We stayed in the old but perfectly usable building for 3 nights at the beginning of February. At first, it took a while for the heat to kick in, but thanks to the wood fire, it quickly became cozy. Very good location, we did many walks in the area. The owner welcomed us well and provided some walking plans. Everything was present in the kitchen and there was plenty of space for 4 people.

Nice little house with everything on and around it! Very friendly owner and host who makes concrete agreements with you so you know what to expect. Very cool environment for walking. The landscape with the dolmens and hunebeds is truly imaginative! A real recommendation! We were really very satisfied!!

The reception was a cold shower on the trip. We were accused of not calling to indicate when we would arrive. But in the documentation we had, it stated that we only needed to call if we arrived outside of 4 PM and 6 PM. But the owner kept nagging about this up to 10 times. While we were completely unaware of any wrongdoing. And when that was finally over, there was a very strict explanation of what we all had to adhere to. I had never experienced anything like this before. The CV could not be too high because that costs too much. A whole explanation about sorting waste. How the door had to be locked, etc. What also disappointed us was that the little house was not clean. Or it had not been cleaned in a year. Fortunately, the walks and the view made up for a lot. We enjoyed the view, but not the owner of the little house.

The accommodation is located right in the middle of all the beautiful destinations in the Ardennes, a good base to enjoy this area. The cottage is part of a 300-year-old building, full of special details. He loves this special place very much and expects you to behave like a true guest, which he is absolutely right about. Once that is clear, the host reveals himself to be a very friendly gentleman of advanced age. We enjoyed his knowledge about the house, the area, and occasionally chatting with him about life. We had a wonderful vacation with our two children, thanks to the host and the special stay.

We enjoyed a midweek Ardennes in this well-equipped and clean house in Wéris. We were very kindly welcomed in Dutch by Mr. Vandevenne and found everything we needed in the authentic house for a stay with 4 people (2 adults and 2 toddlers). From the house there are various walking options (including to the Dolmen of Wéris) that we could adapt in terms of length to our little walkers on the basis of a map that was available in the house. In Wéris itself there is a grocery store where you can buy bread in the morning. Durbuy is nearby and we also made a trip to the domain of Han-Sur-Lesse (40 min drive).

The owner received us hospitably and was always friendly and helpful during our stay. The holiday home is cozy, the kitchen is well equipped and the sanitary facilities are taken care of. The facilities are called a bunk bed. This is incorrect. Each of the bedrooms has a double bed. (see pictures). There is, however, a cot. The large garden is enclosed by a hedge. Between the holiday home and the owner's house is a large barn. Together this gives a lot of privacy. You can enjoy a lovely walk directly from home. Also a little further away are beautiful (marked) walks. In Barvaux (7 km) is a good supermarket. Also nice restaurants. Durbuy is very touristy, but nice to take a city walk. There are also plenty of opportunities in the area for excursions.

Indeed, as read on your website the man is quite fond of his property. But he makes it very clear in mind when taking the house. We stayed with the Easter 3 nights in this house. We have had the good sense to. House looked outside and inside exactly as on the website. It is dated, but it does have some again. The owner lives in the house, you did complete privacy because there is still something of a barn from under me.
