We had a very nice weekend with 14 people in the house Madeleine. Eating at a long table, homemade in the kitchen, the weather was nice so we drank and played games outside in the large garden, the pool is good, enough bedrooms, a nice adventure for the children in the 300-year-old house.

The house looked nicer in the photos than it was. For our group, which also included 3 small children, it was fine. The kitchen could use a small upgrade in terms of basic items; for example, a late for cutlery from the dishwasher was tied together with zip ties, the can opener was unusable, and the knives that were there were dull. Especially when you have to cook for a large group, that's not pleasant. The vacuum cleaner was so loud and missing a wheel that we used it as little as possible. We missed a broom/dustpan and can opener. Basic things that actually belong in such a large house. The positive was that it was very clean, very nice, and it was also very nice that everyone had their own sink/shower in or near their room. We enjoyed the pool in the basement and also used the sauna twice. The garden was beautiful, especially in the autumn colors. All in all, we had a nice holiday week in the Ardennes.

A beautiful house from the year 1740 located on the main road from Tellin to Nassogne but without any inconvenience from traffic. The rooms are very large and authentic with large oak beams and plastered walls with old oak floorboards. Well-functioning heating and showers. There is also a large garden at the house that can be used freely for football, volleyball, badminton, climbing tower, swings, BBQ, etc. In addition, there is a well-heated swimming pool with disco lights in the basement. An extensive kitchen with a well-functioning stove and oven. We spent a very nice long weekend with the whole family with children and grandchildren. You can make nice day trips to the Euro Space Center, Bastogne, Dinant and the caves and the wildlife park in Han. For cyclists (cyclists) and hikers, it is an ideal starting point for beautiful trips through the Ardennes. The whole family enjoyed it and was able to do their thing. The weather has also been favorable to us, but the swimming pool and play facilities provide sufficient alternative for bad weather. There is no longer a bakery or supermarket in Forrières and there is only one café. For (extensive) shopping, a car journey of approximately 6 km is required. Hygiene was in good order throughout the house: the kitchen, swimming pool, rooms and sanitary facilities were very well cleaned, our compliments. Definitely recommended, partly because of the large living space you have here for a large group.

the house was very tidy, nothing to complain about, the person responsible for the house was very friendly.
there were some negatives
1. that when entering the house it smelled strongly of the sewer (or the sewer sign as we say), after thorough ventilation it was better, but yes, around this time of year you cannot open the windows all day long. The cleaning lady did say that the owner was going to come and look at the cause during the next week, so that is positive
2. In the kitchen, the frying pans and some (Tefal) cooking pots definitely need to be replaced.
Furthermore, it was a cozy house, immaculate, well maintained, beautiful garden where at the front above the wall a piece of fence is missing to allow a dog to roam freely. Definitely recommended if the above is resolved. Of course, the pans also depend on how the tenants deal with the conveniences.
The heating is also fine. Billiards is a big plus. All in all, a top location and a top house, especially considering its age. The furnishings also match the house. All together very positive.

The house was gorgeous, old and characteristic. Great location for all the sightseeing. The pool was bigger than expected and the beautiful garden too. Everything breathes nostalgia. We had a good contact with the owner and the neighbor. Unfortunately we had too leave two days early due to personal matters. Rochefort is less than a 10 minute drive. A beautiful place. We were here last weekend. We have a family weekend once a year and this house seemed perfect for this. Upon entering we stepped into a kind of experience. Back in time, but with a modern touch. Old paintings that made your imagination run wild. Everything was clean, but outdated. Outside there is a lovely large garden, where the children could play freely. The swimming pool, how AMAZING! the children, but also the adults, really enjoyed it here. The sauna, great. Our meals in the kitchen, what a great place. Everything was sufficiently available. Highly recommended for people who want something different!

Negative: Floor down to the pool. I have had a good fall twice myself. The floor is slippery when it is a little wet. I would lay a rough tile there, just like at the pool itself, to prevent someone from slipping.

Although the house is attractive and authentic, we do not entirely share the rave reviews above.
On the positive side, the house is large and has enough bedrooms. It has a lot of atmosphere and exudes cosiness. But also: the house is quite tired and dingy and deserves a thorough renovation very quickly.
The kitchen is minimally equipped, many essential items that you would expect in a house in this rental class are missing. The sink is a kind of trough, picturesque but very inconvenient when you use the kitchen intensively with a group of 10 people. Coffee maker, dishwasher, cutlery, plates, cups, it is all measured and not really suitable for a large group.
The welcome and (especially) the departure were unfriendly and measured. We left the entire house tidy, but the lady in question only had eyes for the billiard balls that were not in the middle of the billiard table; we were called back like little children - we were already in the car ready to leave - to place the balls correctly.
All this, together with the far too high price we paid (many things that are presented as included on the site are still charged) makes it a somewhat disappointing experience. Very sorry.

