Villa Maria is located on a hill in the popular and lively holiday resort of Fonyod. From the entrance of the house you can see part of Lake Balaton, which you can reach on foot in five minutes.
In the lovingly renovated holiday home in original Hungarian style, you will find everything you need for a holiday with your family on 80 sqm.
Two spacious double rooms with ample space for your wardrobe invite you to relax and rest. The modern kitchen offers you everything you need for cooking, from a refrigerator, a freezer, an oven, a stove, to a dishwasher and many other appliances. If you do not wish to eat on the terrace, there is a dining table with 4 chairs available in the kitchen.
From the cozy living room with television and a wood stove, you can go directly to the terrace with barbecue facilities through a large glass double door.
The bathroom is also modernly renovated. A spacious, ground-level glass shower allows for comfortable showering. In the bathroom, our washing machine is also at your disposal.
The house has no heating. However, should it get cooler in spring or autumn, you can make your home cozy and warm with the wood stove in the living room. In the bathroom, a modern infrared mirror provides pleasant warmth. The warm, renovated wooden floorboards, the white wooden doors, and the special, style-appropriate paint on the walls create a very special feel-good atmosphere.
The house is completely fenced in and the garden gate can be locked. The house is secured with an alarm system. You can park your car safely in the driveway at the house.

Location and surroundings of object

The popular holiday resort of Fonyod is situated between the two peaks of a mountain that was created directly on the lake, the Castle Mountain and the Sipos Mountain
Therefore, from the various mountains with the many viewpoints, you can watch probably the most beautiful and spectacular sunset on Lake Balaton, and the view of the opposite shore is also something special in other ways. As Fonyod is situated on the south side of the lake, you are sure to enjoy the sun on the beach until late in the evening in summer.
Fonyód not only offers a beautiful town centre, but also gives the impression of a small mountain town with its narrow, winding streets and alleys
With eleven beaches, Fonyod is unsurpassed in terms of bathing and water sports facilities. From the holiday home, you can reach the large panoramic beach in five minutes on foot. With its many sports and leisure activities, its wonderful adventure playgrounds and large sunbathing areas, and its level access to the water, it is particularly suitable for families. It is the only beach with a 200m long sandy area on the whole of Lake Balaton.

But Fonyod also has a lot to offer outside the bathing holiday. Conveniently, you can reach almost everything on foot from your holiday home. Walk along the countless viewpoints at altitude on wonderful hiking trails or promenade romantically in the evening on one of the longest piers on the lake. The range of restaurants in the immediate vicinity (5 minutes on foot) and the numerous events in the summer months leave nothing to be desired.
If you like to cook for yourself, visit the traditional market in Fonyod on Wednesdays or Saturdays - the largest in the entire Balaton - and stock up on regional delicacies
You can also quickly reach one of the numerous discounters, such as Lidl, Aldi, Edeka or DM.
Do you like cycling? Simply start at the front door on one of the sea routes and when you are tired, take the train or a ferry back.
It is also not far from Fonyod by car or train to the thermal baths in Heviz or Marcalli. The impressive nature reserve "Kis Balaton" is also in the immediate vicinity

Perfect for a beach vacation with a dog

My wife, our Lenox (German Shepherd) and I spent wonderful days at Villa Maria from June 18 to 25. The house is only five minutes away from the spacious and very clean dog beach in Fonyod. The restaurants and shops are all within walking distance.
Everything in the house is very clean and everything you need for the household is really available. Unfortunately, we had a huge mosquito infestation during our stay. The sky was completely dark from the bugs. I have already been to Lake Balaton several times, but I have never experienced anything like this before. But nobody can be blamed for that. I can only recommend the house 100%, we will definitely come back, maybe even this autumn. If Mrs. Meusel will accommodate us again.

Dream house at Lake Balaton

A truly beautiful holiday home furnished with great attention to detail. We felt very comfortable here, we have never seen such a well-equipped holiday home... the location is simply top, you can see Lake Balaton from the terrace. Just a few meters and you are at the pier, restaurants, but you can also find absolute peace and quiet here. We have recovered very well, yes, the road in front of the house cannot be denied, but it didn't matter to us at all, the house is simply a dream and lovingly furnished, and the view makes you forget everything else, even the mosquitoes... Absolute recommendation, thank you Ms. Meusel for allowing us to spend our vacation in your holiday home.

