The holiday home “Herrmann-Cottage 2”, located only 18 km from Colombo International Airport in Waikkal, is one of 2 family holiday homes with a 6 x 12 meter communal pool.
The total living area is approx. 140 sqm, all rooms are furnished.
The holiday home consists of 2 double rooms with air conditioning (A/C) and mosquito nets over the beds. Each room includes a bathroom with a toilet (hot water is available throughout and is heated with solar panels), a large living room, and a built-in kitchen with a gas stove, electric oven, refrigerator, and small appliances.
The bedrooms and the living room are equipped with ceiling fans.
Additionally, there is a terrace with a table and chairs, as well as a well-maintained garden.
There is a DSL/WLAN internet access (limited use). All rooms in the house as well as the terrace are tiled.
The house accommodates max. 4 people, ideal for a vacation with family or friends, as well as for seniors - Naturally also for long-term vacationers.

It is about 200 m to the beach. Colombo airport is 18 km away (approx. 30 minutes by car), the nearest larger town is about 5 km, and the tourist town of Negombo is about 9 km away, making it an ideal starting point for all sights in Sri Lanka.
For taxi rides and tours to various sights (in an air-conditioned minibus), we are happy to assist you by arrangement. For shorter trips such as shopping, you can hire a driver with a tuk-tuk. The house is located in the small fishing village of Waikkal (Kammala) and is very quietly situated.
A shared pool – which is approx. 12 m long and 6 m wide – is available to guests of the two houses “Herrmann-Cottage” and “Herrmann-Cottage 2”. The pool is located approx. 150 m from “Herrmann-Cottage 2”. At the Ayurveda Center in the immediate vicinity, you can enjoy a professional all-round Ayurvedic treatment. | Price for the complete house 35,- Euro per day (up to 2 persons) For 3 to 4 persons 40,- Euro per day for the complete house Should the household help be used, the costs for the . Electricity consumption is charged per kw (35,- Rupees Cent). A deposit of 20% of the total rental price is required at the time of booking. This is to be transferred to an account in Germany. The remaining amount is to be paid on site. Bed linen, gas, internet and water are included in the rental price. Additional offers: Airport transfer there and back costs ,- Rs (30 Euro). For those interested, we offer deep sea fishing, big game fishing and coral reef snorkelling.
An experienced local fisherman will take you by small boat to the best fishing and snorkelling spots in the area.
Deep sea fishing:
We take you out to the open sea, where you can have several hours of fun fishing. With a little luck, your meals will be secured for the rest of your holiday ;-).
Big game fishing:
Or you can decide to go big game fishing. Then the experienced fisherman will fish with you on the open sea until you have caught a big fish.
We will be happy to help you prepare the fish or enjoy a nice barbecue.
Snorkelling in the coral reef:
Here you will be driven to certain spots, can watch the fish by snorkelling and marvel at the beautiful coral reefs.

Again and again
For the 4th time we were allowed to enjoy the house for 4 weeks. Spacious, cosy and very quiet location. Only a few steps away from the sea. The Ayuwedic centre is very close. Noni and Suranga (couple in the house next door) are always trying to fulfil every wish, Noni with great cooking skills, cleaning the house, Suranga as Tuc-Tuc driver, drives daily early in the morning to the fish market to always buy fresh fish. It was just another great and relaxing time.

Great house!
Beautiful house in a truly Western standard, fully equipped. There is nothing to complain about! The pool, although not located right next to the house, is large, clean and only for the residents of the house. A 4 km distance to the supermarket, the nearest shop is 300 meters from the house, with 3 restaurants at a similar distance (for different budgets). There is no problem with transportation to the city, as tuk-tuks are constantly circling around, and there is also a driver-cousin of the owner available on site, who can easily pick up guests from the airport. I highly recommend it!