-very old house, squeaks everywhere, we had a baby with us and it was difficult to find a quiet room in it.
-Entrance doors and some windows, very old, simply glazed, thin and partly broken glass
-Many doors have defective door handles and locks
-Heating in October didn't turn on or couldn't be turned up and the owner (who lives next door) didn't do anything
-It was very cold in the evening and at night
-Owner ONLY speaks French, not a word of English or similar.
-Kitchen utensils are sometimes not complete, broken or not clean
- Stair security for children tends to be a wobbly, dangerous piece of wood
-Sauna heater too weak
-Swimming pool smelled of mold and had really disgusting seating, the water wasn't clean and probably no chlorine was used
-The alarm went off in the middle of the night because it was stormy
-Bathtub and shower need to be replaced

We cannot recommend the house because it does not have a good price/performance ratio and is in need of renovation

We have here ENJOYED kleinkinderen.We with children and were married 40 years and have nthe celebrated here. There really was something for everyone tastes.The pool and sauna were a BIG success. Zeer fijn verblijf gehad in Forrières. Gigantisch huis waar je eerst even in verloren loopt met een prachtige tuin. Voldoende comfortabele zetels en bedden. Extra pluspunten waren voor ons het zwembad, biljarttafel en de ruimte van de woning. Minpunten vonden we de thermostaat die geblokkeerd stond op 20 graden. Dit was best fris voor zo’n groot huis en met kleine kindjes. Badkamers en wc’s kunnen hier en daar wel wat opfrissing gebruiken. Opgemaakte bedden en handdoeken hadden een leuke meerwaarde kunnen zijn en geen overbodige luxe gezien de huurprijs die gevraagd wordt.

Everything is there what you need. Also a handy living room to sit with many people. Downsides are the poor finish and the aging of eg bathroom, etc. The pool is also not 100% ideal. This is located in the basement of the house, so there is no daylight. The floor and edge of the pool are in urgent need of renewal as well as the walls etc. were no longer neat. It was a nice holiday home with good facilities and we enjoyed it. And a lovely hostess. I only have the following comments: 1. The dryer advertised is not a machine but a clothes rack.2. The mattresses sag too far causing some people to suffer from their backs.3. The chlorine was too strong in the pool, so we had trouble with our eyes and had to cough. The solution is to keep the door open, but I don't think that's the intention.4. The bathroom leaks water down to the living room. I reported this to the hostess, at her request we did not use the bath. I can certainly recommend the holiday home, especially for playing hide-and-seek in the evening with a large group. :-)

I share the experience of other guests for me. It is a bit of improvisation in the kitchen ... Knives not sharp, cheap service, many cups damaged, dust hangs in large strings of the extractor hood ... Apparently we had arrived for the spring cleaning ... Coffee maker did it only once and had to cool down for an hour ... invest a few Euros and it is all easier ... Swimming pool is not for claustrophobic guests and people who do not want to walk past 500 old and dusty empty champagne and wine bottles on the way to the pool ... who are there to catch dust in the wine cellar ... Many sockets hang half out of the wall, some do not, sometimes pieces of wallpaper torn. A beautiful house from the year 1740 located on the main road from Tellin to Nassogne but without any inconvenience from traffic. The rooms are very large and authentic with large oak beams and plastered walls with old oak floorboards. Well-functioning heating and showers. There is also a large garden at the house that can be used freely for football, volleyball, badminton, climbing tower, swings, BBQ, etc. In addition, there is a well-heated swimming pool with disco lights in the basement. An extensive kitchen with a well-functioning stove and oven. We spent a very nice long weekend with the whole family with children and grandchildren. You can make nice day trips to the Euro Space Center, Bastogne, Dinant and the caves and the wildlife park in Han. For cyclists (cyclists) and hikers, it is an ideal starting point for beautiful trips through the Ardennes. The whole family enjoyed it and was able to do their thing. The weather has also been favorable to us, but the swimming pool and play facilities provide sufficient alternative for bad weather. There is no longer a bakery or supermarket in Forrières and there is only one café. For (extensive) shopping, a car journey of approximately 6 km is required. Hygiene was in good order throughout the house: the kitchen, swimming pool, rooms and sanitary facilities were very well cleaned, our compliments. We were here last weekend. We have a family weekend once a year and this house seemed perfect for this. Upon entering we stepped into a kind of experience. Back in time, but with a modern touch. Old paintings that made your imagination run wild. Everything was clean, but outdated. Outside there is a lovely large garden, where the children could play freely. The swimming pool, how AMAZING! the children, but also the adults, really enjoyed it here. The sauna, great. Our meals in the kitchen, what a great place. Everything was sufficiently available. Highly recommended for people who want something different!

