Very beautiful exteriors, very pleasant with a lovely little house and a large, enclosed, tree-filled, and very well-maintained garden. The interior, unfortunately, is the opposite of the exteriors. Everything is dusty, filthy, sticky. The cleaning lady must be on strike or on long-term illness (very, very long illness!!!). All the Teflon coatings on the pans and pots are very damaged, so they are carcinogenic and should be thrown away. Difficult to cook with the only usable stainless steel cooking utensil. In the kitchen, no storage possible for our food items. In the living room, two pieces of furniture, one inaccessible because it's stuck behind the sofa and the other with drawers overflowing with useless things. The television reception was terrible. It felt like watching scrambled channels. The remote control is out of order. Regarding the welcome, we just received a text message before our arrival to inform us that the key was on the front door. "Hello and figure it out!!!" However, a nice gesture was waiting for us on the table: cider and regional cakes. For that: Thank you. We regret not having had any verbal exchange with the owners. Some information about the house, shops like mussel producers, market days, etc. would have been appreciated. For the departure: Nobody!!! and nothing! With a MINIMUM OF RESPECT for your hosts, the whole could offer exceptional potential. What a shame! TO AVOID

Beautiful well-insulated quiet cottage with a large fenced garden. Only the sound of chickens, peacocks, and birds can be heard. No light pollution, so a beautiful starry sky when it is clear. The cottage is fine for 2 people but really too cramped for 4. The beds are very good and the bedrooms are well darkened so you sleep wonderfully. Wifi is great. The bathroom clearly needs a major renovation/cleaning, especially the shower cabin needs maintenance. Taking a shower is quite pleasant with a nice water jet and good warm water. A car is definitely needed because it is located in the countryside, but here you are centrally located to explore the entire Cotentin, and you will definitely need a week for that. There is plenty of documentation in the house. Beds are made and towels are available. Upon arrival, a welcome package is ready for you, and the trust is so great that you can just walk in; the key is in the door. In short: if you look past the mediocre cleaning and the maintenance-needing shower cabin, you have a wonderful vacation at this unique spot near Saint Mère Eglise. We had a very nice week there.

The bakery is very different: the garden is well-maintained, great for the dogs, and you sit very nicely and out of sight from neighbors. The house is very cramped on the ground floor and partly not really clean (surfaces clean, but the corners and angles with a lot of dust and cobwebs), the beds a bit saggy, the bathroom is okay. The seating is not (anymore) very comfortable and the kitchen is the biggest drawback. Hardly any space to store food or to cut something. The cupboard where the dishes and cutlery are stored is really unpleasant, as it smells musty/moldy, probably because the house is not heated during the cooler months. The bakery has a lot of charm and the rent is cheap, and the dogs don't cost anything extra, but the interior design leaves a mixed overall impression.

We received a friendly welcome and the landlords were very helpful. The house really has everything and the garden is great. Our dogs had a nice run. The beds slept well and you can completely darken all the windows.

We have been to this house several times. In May 2016, and in May and September 2018, and now in September 2023 for the 4th time. (Read the relevant reviews from those years) We actually have nothing more to add to this. Peace, privacy, and a friendly owner, and a large enclosed garden, where the dog cannot normally leave. As usual, we enjoyed it extremely well, otherwise we would not be here for the 4th time.

House with a lot of privacy, large private grounds, also suitable for small dogs as the garden has a good fence. The terrace at the house provides shade in the afternoon. Lots of convenience in the kitchen, everything is present and also functions. Beds are very well maintained including memory foam mattress. Supermarket U plus drive is 4.7 km away with refueling facilities. The vet is next to the supermarket. Friendly welcome. Dutch spoken.

The arrival was fine, by means of an email we knew that the key of our house would be in the door and we had to feel at home. After having slept for 1 night and recovering from the trip, we discovered that the house was certainly not clean, there were spider rags everywhere, these were certainly not one day old, it was so bad that my husband was with him head went through. Dead flies were stuck to the lamp above the table in the room. Lots of dust everywhere, not a good dry-mat, which made the rug very wet, and certainly not to be called clean. There was a large gap between the fridge and the kitchen counter where all food scraps or whatever could fall between them. This was also the case between the sink and the stove. A window was missing from the cupboard where crockery stood here, too, thick dust strung. It was good to see that no dust had been collected for some time. What surprised me / us the most is that there was a huge supply of cleaning items in cupboards? Furthermore, the mattresses are definitely due for replacement, in 1 bed you lie on the floor after an hour. Fortunately Normandy is beautiful, we have seen a lot and enjoyed nature. What a beautiful part of France.

