Description

In the south of Crete near Triopetra with sweeping views of the Libyan Sea, the Petra Mare property with pool is set on a large, shared lawn. The name ‘Stone Sea’ refers to the main components of the property. Two solidly built semi-detached stone houses, another stone house with two flats and a detached house with a shared pool and wonderful sea views make up this beautiful property.

The detached, two-storey stone house with 2 holiday flats, one above the other, stands approx. 40 to 60m from the semi-detached houses and another detached house on the edge of the plot. A large, enclosed, flat lawn and garden plot, overgrown with trees and plants of the Cretan flora surrounds the beautiful property Petra Mare. The approx. 50sqm large, oval and communal pool (approx. 5 x 10m and 1.20 to 1.80m deep, not heatable, in operation from 1.05.-31.10.) with sun loungers and parasols offers its young and old guests enjoyable bathing fun, relaxation and refreshment on some hot days.

The functionally furnished holiday flat Petra Mare 6 is located on the upper floor of the house and has a side entrance. The kitchen-living room with dining table and sofa bed is adjoined by the 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom. Each bedroom has direct access to its own covered balcony with wonderful views of the sea and the surrounding countryside.

What awaits you in this corner of the south coast of Crete is peace, seclusion, a Mediterranean, rural idyll, a charming coastal landscape, great sandy beaches and a very clean sea.
The nearest village, Akoumia, is about 10 kilometres away and Spili, where you will find a wide range of shops, is just under 20 kilometres away. There are several tavernas directly on the large Triopetra or larger Triopetra beach, approx. 2 to 2.5 km from the Petra Mare houses.

Beautiful view and apartment. I loved staying here, super nice and quiet and gorgeous sunsets. The apartment is spacious and looks just like the pictures. I would come back!!

We spent 2 very beautiful weeks in the dreamy area of Triopetra. The houses of Petra Mare are very nicely located not far from the wonderful Triopetra beach. Apartment No. 5 and 6 are in the front standalone house and are simply and well equipped. The back 2 duplex houses are more beautiful and have more sheltered and partly larger terraces. However, one can also spend the evenings very nicely in the garden by the pool. Anyone traveling to this area should know that there can be very strong winds here (as in many regions of Crete) at times. We had 5 days of storm and during that time we learned to appreciate the more wind- and wave-protected bay of Agios Pavlos very much. The manager Babis is very friendly and helpful. Nice location, with a wonderful view. Spectacular beaches nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed staying at Petramate very much. Only a bit more kitchen utensils and basics would have been welcome.

We had a great vacation in Triopetra with our children. Great coast! Just a lot of driving for further excursions until you reach the main road. The local manager is super nice and takes great care. We would go back – our children would want to go back just because of the pool and the "little bay"!

Wir haben 5 Wohnungen gebucht, weil wir so viele waren. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön, alles ist wie beschrieben und der Pool ist sogar größer, als er auf den Fotos aussieht. Gute Sauberkeit und absolut zufriedenstellende Räume. Die Strände sind wirklich nah, es dauert 5/10 Minuten mit dem Auto, um sie zu erreichen Das einzige Problem ist, dass das Haus ein wenig isoliert ist, aber ich denke, es ist klar, wenn man bucht. Absolut zu empfehlen!

Preliminary: The location, although sometimes quite windy, and the view are great. The employee taking care of the property was always friendly and helpful. The apartment is pleasantly spacious and the kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. However, we could not fully enjoy our stay as we found the holiday home in poor condition when we arrived. Some of the items shown in the pictures were missing, there was no possibility to clean the floor, the cleanliness left much to be desired (to put it mildly), the lighting consisted entirely of uncomfortable cold white lamps, and more. Yes, some things were provided to us later on. However, this does not change the initial impression and the fact that instead of relaxation, the first thing was to file a complaint. Two other accommodations have proven to us that it can be better in this price range.

The holiday home consists of 2 apartments with a great sea view, but is located in a remote area. The nearest shopping possibility is 25-30 minutes away through the mountains. In mid-October, the restaurants in the area close (there are 3 directly on the beaches and one about a 15-minute walk uphill). We were 2 families, so the remote location didn't bother us. The two beaches (each a 5-minute drive away) are truly beautiful and - at least during our travel time from early to mid-October - not crowded. The landlord was very nice, but negligent. The apartments were not cleaned even once, contrary to the travel description. Also, the equipment was more than poor. 3 knives for a 4-person household, not a single bowl... Nevertheless, we would recommend the accommodation to vacationers who don't mind driving a lot, if they want to see something other than the beach and want to enjoy quiet holiday days otherwise.
