It is an enormous house that really has potential. Some parts are good, some parts are less so. There is also a huge garden where you could enjoy spending time on summer days. There is a reasonably authentic older section and some extensions have been made as bedrooms. But unfortunately, no consideration was given to toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, dishcloths, etc. A small effort, and just include that in the price. You would come in much better that way. We could start with the dishes because the glasses and cups were often dirty and greasy. Also, no frying pan for frying eggs?? There are only bedrooms where there were some moldy spots on the wall. The door makes a lot of noise when closing. Just fix that! Not much effort so that others don’t wake up. The fire alarm went off for unclear reasons and we couldn’t find the room well since it wasn’t indicated! Just make a little map and the problem is solved. Last night the heating went out. I briefly visited the house next to ours where the manager lives, but no one was home. We didn't call, even though that was an option. So it's our own choice. There is a nice billiard table (unfortunately unheated) where you can have fun. In the end, we received a €40 discount on the cleaning. We really do not discourage the house, but it would be good to spend a few days on it so that everything is clean and functions properly again. Then it would easily have scored an 8! ! All in all, we give it a 6.5, so a passing grade. It also comes into play that we did not speak French and the man who guided us did not speak Dutch. As a result, it is somewhat difficult to communicate.

Beautiful, very quietly located place with an enormous garden. Friendly reception. Relaxation options available (billiards, table football, board games, small cinema). Kitchen is somewhat underdeveloped (especially for larger groups). 1 of the 2 cooking burners was defective and no real roasting pans were available. In one of the rooms, there was an unpleasant smell (drain). Showers and sanitary facilities are basic. The costs for energy and water are disappointing in winter. Overall cleanliness is lacking.

As can be read in previous reviews, the house is somewhat tired and incredibly poorly laid out;

Indeed, only 4 of the 8 induction hobs work and in a kitchen for such a large group there is also no extractor hood. 2 toilets are also on the small side when fully occupied, but 5 showers are great. We were unlucky with the weather at the end of May, so the oil heating worked continuously (the burner makes quite a lot of noise) and we also regularly lit the fireplace to make the chilly house (of course a great place to stay during a heat wave) a bit more pleasant. In the upstairs bedroom with 4 beds, all bedside lamps were defective and here and there there are lamps that have given up the ghost (for a long time). It is indeed impossible to remember how to operate the lights here and there with the abundance of light switches.

The garden (unfortunately very little use) and the location are major advantages of this house. We paid approximately €300 for water, electricity, oil and.... wood blocks for a week's stay with approximately 55 overnight stays (different occupancy in WE than during the week). The host (father of the owner) is quite friendly if you speak French and will check the meter readings with you at the beginning and end of your stay so that you immediately know what your bill will be. That was done very correctly!

A very nice house with lots of spaces and a playful layout. We were here with 8 small children and they have great fun. The jacuzzi is very nice, even though not all beams work well. Also with us the fire alarm was triggered at night without any reason, something may be done about it. Furthermore, a beautiful, complete house with spacious bedrooms. The host is friendly and gives a good tour at the beginning. At cleaning costs, costs for electricity, gas, water and wood (for the beautiful fireplace) we were in a week in the winter about 400 euros lost. Large house, beautifully situated with plenty of space around. However, the kitchen was dirty, we removed the cobwebs in the kitchen ourselves; 2 burners did not work and the pans were dirty. We had to pay a lot extra for heating costs. The fireplace was nice and big, but the smoke vent did not work properly (despite the slider being open) and filled the room with smoke. Holes in bedding. The sauna and jacuzzi that were advertised were no longer available. Home cinema was available, but TV channels could only be viewed with a subscription.

Arrival and departure at our convenience, excellent welcome! The house is well equipped for 14 people (dishes, glasses, equipment, pots etc.), it has character and is full of nooks and crannies to keep everyone occupied! The +: billiards, jacuzzi, lounge with wood fire, space, excellent Wi-Fi connection, walks, small grocery store a few hundred meters away (order your croissants and pains au chocolat from breakfast !). The -: the house needs to be refreshed (but that does not detract from its comfort), a WC at the "cellar / jacuzzi" level would have been practical, and ... the fanciful switches (no need to try to understand what switch off which lamp), but that's part of the charm of the house :-) A word of advice: ask the owner to show you the album of the origin of the gîte, the transformation is surprising!