We had already heard from the owner via e-mail that the key was in the door. A nice welcome gift in the form of 2 special D-Day 75-year beers with a bag of caramel sweets was very thoughtful! The next day I met the super nice owners. The cottage was lovely and simple, but everything you needed was there. On the 1st floor 2 spacious bedrooms with good blinding, so that it was "pitch dark at night. We found it very pleasant. There is a private lockable gate to completely close off the huge piece of fenced ground. Lovely for our dog. The very large grounds for the chickens, 2 geese and a funny peacock it was super fun to watch and listen to when you were eating outside on the terrace, went to the large beach of Utahbeach a few times and swam in the warm! visited the town of St. Mère Église and nearby Pointe du Hoc with its high cliffs and the beautiful blue sea (where dogs are not allowed) and the remains of Atlantic Wal, the bunkers and places where the German tanks super impressive. It is definitely a place to return to! We enjoyed this holiday home, the large piece of land and the crowing of the rooster! An absolute must !!

Great house with a huge garden. Nobody in the neighborhood who is bothering you. We are used to bringing a lot of things (how often have you already bought and left detergent?), But that turned out to be completely unnecessary. There is really a lot present. Bad luck on the way there made us arrive late in the evening, but that was no problem at all. The owner, who lives next door, stopped by the next day, as the key was simply on the door upon arrival. In the dark the house was a bit harder to find, because there is no street lighting and it is really in the countryside. This is the first time that we are considering going back to the same place again! Really had a great holiday. Our dog all the way !! Free in a large enclosed garden and also allowed to go loose on the beach.

When we contacted to arrange the arrival, the owner turned out to be on holiday. The keys were left for us on the inside of the front door. We did not meet the owners after their return from the holiday, so left the keys but left where we found them! The house is in rural area (view of cows, a pig, chickens and geese!). The road on which it is located is very quiet with almost only local traffic. The house is not big but big enough for two people. There are beds for four people, but we think the house is too small for that. We were not so happy about how it was cleaned (or how it was not cleaned!). Sanitary was not clean, on the plates that we got out of the closet were leftovers. First everything that we used was washed away! Beds were clean and neatly made. On the table at the entrance we found a bottle of wine and a lot of delicious cookies, one nice gesture. In the vicinity you will find small villages such as Fresville and at a maximum of 30 minutes drive some larger villages such as St Mere Eglise, Montebourgh and Carentan. The larger villages you really need for groceries and petrol. Finding a restaurant that was open in the evenings turned out to be a challenge, many things served lunch but no dinner.

We have now been here for the 3rd time. This is enough I think. See the reviews of May 2016 and May 2018. For us it is an ideal place to stay with our 2 Border Collies. Peace and privacy and a large fully fenced garden for our 2 Borders. Upon arrival, the Senseo coffee machine was unfortunately found to be defective. On Sunday afternoon this was reported to the owner, when we happened to meet him and had a short chat in the church square in St Mère Eglise. On Monday morning this immediately brought a brand new Senseo and an extra bag of coffee pads. TOP!

Very nice house with lots of space around the door. If you like a quiet environment, this is the place-to-be. Everything is there in the house. Nicely and cosily furnished. Upon arrival, the rosé with Japanese mix was ready. Outside all space for sunbathing, frisbee and badminton or barbeque. We have had a great time!

Upon arrival the owner only seen later, but we were already known so the road knew about the how and what. (We were here in 2016, in the sign of D-Dy, see review in May 2016) and we enjoyed it very well. Nice and quiet, and a lot of privacy. In 2017 we unfortunately have to cancel this house due to family circumstances, but this year (2018) we have booked here again, and we have really liked it again. This year we did not come specially for the events of that time on D-Day, because Normandy has so much more to offer. Large garden, ideal for our 2 Border Collies, and with +/- 10 min on the beach of Utah Beach where they (running under the tides) can run and play. But for those who do come specially in the sign of D-Day this is also an excellent base.