Negative: Floor down to the pool. I have had a good fall twice myself. The floor is slippery when it is a little wet. I would lay a rough tile there, just like at the pool itself, to prevent someone from slipping.

the house was very tidy, nothing to complain about, the person responsible for the house was very friendly.
there were some negatives
1. that when entering the house it smelled strongly of the sewer (or the sewer sign as we say), after thorough ventilation it was better, but yes, around this time of year you cannot open the windows all day long. The cleaning lady did say that the owner was going to come and look at the cause during the next week, so that is positive
2. In the kitchen, the frying pans and some (Tefal) cooking pots definitely need to be replaced.
Furthermore, it was a cozy house, immaculate, well maintained, beautiful garden where at the front above the wall a piece of fence is missing to allow a dog to roam freely. Definitely recommended if the above is resolved. Of course, the pans also depend on how the tenants deal with the conveniences.
The heating is also fine. Billiards is a big plus. All in all, a top location and a top house, especially considering its age. The furnishings also match the house. All together very positive.

-very old house, squeaks everywhere, we had a baby with us and it was difficult to find a quiet room in it.

-Heating in October didn't turn on or couldn't be turned up and the owner (who lives next door) didn't do anything
-It was very cold in the evening and at night
-Owner ONLY speaks French, not a word of English or similar.

- Stair security for children tends to be a wobbly, dangerous piece of wood
-Sauna heater too weak

Zeer fijn verblijf gehad in Forrières. Gigantisch huis waar je eerst even in verloren loopt met een prachtige tuin. Voldoende comfortabele zetels en bedden. Extra pluspunten waren voor ons het zwembad, biljarttafel en de ruimte van de woning. Minpunten vonden we de thermostaat die geblokkeerd stond op 20 graden. Dit was best fris voor zo’n groot huis en met kleine kindjes. Badkamers en wc’s kunnen hier en daar wel wat opfrissing gebruiken. Opgemaakte bedden en handdoeken hadden een leuke meerwaarde kunnen zijn en geen overbodige luxe gezien de huurprijs die gevraagd wordt.

The kitchen is minimally equipped, many essential items that you would expect in a house in this rental class are missing. The sink is a kind of trough, picturesque but very inconvenient when you use the kitchen intensively with a group of 10 people. Coffee maker, dishwasher, cutlery, plates, cups, it is all measured and not really suitable for a large group.
The welcome and (especially) the departure were unfriendly and measured. We left the entire house tidy, but the lady in question only had eyes for the billiard balls that were not in the middle of the billiard table; we were called back like little children - we were already in the car ready to leave - to place the balls correctly.
All this, together with the far too high price we paid (many things that are presented as included on the site are still charged) makes it a somewhat disappointing experience. Very sorry.

the house was very tidy, nothing to complain about, the person responsible for the house was very friendly.
there were some negatives
1. that when entering the house it smelled strongly of the sewer (or the sewer sign as we say), after thorough ventilation it was better, but yes, around this time of year you cannot open the windows all day long. The cleaning lady did say that the owner was going to come and look at the cause during the next week, so that is positive
2. In the kitchen, the frying pans and some (Tefal) cooking pots definitely need to be replaced.
Furthermore, it was a cozy house, immaculate, well maintained, beautiful garden where at the front above the wall a piece of fence is missing to allow a dog to roam freely. Definitely recommended if the above is resolved. Of course, the pans also depend on how the tenants deal with the conveniences.
The heating is also fine. Billiards is a big plus. All in all, a top location and a top house, especially considering its age. The furnishings also match the house. All together very positive.

Negatives:
-very old house, squeaks everywhere, we had a baby with us and it was difficult to find a quiet room in it.
-Entrance doors and some windows, very old, simply glazed, thin and partly broken glass
-Many doors have defective door handles and locks
-Heating in October didn't turn on or couldn't be turned up and the owner (who lives next door) didn't do anything
-It was very cold in the evening and at night
-Owner ONLY speaks French, not a word of English or similar.
-Kitchen utensils are sometimes not complete, broken or not clean
- Stair security for children tends to be a wobbly, dangerous piece of wood
-Sauna heater too weak
-Swimming pool smelled of mold and had really disgusting seating, the water wasn't clean and probably no chlorine was used
-The alarm went off in the middle of the night because it was stormy

Zeer fijn verblijf gehad in Forrières. Gigantisch huis waar je eerst even in verloren loopt met een prachtige tuin. Voldoende comfortabele zetels en bedden. Extra pluspunten waren voor ons het zwembad, biljarttafel en de ruimte van de woning.
Minpunten vonden we de thermostaat die geblokkeerd stond op 20 graden. Dit was best fris voor zo’n groot huis en met kleine kindjes. Badkamers en wc’s kunnen hier en daar wel wat opfrissing gebruiken.
Opgemaakte bedden en handdoeken hadden een leuke meerwaarde kunnen zijn en geen overbodige luxe gezien de huurprijs die gevraagd wordt.

