Ine the middle of the city. Close to everything the city has to offer. Shops, cinemas, restaurants, cafes, museums etc. Stavanger is Norways 4th largest city and is located in Rogaland county which often is referred to as "Norway in a nutshell !" as you here find everything Norway is renowned for : Deep fjords, high mountains, flat farmland, white sandy beaches and nice coves for boating in Ryfylke. Also known as the "Oil Capital" of Norway, and is perhaps the most international city in the country. There are lots of restaurants, bars, pubs, cafees and nightclubs around the inner harbour, where they sell flowers, vegetables, fruit and seafood during the day. Stavanger is European Capital of Culture is perfect for shopping, walking in all the pedestrian cobblestone streets or as a starting point for fjord cruises and museum visits. Also close by are some of Norway's best beaches along the west coast.