Nice cozy cottage. Fantastic large garden. Our son could play outside. Quiet rural environment. The bunkers of Azeville are practically in the backyard. Close to the beach (Utah beach). You can visit the bunkers along the beach. Because of the beautiful weather we have mostly lived outside and we went to the beach every day. In my opinion it is too small for 4 adults. Very large supermarket in Sainte Mere Eglise. Cleaning can be better. Tips Bunkers Azeville and Crisbecq and Cap de la Hague.

This year we went back to Normandy for our D-Day tour, some things that we have missed in 2014 or not available yet to have arrived. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner that a Dutchman turned out to be. As a welcome, there was a bottle of cider and a box with a kind cakes with an almond flavor in the form of a parachute (which is very appropriate at Ste Mère Eglise) on the table. The cottage is peacefully situated outside the village of Fresville on as "n 5 km from the famous Ste Mère Eglise. You have the cottage lot of privacy, is cozy and for two persons with two dogs big enough. The friendly owner which lives in the big house behind it, we except upon arrival, only seen again upon departure. However, you could get him if you had him unexpectedly needed to call on both its fixed number, or on his cell phone. both numbers are in cottage there. The cottage has a large fully fenced garden, which was ideal for our two Border Collies. I could keep doing well in this big yard with dog frisbee and I could even a hunting trail off before they get them apart physically too keep mentally engaged. They were also together

It was a wonderful week! We are very lucky with the weather. The huge garden is a dog paradise. This is completely fenced, so our two dogs could run to their hearts and occasionally barking at the two dogs of the friendly and helpful manager. The cottage is simple, but attractive. It is suitable for four people, but personally I would not want to stay with four adults. I can not imagine living like something is experienced too small in bad weather. The shower is wonderful!

The bakery is very different: the garden is well-kept, great for the dogs, and you sit very nicely and out of sight from neighbors. The house is very cramped on the ground floor and partly not really clean (surfaces clean, but the corners and angles with a lot of dust and cobwebs), the beds are a bit worn out, the bathroom is okay. The seating is not (anymore) so comfortable and the kitchen is the biggest drawback. Hardly any space to store food or to cut something. The cupboard where the dishes and cutlery are stored really smells unpleasant, musty/moldy, probably because the house is not heated during the cooler months. The bakery has a lot of charm and the rent is cheap, also the dogs cost nothing extra, but the interior decor leaves a mixed overall impression.

We had already heard from the owner via e-mail that the key was in the door. A nice welcome gift in the form of 2 special D-Day 75-year beers with a bag of caramel sweets was very thoughtful! The next day I met the super nice owners. The cottage was lovely and simple, but everything you needed was there. On the 1st floor 2 spacious bedrooms with good blinding, so that it was "pitch dark at night. We found it very pleasant. There is a private lockable gate to completely close off the huge piece of fenced ground. Lovely for our dog. The very large grounds for the chickens, 2 geese and a funny peacock it was super fun to watch and listen to when you were eating outside on the terrace, went to the large beach of Utahbeach a few times and swam in the warm! visited the town of St. Mère Église and nearby Pointe du Hoc with its high cliffs and the beautiful blue sea (where dogs are not allowed) and the remains of Atlantic Wal, the bunkers and places where the German tanks super impressive. It is definitely a place to return to! We enjoyed this holiday home, the large piece of land and the crowing of the rooster! An absolute must !!

This year we went back to Normandy for our D-Day tour, some things that we have missed in 2014 or not available yet to have arrived. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner that a Dutchman turned out to be. As a welcome, there was a bottle of cider and a box with a kind cakes with an almond flavor in the form of a parachute (which is very appropriate at Ste Mère Eglise) on the table. The cottage is peacefully situated outside the village of Fresville on as "n 5 km from the famous Ste Mère Eglise. You have the cottage lot of privacy, is cozy and for two persons with two dogs big enough. The friendly owner which lives in the big house behind it, we except upon arrival, only seen again upon departure. However, you could get him if you had him unexpectedly needed to call on both its fixed number, or on his cell phone. both numbers are in cottage there. The cottage has a large fully fenced garden, which was ideal for our two Border Collies. I could keep doing well in this big yard with dog frisbee and I could even a hunting trail off before they get them apart physically too keep mentally engaged. They were also together

