed together. The smell is so bad that if you leave a shower door open and are away for an afternoon, you are greeted by the sewer smell upon your return. By the way, putting a couple of rolls of toilet paper in the house is also a good idea since you can only check in between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM and the stores close at 6:00 PM. Maybe a small welcome gift like a pack of coffee is also a good idea for people like us who had to travel over 4 hours. If you want to do laundry, there is a nice washing machine on the ground floor, but after reading the manual that is for a dryer, you have to figure it out with that thing yourself. Drying your clothes becomes a problem if you haven't brought a drying rack/drying lines, as these are not present. You will have to do this on the garden furniture or the balustrade in the hall. Because the refrigerator in the kitchen is actually too small for a house of 15 people (we were with 7), a refrigerator was placed in the hallway to the back door; however, the problem here is that despite the refrigerator working well, you can't see anything in the evening because the lighting in the hallway is not working and the refrigerator has no lighting. And now the swimming pool. When we entered the swimming pool area, we wondered who had set off a bomb there. Half of the ceiling is missing or broken, the swimming water was so murky that we wondered how many bottles of milk had been thrown in since we couldn't see the bottom, and when we then felt how warm the swimming water was, chills ran down our backs. The pool was not covered, which was stated on the sign of the rules, so we thought that’s why the water is cold, so we put the cover over the pool, but unfortunately, the cover didn’t even cover a quarter of the pool and was now floating in the middle and didn’t touch any side. In later contact, we were absolutely not allowed to cover it according to the owner, while it was indeed on the sign. Now we were quite disappointed! We had been in the house for less than 15 minutes and the happy faces had disappeared. So with renewed courage, we decided to check out the sauna. According to the photos, it was a fresh space that easily accommodated 6 people, but reality came around the corner; the highest bench was completely missing with the mounting material still hanging on the wall (which is quite sharp), the bottom bench was not properly secured, and the inside looked as if the fire department had just finished extinguishing a fire. The wooden floor and all accessories are missing. The stove is so crooked that you are almost afraid it will tip over and the control panel is taped over. You can only turn it on or off, and you may use it between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Then the shower from the pool. The hot water tap is immovable and ice-cold water flows out. The sensor that controls the lighting of the entire room is so loose that it hangs down; however, after 2 days of swimming in the dark, we only found this out then, because the light switch that we thought we had to use to control the light was so often secured with silicone sealant to its switch that it had fallen off in the meantime and the switch did nothing. Then we looked at the upper terrace where the barbecue is. After all, we already had meat in the cooler for the barbecue. When we saw the furniture, which by the way has no cushions, we realized that there were at least two chairs that are life-threatening. They look okay, but when you sit on them, you end up on the ground with all the injuries that come with it. The tables have sagged and are under a former swing set. The barbecue was a big mess. The waste from the previous guests was still under the barbecue/outdoor kitchen. The grills were so bent and dirty that you couldn't use them anymore because they didn't fit, not to mention all the ash and sticky mess on and around the floor of the barbecue area. We haven't been there at all during the entire vacation. So all in all, a very big disappointment worth €6000. For problems/complaints you can contact the concierge according to the documentation; this person does not exist or has gone up in smoke since we have never spoken to, seen, or heard from them. When we finally had contact with the owner about the bath (which was a plus for us), the manager was supposed to be sent, but this turned out to be the coordinator of the cleaning who then spun a *** story about the temperature and the dirtiness of the bath because that would be normal. She then started messing around in the filter room of the pool, and that should have solved the problem. Not so, because then the pool seemed to be about to overflow. So we got in touch again because the pool was still cold or fuller and cleaner. This all happened before the weekend, so it made sense that sending a company or the concierge was difficult. But on Tuesday, Phil's Pool came by. We were not aware of this and were therefore not home, but luck had it that one of our guests wanted to stay home for a walk, so we’ll say fortunate in misfortune. Phil managed to say that he would be ready in 5 minutes, but he has certainly been at it for 45 minutes with all luck because the pool got warm (very warm) and did what it was supposed to do. However, in 2 days we would be going home again. The whole house is worth half of what they are asking for it. It is not clean (you can barely see through the windows) and everything is just not quite right. We have understood from neighbors that there have been quite rowdy vandalistic people living there in recent years, and this is certainly visible, as it seems like nothing has been fixed in years. The food in the area, especially Les Sources (hotel/restaurant), is great. Daniel and Eve welcomed us very hospitably. With very good food, a homely atmosphere, but still a professional and friendly attitude. You have to keep in mind that if you want to eat somewhere or do something, you must reserve everything in advance. That's how it works in this area. What may also be worth mentioning in the listing. In short, you pay for a house that looks very beautiful and appealing in the photos (from years ago), but you get an average vacation home that is worn out. The facilities indicated are damaged or not working properly. Reaching people to solve problems is not easy due to the language barrier since you are answered in Dutch, German, and French, so it is best to translate everything into French. Although the listing seems quite extensive, there are still many things missing, for example, the lack of clarity about what you need to bring yourself and that there is no one present during check-in and check-out. The house could also use some decoration and attention both inside and outside. I must add that when they responded, they did try to provide a solution, but because you also don't want to come across as a complainer and we wanted to enjoy our vacation, we just stopped mentioning the problems, which we had brought up with the cleaning coordinator, and they would do something about it. She did mention that it was also difficult for her to reach the owner and that he/she was already aware of many problems. She was kind enough to give us 2 new grills (from the large stack) for the bbq, so this problem is something that happens much more often. Nevertheless, we had a nice vacation. It is a great area with friendly people, but I will never book this house again. Even if the price were halved.

A great retreat! The property is surrounded by beautiful forests, and the walking paths were a nice surprise. The sauna and the pool were perfect for relaxing after our outdoor adventures. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

We had a fantastic family outing to this chalet! The private indoor pool was a hit with the kids, and the sauna was a great way for the adults to relax after a long day of hiking. The surrounding forests are beautiful, perfect for our morning walks. Highly recommended!
