With great attention to detail, we have restored/renovated the "Lütt Huus". Living under thatched roof is characterized by a special atmosphere and charm.
The year of construction is approx. 1830, and so you will find a ceiling height of 2.2m on the ground floor and doors with low passage height. The old fireplace—formerly an open hearth—has been fitted with a fireplace insert and provides cozy warmth on cool summer evenings and cold winter nights.
The kitchen is equipped with every comfort. Here you will find ample cookware, dishwasher, multifunction oven with microwave, coffee machine, toaster, etc. Cozy warmth is provided by underfloor heating and a towel radiator.
The small shower room (shower 90x120cm) is modernly equipped with a wall-hung toilet, washing machine, towel radiator, and underfloor heating.
In the dining area, you can spend sociable hours and game nights with friends and family at the large dining table. In the attic there is a bedroom with a built-in wardrobe and a double bed (140x200cm). In the second sleeping area there is a single bed (90x200cm).
The garden, with its large terrace, covered veranda, and lawn area, invites you to relax at any time of day.

Location and surroundings of object
Our "Lütt Huus" is located between Schleswig (19km) and Kappeln (14km) directly on the B 201. The Baltic Sea fjord Schlei to Lindaunis is 6 km away. Flensburg is 30 km away. The Baltic Sea with its many beautiful beaches is within easy reach.
Various bakeries, supermarkets (EDEKA, REWE, Lidl, Aldi, Rossmann etc.), as well as various shops and doctors can be reached in a distance of 1-2km. The train station Süderbrarup is about 1km away. A bus stop is on the opposite side of the road. From here you can get directly to Schleswig or Kappeln.

The Schlei region fascinates with the changing colours of the gently rolling fields, stately farms and estates, lovingly designed thatched cottages and small bays invite you to linger. Along the Schlei you will find interesting and picturesque towns such as Schleswig, Missunde, Lindaus, Siseby (thatched-roof village), Bad Arnis (Germany's smallest town with fewer than 300 inhabitants), Kappeln, Maasholm and Flensburg. Natural and unspoilt landscapes, far from mass tourism, are what the Angeln region between the Schlei and the Baltic Sea has to offer.
The Angelnder Hügelland and the Schlei will enchant you.

- Flensburg : the hyggelige city on the fjord. The small harbour metropolis with Scandinavian flair in the immediate vicinity of the Kingdom of Denmark with its winding alleys, backyards and historic harbour.

- Kiel, Lübeck and the cosmopolitan city of Hamburg (musicals, Elbe Philharmonic, harbour, etc.) are all within easy reach

A cozy vacation home with a great feel-good character.
We, that is the lady and gentleman with our Ben, felt wonderfully comfortable in this beautiful thatched house (built in 1724). The house has been completely renovated with love for detail and very tastefully furnished. Above all, the kitchen and bathroom leave nothing to be desired. The starting point is ideal for excursions to the Geltinger Birk, Maasholm, Kappeln, the fishing village of Arnis, and the country doctor café in Lindau. Everything can be reached within 30 minutes or less by car. The evenings in the cozy living room have given us a glimpse of how people lived here more than 200 years ago.
The completely fenced garden is also great for relaxing - the dog enjoyed it greatly as well.
The noise from the federal road mentioned here is audible, but not necessarily disturbing. Especially at night and on weekends, it is quiet. It should also be noted that the new windows absorb a lot of sound. It is nice to see that there are people who dedicate themselves to the certainly very challenging task of restoring such an old house.
We will definitely come back, dear family Schrödter.

Cozy and comfortable
We (family with two children, a dog) have spent our vacation here for the second time and enjoyed it very much. The cottage is cozy, has everything you need in terms of equipment, and the garden invites you to play and enjoy the sun. The location between Schleswig and Kappeln is great for excursions, as it takes at most half an hour. It is not far from the North Sea either. The uncomplicated and friendly communication with Ms. Schrödter is another plus point. Would love to come back!

Had a great vacation
Dear Schrödter family,
In June, we had the pleasure of staying in your vacation home in Groß-Brebel for 8 days. It is simply adorable, exactly as described, and equipped with all amenities. It was great for our dog too... the large, beautifully fenced garden, and the wonderful walking path right next door.
We had wonderful days there and will definitely come back again. Thank you also for the friendly correspondence.

Very beautiful house, unfortunately wrong location
The house is very lovingly furnished and has everything you need. The contact with the landlord is very pleasant and friendly. We do not recommend the house for taller people because, due to the structural conditions, there are restrictions on the ceiling height for tall people. (Not throughout the house) We unfortunately cannot recommend the house because it is located on a busy federal road, so there is corresponding noise pollution. We were fortunate to have great weather, but sitting in the garden and having a conversation was not possible due to the noise from the road. The garden is located at the back of the house.

Wir bedauern, dass Sie das so empfunden haben. Doch die verkehrsgünstige Lage, die es begünstigt, eben mal schnell zum Bäcker, zum Supermarkt oder auch zu Stränden und umliegenden Städten zu fahren, macht den Standort so attraktiv. Die Schleiregion ist sehr stark landwirtschaftlich geprägt. Die Lage an der B201 ist ebenso wie die, bei so alten Reetdachhäusern häufig anzutreffende geringe Deckenhöhe und auch die Höhe der Türen in unserer Objektbeschreibung dargestellt worden.
Wir hoffen, Sie behalten trotzdem die malerische Schleiregion, die ruhigen Naturstrände und die Herzlichkeit der hier lebenden Menschen in positiver Erinnerung. Viele Grüße aus dem schönen/echten Norden

Oasis of well-being
We stayed in this quaint thatched house for 10 days and felt very comfortable. It is a bit of a shame that we saw it too late on the internet. My wife and I wish you, Mrs. Schrödter, a lot of fun with your beautiful little house and all the best for the future.

For once in my life I wanted to own a thatched-roof cottage. It should be in Schleswig-Holstein, no matter where in the northernmost federal state. By chance we found the "Lütt Huus" in Brebel. The Schlei and the Angelner Hügelland were not so familiar to me before. We embarked on the adventure and are thrilled. It took a lot of energy, strength and time to make the "Lütt Huus" what it is now. First and foremost, I would like to thank my husband, who supported me in fulfilling my dream, and without the commitment and good cooperation of all the craftsmen, it would not have been possible. Thank you very much. Now we would like to share our good fortune with many guests and explore the north-east of Schleswig-Holstein together.