On Sunday afternoon this was reported to the owner, when we happened to meet him and had a short chat in the church square in St Mère Eglise. The arrival was fine, by means of an email we knew that the key of our house would be in the door and we had to feel at home. After having slept for 1 night and recovering from the trip, we discovered that the house was certainly not clean, there were spider rags everywhere, these were certainly not one day old, it was so bad that my husband was with him head went through. Dead flies were stuck to the lamp above the table in the room. Lots of dust everywhere, not a good dry-mat, which made the rug very wet, and certainly not to be called clean. There was a large gap between the fridge and the kitchen counter where all food scraps or whatever could fall between them. This was also the case between the sink and the stove. A window was missing from the cupboard where crockery stood here, too, thick dust strung. It was good to see that no dust had been collected for some time. What surprised me / us the most is that there was a huge supply of cleaning items in cupboards? Furthermore, the mattresses are definitely due for replacement, in 1 bed you lie on the floor after an hour. Fortunately Normandy is beautiful, we have seen a lot and enjoyed nature. What a beautiful part of France.

Great house with a huge garden. Nobody in the neighborhood who is bothering you. We are used to bringing a lot of things (how often have you already bought and left detergent?), But that turned out to be completely unnecessary. There is really a lot present. Bad luck on the way there made us arrive late in the evening, but that was no problem at all. The owner, who lives next door, stopped by the next day, as the key was simply on the door upon arrival. In the dark the house was a bit harder to find, because there is no street lighting and it is really in the countryside. This is the first time that we are considering going back to the same place again! Really had a great holiday. Our dog all the way !! Free in a large enclosed garden and also allowed to go loose on the beach.

When we contacted to arrange the arrival, the owner turned out to be on holiday. The keys were left for us on the inside of the front door. We did not meet the owners after their return from the holiday, so left the keys but left where we found them! The house is in rural area (view of cows, a pig, chickens and geese!). The road on which it is located is very quiet with almost only local traffic. The house is not big but big enough for two people. There are beds for four people, but we think the house is too small for that. We were not so happy about how it was cleaned (or how it was not cleaned!). Sanitary was not clean, on the plates that we got out of the closet were leftovers. First everything that we used was washed away! Beds were clean and neatly made. On the table at the entrance we found a bottle of wine and a lot of delicious cookies, one nice gesture. In the vicinity you will find small villages such as Fresville and at a maximum of 30 minutes drive some larger villages such as St Mere Eglise, Montebourgh and Carentan. The larger villages you really need for groceries and petrol. Finding a restaurant that was open in the evenings turned out to be a challenge, many things served lunch but no dinner.

Upon arrival the owner only seen later, but we were already known so the road knew about the how and what. (We were here in 2016, in the sign of D-Dy, see review in May 2016) and we enjoyed it very well. Nice and quiet, and a lot of privacy. In 2017 we unfortunately have to cancel this house due to family circumstances, but this year (2018) we have booked here again, and we have really liked it again. This year we did not come specially for the events of that time on D-Day, because Normandy has so much more to offer. Large garden, ideal for our 2 Border Collies, and with +/- 10 min on the beach of Utah Beach where they (running under the tides) can run and play. But for those who do come specially in the sign of D-Day this is also an excellent base.

It was a wonderful week! We are very lucky with the weather. The huge garden is a dog paradise. This is completely fenced, so our two dogs could run to their hearts and occasionally barking at the two dogs of the friendly and helpful manager. The cottage is simple, but attractive. It is suitable for four people, but personally I would not want to stay with four adults. I can not imagine living like something is experienced too small in bad weather. The shower is wonderful!

