The Nuages holiday apartment in Villa Fontaine Vieille in Vence, near Nice on the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, is surrounded by a large, Mediterranean garden full of flowers, palm trees, cypresses and mimosas. The idyllic seating in the shady garden and the verandas invite you to read, stroll, discuss and meditate. The property is located just outside the old city walls in close proximity to the historic old town of Vence. Shops, boutiques, street cafés and restaurants are within easy walking distance.
The oldest parts of the villa date from the middle of the 19th century. The old components have been tastefully incorporated into the renovated holiday apartments. The interior design is based on the Provence style of southern France. Depending on the orientation of the balconies and terraces of the apartments, you have panoramic views of the Baou Mountains, the Lubiane river, the Matisse Chapel and the picturesque old town of Vence.
A roofed fireplace with a fireplace and a summer outdoor kitchen are available to all holiday apartments. The covered outdoor kitchen is equipped with a pizza oven and grill, a large dining table with chairs, dishes, etc. Loungers, resting places and umbrellas complete the diverse offer.
The apartment is equipped with central heating and is cozy and warm even in winter. Connoisseurs and many of our regular guests prefer to come to us in autumn, winter and spring. These seasons have their own, very characteristic charm. The rhythm of life is more relaxed, the beaches and hiking trails lonely, the climate very pleasant and the evening and morning moods are often breathtakingly beautiful.
Vence offers numerous shopping opportunities for every need. Local farmers and traders sell their goods on the central Place du Grand Jardin, a two-minute walk away. The offer is rounded off by partly Supermarkets, shops of all kinds, as well as boutiques and galleries within walking distance.
In the small, picturesque, romantic squares in the old town of Vence there are a large number of good restaurants with French and international cuisine. In the vicinity, gourmets can expect numerous top restaurants such as the Les Bacchanales and the famous Colombe d’Or in St. Paul de Vence.

Up to 42 days before the start of the rental period, no compensation is due. Up to 21 days before the start of the rental period, 50% of the rental price is due; after that, 100% of the rental price is due. If the tenant ends the stay prematurely, they remain obliged to pay the full rental price.

The two medieval towns of Vence and the "sister" Saint-Paul de Vence are embedded in the lovely hilly landscape northwest of Nice. The houses and alleys of the old town of Vence, arranged like a snail shell, the castle, the former palace and the rose chapel of Matisse are well-known tourist attractions. Vence, a city of artists, is also known as the «city of flowers» and «city of water». The well-preserved "wash house", twenty wells and numerous springs ensure the water supply for the well-tended private and public parks. The "Fontaine Vieille", which gave the villa and the street its name, is one of these many sources.
Freetime activities
The beaches of Cagnes sur Mer, Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Theoule sur Mer, Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu sur Mer and others are easily accessible by car. There are usually showers on the pebble and sandy beaches. Vence's well-kept public swimming pool receives its water directly from one of the springs.
From south to north, the varied coastal landscape with flat beaches and azure blue water (Cotes d’Azur) extends into the hilly central hinterland (Moyen Pays) and finally into the mountainous "Alpes Maritimes Provencales" (Hautes Pays). In this varied landscape there are countless routes for hikers, bikers, cyclists and riders, from easy to very demanding. Information brochures with detailed route information are available in the apartments.
Drive up the Col de Vence, to the St.Barnabe plateau, into the Wolfsschlucht (Gorge du Loup) and through the untouched hinterland of Vence. Visit the impressive Verdon Gorge and two of the most beautiful villages in France - Tourtel and Gourdon. Wine lovers will find well-known wine regions in the region north of Toulon (Côtes de Provence) and in the Var region (Côtes de Varois).
The artist places Saint Paul de Vence (world-famous exhibition Fondation Maeght), Antibes (old town and port, Picasso Museum, Cap d’Antibes), Vallauris (Picasso clay works), Haut de Cagnes (Renoir House) are always worth a visit.
Visit the cities of Nice (Old Town, Matisse Museum, Promenade des Anglais), Cannes (Old Town, Croisette, Esterel Mountains, Iles de Lerins) and Monaco (Casino and Prince's Palace). St. Tropez and Port Grimaud are also only 1 ½ hours away by car.
A visit to the perfume city of Grasse is almost a must. On the way there lies the romantic village of Tourrettes le Loup. The patisserie Florian on the way is also worth a detour.
