"Former monastery house, a stone house on the north coast of Crete overlooking the bay and the hamlet of Elounda, just 15 minutes walk from the beach. The rustic holiday home is located in the village of Mavrikiano. The apartment has been carefully renovated and the stone walls with arches create a unique atmosphere. From the terrace you have a magnificent view of the Gulf of Mirabello and Elounda. Thanks to the existing outdoor kitchen, you can comfortably eat together here.
The sandy beach and the village of Elounda are around 15 minutes away (approx. 1 km). Elounda is located on the Mirabello Gulf and offers a beautiful coastline with sandy and rocky beaches and nature with almond and olive trees. Excursion boats depart from Elounda for the island of Spinalonga with its impressive Venetian fort.
This area also offers many opportunities for hikers, for example a coastal walk from Elounda to Placa (approx. 5 km). It is around 75 km to Heraklion Airport.

The house we booked and paid for does not exist. The photos in the advertisement are a "best of" various houses that the landlord offers. On-site, there is only a "caretaker" who pretends to speak only Greek. We insisted on our booking and, with a lot of negotiation skill, managed to move into a house after one night in a substitute accommodation that roughly corresponds to the description. That cost us a day of vacation. In between, we were even threatened with the cancellation of the booking. Supposedly, we will get one night refunded. We don't believe that. Locals have informed us that this is the usual practice. Today, a French family arrived, and they seem to have similar problems. In summary, this is fraud. In case of objection, there is a threat of cancellation. Very unpleasant, we are traveling with children and are only reporting this now. We are concerned that the landlord will kick us out of the accommodation if he hears about our criticism. The accommodation is in poor condition: refrigerator defective, hardly any dishes (a total of four plates, cups, one pot), no dish towels. Electrical issues, open wires hanging from the walls, toilet seat broken, overall the accommodation appears rundown. The handrail of the outside stairs is broken, which is life-threatening. This applies to both accommodations we had to get to know. Please check which landlords you include on your platform. We request feedback and are considering legal action.

We had a wonderful stay here! The view from the terrace took our breath away, especially during sunset. The pool was a much-appreciated luxury after a day of sightseeing.

This place had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to easily prepare meals, and the fireplace was a cozy touch for the cooler evenings.

We felt very welcomed by the owners, and the apartment was impeccable upon our arrival, just a few steps from the beach, and we enjoyed the local shops and markets.
