The cottage is well located and looks beautiful in the photos, but once inside we were very disappointed. Musty, moldy, and damp smell, the house was not clean upon our arrival, cobwebs everywhere… Everything seems old and dirty! Mold on the walls, the sofas are dirty with blankets on them, the kitchen is very old, dirty, and sticky, an old gas stove that leaks!!! No coffee maker. Chipped mirrors in the bathrooms, toothpaste splatters on the mirror, etc. The thermostats in the bathrooms do not work, so you have to wash in the cold! No central heating but a large wood stove that cannot heat the whole house! I really do not recommend!

We left for home earlier because we really needed to be in a clean house again. It's a real shame about our vacation. So definitely do not book!

I can't sing this host and their house's praises loudly enough. My son and I spent a weekend there, and I'd happily live in it forever if I could. The setting is tranquil and rural. There's loads of open space around and a stream nearby. We didn't see it, but there are beavers in it that have built little dams out of sticks and branches. The house is deceptively big. The rooms are palatial with very comfortable beds and plenty of room for comfortable living. The downstairs open plan kitchen, living room and dining area are decorated exactly as I would have done myself if I had even an ounce of artistic flair, with a very comfortable feel and eclectic decor. I loved it and would happily stay there again if the host would have me back.

Felt at home compared to other stays I’ve had lately. Nothing overly fancy but everything worked as it should. The kitchen made it easy to enjoy meals together while sitting at the dining table so that was cool.

The shower worked well and made mornings easier! Couldn't ask for better access to nearby grocery stores,grabbed breakfast items quickly before heading out each day to explore more of Philippeville's charm.

Hair in the sink, toothpaste stains were still on the drinking cup from the previous tenants, splatters of toothpaste on the mirror, etc. That was a shame, as a considerable amount is charged for cleaning. The house is comfortably furnished, the beds are comfortable. However, people drive fast on the adjacent country road. Fortunately there is not much traffic passing by. Nature in the area is very beautiful.

What a beautiful stay! The Comfy Holiday Home in Philippeville was everything we had hoped for. The garden was a peaceful oasis where we spent our afternoons sunbathing. The kitchen was well-equipped for family meals, and we loved having barbecue evenings right in our garden. The nearby hiking trails were perfect for evening walks. Highly recommended for nature lovers!