Knives not sharp, cheap service, many cups damaged, dust hangs in large strings of the extractor hood ... Apparently we had arrived for the spring cleaning ... Coffee maker did it only once and had to cool down for an hour ... invest a few Euros and it is all easier ... Swimming pool is not for claustrophobic guests and people who do not want to walk past 500 old and dusty empty champagne and wine bottles on the way to the pool ... who are there to catch dust in the wine cellar ... Many sockets hang half out of the wall, some do not, sometimes pieces of wallpaper torn. The house has charm and many beautiful authentic details, but you could enjoy it more if the above-mentioned contemporary details were correct and it was all a little more cared-for ... The mattresses sag too far causing some people to suffer from their backs.3. The chlorine was too strong in the pool, so we had trouble with our eyes and had to cough. The solution is to keep the door open, but I don't think that's the intention.4. The bathroom leaks water down to the living room. I reported this to the hostess, at her request we did not use the bath. I can certainly recommend the holiday home, especially for playing hide-and-seek in the evening with a large group. :-)

We have had a nice family weekend! (12 adults, 5 children, 1 dog) Everything was there, plenty of space, beautiful large garden! Swimming pool, sauna were an added value (especially for the children)! A bigger TV+digital TV would be an improvement!

Nice big house, but outdated. Very large beautiful garden. Swimming pool and sauna are fine, swimming pool could be a bit warmer. We are used to more luxurious / newer houses for that price. For such an old house, the price can be lowered a bit.

First of all, I am very impressed with the cleanliness of the house. Kudos to the cleaning team! In addition, a very nice authentic house, it feels like being in an old movie set. We took advantage of the swimming pool with sauna and spent hours playing billiards, a real bonus. And before that I forget, thank you for the welcome gift! Much appreciated. The welcome was also warm, welcoming and very helpful.

We had a very nice weekend in this house. There is a lot of space in and around the house. The large garden was very nice for the small children and the dog. On arrival the whole house was neat and tidy. The pool is also a plus. We swam every day with the kids.

Beautiful old and authentic house. We were 10 and there was plenty of space. Crockery, glasses etc also generously present. Large garden with BBQ and toys was also nice. Pool in the basement was cramped but a big party for the kids. Nice bakery in the village. Recommended!

We have here ENJOYED kleinkinderen.We with children and were married 40 years and have nthe celebrated here. There really was something for everyone tastes.The pool and sauna were a BIG success. And everyone there was in the area something to do. Whether cycling or was visiting a town or the caves. Really recommended !!!!

What a nice house !! Together with children, partners, grandchildren and their friends we had very pleasant days. The pool was a success, both with the little ones and with the adults. The pool room was also a must. We can certainly recommend this house. Belvilla has lived up to expectations.

We had hired to be near our child actors who played Mary Tudor in Marloie. Children and grandchildren had a ball with the pool and the beautiful garden allowed us to gather family, friends and the band of comedians for a giant barbecue on Sunday midi.Très good accueil.Un great memory and a great address. A beautiful character house with 5 bedrooms. Original features, but do not expect tight finish house. It is over 300 years old. Swimming pool in the basement is great, but what a noise makes the pump. Why is that do not work away / geïsoleerd.In this price range would be for hiring bedding really an addition. Warm and friendly reception.

Terrible. The heat was already on, all the rooms were toasty. The house was large, comfortable and cozy. The wooden floors give the house extra cachet. Beautiful and large garden, shame the weather was so bad. The fireplace made for extra cosiness. Much opportunity to be together in the living room around the fireplace or in the dining room.

Fantastic house, a bit different than in the pictures (that seems to be the other part of the house), but certainly not less beautiful. A beautiful old, large house with excellent facilities and a lovely large garden. The only thing we missed a shelter to be able to sit outside when it rains, and the pool feels a bit claustrophobic because it is in the cellar behind the wine supply.Friendly and accurate welcome and goodbye, and in between a visit to maintain the pool The restaurant at 300 meters is also excellent, Forrieres is a charming little village, but with Marché and Rochefort close to more than enough facilities, the caves of Han are nearby, and a game park, and Bouillon is also beautiful.
