Are you looking for peace and quiet in the forest, would you like a place to come and switch off? Our small dreamy cottage is located in the middle of a landscape conservation area in the Zschopau valley, surrounded by forests, hills and the rushing Zschopau. A clean river for swimming, fishing and canoeing. There is direct access to the water on our fenced property
The area is an excellent hiking area with hiking trails around Krumbach, Sachsenburg, Frankenberg and Mittweida. Former mining tunnels, an open-air mining museum and many castles in the region, invite you to visit.
Of course, you can also explore the area by bike. For your physical well-being, there is a fully equipped kitchen in the house, shopping facilities in Mittweida and a restaurant nearby that offers regional cuisine.

Pure relaxation and rest

In search of a suitable spot for a few days of relaxation, I found this wonderful little piece of land. It is very important to us when choosing a holiday home that our dog is welcome and can move around like at home. The large, fenced property was ideal for her. But we two-legged ones had nothing to complain about either. We were personally welcomed and received an introduction to the house (which saves us the hassle of tinkering and trying). A contactless pick-up would be no problem with the perfectly prepared information folder for the house. Since we arrived on Sunday, even groceries were provided for us. And as a welcome gesture, a nice tray with wine glasses and a bottle of wine was waiting for us. The holiday home left nothing to be desired. The living area is cozy and comfortably designed (with a fireplace that provided extra coziness in the evenings after our excursions in early November), the kitchen is utterly lovely, allowing for self-catering, and the bathroom is modern and warm. In the first night, I dreamed so vividly that I could swear to this day that the dream was real. For me, it's a sign that the somewhat remote location truly offers relaxation. We sincerely thank the Geenen family for the short but very pleasant stay, and if we find ourselves in the region again, we would gladly return.

Simply Beautiful

Very nice hosts! Everything you need for daily use is available in the house. Very clean and well maintained. Very cozy furnishings. Right by the water. Shopping facilities nearby. Good connection to the highway.

Wonderful vacation

We had a wonderful week in the holiday home. There was nothing that we didn't like. Starting with the handover of the house, the very good and complete furnishings, and the cleanliness, everything was tip-top. In addition, the friendliness and helpfulness of the landlords.

The location of the house is first-class, directly on a tributary of the Zschopau. The large garden is very idyllic, thanks to the high fencing, large shrubs, and trees, there is a lot of privacy on the beautiful terrace. Even our dog felt very comfortable right from the start.

The landlords even provided us with some groceries, which we had never experienced in any holiday home before... thanks again for that.

The house, terrace, and garden are very nicely designed, exactly to our taste, and we will definitely spend our vacation here again.

Natural and comfortable

At the beginning of 2023, we had a very restful and comfortable stay at the small house by the forest. The amenities left nothing to be desired, the hosts were very friendly and attentive to the well-being of their guests. The location is a bit remote, directly by the forest. Highly recommended for nature lovers, but the nearby city of Chemnitz and the Erzgebirge also offer something for every taste. The Zschopautal is one of the areas that still hold many discoveries.

The pictures have already shown a lot about the cosiness of the accommodation and the wonderful landscape. Everything you need is there.
It was a very relaxing and beautiful holiday. There is a lot of peace and quiet and you can hike beautifully. That's all we wanted and needed. Very nice landlords.

Perfect for a few days of me-time

I chose this holiday home for the following reasons: After a stressful period at work, I wanted to spend a few days just for myself, enjoy nature, be a bit away from civilisation and organise the day according to my needs as they arise. This holiday cottage turned out to be the perfect place for me.

The house is equipped with everything you need. In addition to everything already mentioned in the description, there are also numerous non-perishable or long-storable food items. The landlord even brought fresh eggs and butter to welcome us. What a service!
At the beginning, there is a good introduction to all the equipment and special features, so that no question is left unanswered

Theoretically, you can also move in and out of the house without contact, but I find the landlords so likeable that I can only recommend meeting them at least once vis-a-vis.

The location of the house is at the end of a dead-end street, where the road already has the character of a field path. A hiking trail leads directly past the house and can be walked in both directions. The Zschopau river is within walking distance and had an incredible charm, especially at the time of leaf colouring. Those who prefer to hike across wide meadows can take the path in the other direction and will not be disappointed either.

Conclusion: I enjoyed every day of my holiday in the Geenens' house and was a little sad that it couldn't be a few more days

Thank you very much, dear Mrs. and Mr. Geenen, for fulfilling everything I had hoped for. Not a single wish remained unfulfilled.

Successful holiday with dogs

The house is beautifully located, directly on the edge of a forest. Many meadows and fields invite you to hike and enjoy nature. No expense was spared in furnishing the holiday home. Everything you need is available. Even the refrigerator was filled with some groceries. The hosts are very nice and attentive. Our dogs felt very comfortable in the large garden. By car, you can reach the nearest town with various shopping facilities in about 15 minutes. We will be happy to come back!

Restful vacation

We felt very comfortable in this beautiful holiday home, the location is great, you can really relax here, even small hikes are possible. Everything you need is available in the house, the landlords are very nice and always reachable if you need help. The house is tastefully furnished, the terrace invites you to relax. We had our dog with us, there were bowls and a cushion for him, which we found very attentive, he also felt comfortable in the beautiful garden.

Our recommendation, you can forget everyday life here and find peace!

Dreamlike retreat

Very quiet location, beautiful walking possibilities, English cottage style bungalow with fireplace and ample wood. The interior speaks for itself...even the small details like the vintage retro stove or the fur blankets/rugs. Unfortunately, we didn't have much luck with the weather, but that was compensated by the romantic fireplace and ambiance.
We had our dog with us, who was very happy with the huge garden. The hosts are very welcoming, always available and animal-friendly. Equipment for dogs is also available (bed, bowls, etc.)
WiFi, television, Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, and above all a Nintendo Wii game console with enough games for young and old! We have a twelve-year-old son and he also felt very comfortable.
One of the highlights for us was the conservatory where you can enjoy a wonderful brunch.
Plus points for privacy and secret walking paths of the landlord.
Anytime gladly again!

Lovely vacation home in the countryside

We had a very nice and relaxing time in the holiday house. Our dog also felt very comfortable in the large garden and cozy house.
The holiday house was clean, superbly furnished, and the decor shone with attention to detail. The hosts were very warm.
We spent the time cozying up by the fireplace, playing games in the conservatory, grilling on the terrace, and hiking in the area, and we would love to come back.

Idyllic gem to feel good

The cottage is located at the end of a very lightly traveled small village street, right at the edge of the forest. The large property (with beautiful old trees) along the Zschopau river is very well maintained, and paddlers and canoeists can start tours directly from the accommodation.

We mainly used our time in Krumbach for cycling and hiking; the immediate surroundings offer many possibilities for this.

We were particularly fascinated by the tastefully and lovingly furnished holiday home. The accommodation, furnished in cottage style, impressed us especially with its many small, coordinated details! We didn't miss anything in the cottage. The kitchen and amenities were very well equipped and everything was very clean.
We must also mention the special hospitality of the landlords. We were welcomed with great warmth! In addition to fresh fruit, eggs, jam, coffee, and tea, the spice rack was also extensively stocked. All the little things that you often lug around or buy on site during a vacation rental were there! The cottage deserves top marks for that alone.

So, if you are looking for a quiet break in the countryside, with comfort and ambiance, you are in the right place at Waldhaus Krumbach.