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner that a Dutchman turned out to be. As a welcome, there was a bottle of cider and a box with a kind cakes with an almond flavor in the form of a parachute (which is very appropriate at Ste Mère Eglise) on the table. The cottage is peacefully situated outside the village of Fresville on as "n 5 km from the famous Ste Mère Eglise. You have the cottage lot of privacy, is cozy and for two persons with two dogs big enough. The friendly owner which lives in the big house behind it, we except upon arrival, only seen again upon departure. However, you could get him if you had him unexpectedly needed to call on both its fixed number, or on his cell phone. both numbers are in cottage there. The cottage has a large fully fenced garden, which was ideal for our two Border Collies. I could keep doing well in this big yard with dog frisbee and I could even a hunting trail off before they get them apart physically too keep mentally engaged. They were also together

When we contacted to arrange the arrival, the owner turned out to be on holiday. The keys were left for us on the inside of the front door. We did not meet the owners after their return from the holiday, so left the keys but left where we found them! The house is in rural area (view of cows, a pig, chickens and geese!). The road on which it is located is very quiet with almost only local traffic. The house is not big but big enough for two people. There are beds for four people, but we think the house is too small for that. We were not so happy about how it was cleaned (or how it was not cleaned!). Sanitary was not clean, on the plates that we got out of the closet were leftovers. First everything that we used was washed away! Beds were clean and neatly made. On the table at the entrance we found a bottle of wine and a lot of delicious cookies, one nice gesture. In the vicinity you will find small villages such as Fresville and at a maximum of 30 minutes drive some larger villages such as St Mere Eglise, Montebourgh and Carentan. The larger villages you really need for groceries and petrol. Finding a restaurant that was open in the evenings turned out to be a challenge, many things served lunch but no dinner.

The arrival was fine, by means of an email we knew that the key of our house would be in the door and we had to feel at home. After having slept for 1 night and recovering from the trip, we discovered that the house was certainly not clean, there were spider rags everywhere, these were certainly not one day old, it was so bad that my husband was with him head went through. Dead flies were stuck to the lamp above the table in the room. Lots of dust everywhere, not a good dry-mat, which made the rug very wet, and certainly not to be called clean. There was a large gap between the fridge and the kitchen counter where all food scraps or whatever could fall between them. This was also the case between the sink and the stove. A window was missing from the cupboard where crockery stood here, too, thick dust strung. It was good to see that no dust had been collected for some time. What surprised me / us the most is that there was a huge supply of cleaning items in cupboards? Furthermore, the mattresses are definitely due for replacement, in 1 bed you lie on the floor after an hour. Fortunately Normandy is beautiful, we have seen a lot and enjoyed nature. What a beautiful part of France.

Great house with a huge garden. Nobody in the neighborhood who is bothering you. We are used to bringing a lot of things (how often have you already bought and left detergent?), But that turned out to be completely unnecessary. There is really a lot present. Bad luck on the way there made us arrive late in the evening, but that was no problem at all. The owner, who lives next door, stopped by the next day, as the key was simply on the door upon arrival. You can visit the bunkers along the beach. Because of the beautiful weather we have mostly lived outside and we went to the beach every day. In my opinion it is too small for 4 adults. It was a wonderful week! We are very lucky with the weather. The huge garden is a dog paradise. This is completely fenced, so our two dogs could run to their hearts and occasionally barking at the two dogs of the friendly and helpful manager. The cottage is simple, but attractive. It is suitable for four people, but personally I would not want to stay with four adults. I can not imagine living like something is experienced too small in bad weather. The shower is wonderful!

We had already heard from the owner via e-mail that the key was in the door. A nice welcome gift in the form of 2 special D-Day 75-year beers with a bag of caramel sweets was very thoughtful! The next day I met the super nice owners. The cottage was lovely and simple, but everything you needed was there. On the 1st floor 2 spacious bedrooms with good blinding, so that it was "pitch dark at night. We found it very pleasant. There is a private lockable gate to completely close off the huge piece of fenced ground. Lovely for our dog. The very large grounds for the chickens, 2 geese and a funny peacock it was super fun to watch and listen to when you were eating outside on the terrace, went to the large beach of Utahbeach a few times and swam in the warm! visited the town of St. Mère Église and nearby Pointe du Hoc with its high cliffs and the beautiful blue sea (where dogs are not allowed) and the remains of Atlantic Wal, the bunkers and places where the German tanks super impressive. It is definitely a place to return to! We enjoyed this holiday home, the large piece of land and the crowing of the rooster! An absolute must !!

Very nice house with lots of space around the door. If you like a quiet environment, this is the place-to-be. Everything is there in the house. Nicely and cosily furnished. Upon arrival, the rosé with Japanese mix was ready. Outside all space for sunbathing, frisbee and badminton or barbeque. We have had a great time!