In early May a wonderful midweek spent with children and grandchildren in La Gentilhommiere in Weris. Friendly welcome and introduction. We have 14 people (and a dog) stayed one week in this wonderful house. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 12 young people aged 15 to 24 years. Because the house had many different rooms, one was crowded. The bedrooms were strong, the cinema room was great and the jacuzzi heerlijk.Wij found the house is actually much nicer than the photo 's or the description indicated. If you enjoy walking and privacy, this is ideal woning.De owner is very friendly but speaks only Frans.Het only downside being the many vliegen.Wij have enjoyed, we will go again next year! The house is in a beautiful location with a beautiful super large garden. The asking price for the cottage was very attractive. The domain and the house itself were beautiful and quiet. There were only some negatives-There was no cough before we arrived (certainly not vacuumed and weighed). We have spent a wonderful 2 weeks in the summer holidays in this house! The owner who you receive unfortunately only speaks French, but was already waiting for us at the attached house. Yes, there are still some cobwebs here and there, but that's all. It is a gigantic house and the price for the final cleaning is really very reasonable. I don't expect shiny walls and that doesn't match the atmosphere of this old building at all. It was really clean enough for us, we never had the idea that we were in a dingy holiday home. The garden is huge and so is the roof in the garden where you can sit in the shade. During our stay we have been here alternately with 4 to 12 people and it always felt spacious, with plenty of opportunities to retreat. What we did regret is that the billiard table (not a pool table, be aware of that) is not heated. As a result, the table does not run great. However, that has not stopped us from playing billiards every night. Neat choice and balls are present. We had such a good time that we are considering booking this house again next year. We have a super fun week in this house. We are a week with 12 people late 20 been in this house. Super nice week had and we have entertained us well. Cozy cozy cottage, just some things do require some maintenance, and what would be better cleaned. We made great use of the fireplace, foosball and billiards. The sauna and jacuzzi was disappointing, space does not smell so fresh. Location of the house is right on the edge, nice and quiet and good for people who like to walk. Within walking distance is not much special, no (decent) restaurants, pubs or something. 10 min by car you are at the supermarket and 15 minutes from Durbuy. Homeowner was a nice man, spoke only French. You could have contact with his son who speaks some Dutch. Energy costs were high, around 450 euros for a week in the winter. The house is not easily ignited hot so all heaters full open for the first few days. All in all we had a great sense to us.

The house is beautiful, but the house itself is to be restored to. We are a week with 12 people late 20 been in this house. Super nice week had and we have entertained us well. Cozy cozy cottage, just some things do require some maintenance, and what would be better cleaned. We made great use of the fireplace, foosball and billiards. The sauna and jacuzzi was disappointing, space does not smell so fresh. Location of the house is right on the edge, nice and quiet and good for people who like to walk. Within walking distance is not much special, no (decent) restaurants, pubs or something. 10 min by car you are at the supermarket and 15 minutes from Durbuy. Homeowner was a nice man, spoke only French. You could have contact with his son who speaks some Dutch. Energy costs were high, around 450 euros for a week in the winter. The house is not easily ignited hot so all heaters full open for the first few days. All in all we had a great sense to us.

An excellent short-stay vacation spot in a beautiful setting and very quiet village. If you are looking for some fun after eating out in 4 to 5 restaurants in the village then you are in Trittenheim in the wrong place. Around 2100 and 2200 hours of close restaurants and there is no other entertainment other than a nice stroll or an aperitif on the small communal roof terrace of the complex. Offered for a property if it meets minimum apartment household (kitchen) equipment and the apparatus plumbing and furnishings somewhat dated. The interiors leaves nothing to be desired, the cinema is great, jacuzzi and sauna are also vorhanden.Sehr have liked us the Porch and the huge garden. The Vernieter was extremely hospitable and friendly. We would come back again definitely.

house is spacious and located close to hiking. minus three bedrooms on the ground floor and no toilet. Rooms are also clammy by the presence of jaccuzie and sauna on the same floor.

The house is beautiful, but the house itself is to be restored to. An extractor fan in the kitchen should not be a luxury and two toilets for 14 people, we found a little bit of the fireplace we have fired the first night, but draws the chimney of a meter, in no time the whole house was under the smoke, whatever is dangerous because of suffocation. The next evening we have the central open put what cost us 110 euros on fuel. There is so much more to this beautiful home because it is very unfortunate as it looks now.

Nice setting, nice house. However, little kitchen tools and not very clean. Jacuzzi and sauna very nice. Delicious field outside with own driveway. You can take lovely walks from the house. Fun things around (Durbuy, Hotton Grottoes was also highly recommended). Best high additional costs for electricity, clean water (for filling bath). In total it was 193 euros extra things!!