We spent 10 wonderful days in Fonyod. The house had everything we needed. The breakfast with a view of Lake Balaton was especially beautiful. Everything can be reached quickly on foot. Both the beach and shopping opportunities and the weekly market are nearby. Nevertheless, it is quiet. We can only recommend it. Top!!

Super holiday flat, suitable for families

The location of the apartment is just great. own parking space / driveway... everything you need was there. 5 minutes to the beach or to the Spar market and 5 minutes to the weekly market which is highly recommended, this takes place 2-3 times a week depending on the season. There is no need to worry about security as the police station is around the corner. There is also a kebab/pizza shop 3 minutes on the right in the direction of the weekly market. The flat is rustic, typically Hungarian...we felt very comfortable. Small folding cot and children's high seat (stool), TV, shower, fan in every room, ceramic hob in kitchen, fridge with small freezer compartment. Pots, dishes, glasses and cutlery were all available. Outside barbecue including chairs and glass table...Super!!! I recommend the apartment 100%. Very reliable and accommodating landlady. 1 A Top. We will be happy to come back.

Very clean and beautiful house. Everything you have at home you will find here as well. Everything is easily within walking distance, including the beach (for which you have to pay), which is clean. There were four of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and we can't find anything negative.

Cozy holiday home located very centrally and close to Lake Balaton.

In the lovingly furnished Villa Maria, everything is available for a relaxing holiday. The house and garden are well maintained. Conveniently, the property is fenced, so our two-year-old son could play indoors and outdoors without any concerns. The central location is ideal. Within a short walk, we could reach the beach, the Fonyod market, go shopping, and access various other shopping opportunities. Super autumn holidays in a beautiful house

We spent our autumn holidays in Mrs Meusel's house. The house is really tip-top furnished and very clean and cosy. Everything you need is there. We especially liked the large terrace that can be accessed from the living room. In the evening we sat outside and could watch TV from the terrace into the living room. The contact with the landlady was pleasant and the handing over of the keys in the holiday resort went smoothly. As we were very lucky with the weather, we were even able to enjoy some wonderful days at the beach.

Bad luck

Unfortunately, the location of the house did not correspond to reality at all. It is not a quiet side street as we had to experience. From & o clock in the morning, the first liner buses and construction site lorries's start. So get up and close the windows quickly, otherwise there is no chance of sleeping on. In August, it is Mallorca Feeling at Lake Balaton. On the first night, the music from the beach was so loud that you had to turn up the TV if you didn't want to party until 2am. In addition, the railway line also ensures that the noise level remains high. Eating on the terrace in the evening is no fun either because hundreds of holidaymakers from the beach and to the beach walk right past the terrace. You feel like you are in a zoo. Only the equipment of the house can be rated positively.
We left early and went to DE to relax a bit more.

Liebe Gäste, Fonyod ist einer der beliebtesteten Ferienorte am Balaton. Da wird es selbstverständlich in der Hauptsaison etwas lebhafter, wenn man in Seenähe wohnen möchte. Diese Lebendigkeit hat aber keinesfalls Ballermannausmaße !! Auch die Musik, die man abends auf der Terrasse meist an den Wochenenden an den lauen Sommerabenden noch hört, gleicht sicher nicht einer Disco. Meist spielt eine Band auf der kleinen Bühne und die Gäste sitzen in den Restaurants beim Essen. Die Veranstaltungen enden immer gegen 24:00 Uhr. Ein guter Tipp wäre statt an warmen Sommerabenden fern zu sehen, einfach hinunter zum Hafen zu schlendern und dabei zusein.

Hot summer days at the beautiful Balaton

Luckily, the days and nights in Fonyod were not quite as hot as back home in Germany. And so we had a great vacation. Above all, our children (7 and 9) had a lot of fun swimming in the shallow, pleasantly warm waters of Lake Balaton. We tried out every beach in the area and almost all of them were to our liking. We felt comfortable in our holiday home. Everything was there as described. The house is nicely and comfortably furnished, and there is plenty of space for clothes. There is even a washing machine. Above all, the house was super clean, and on the terrace, since it also has shady times, it was very pleasant to stay. We found it convenient that we could quickly walk to the beach and town center.

Very nice house

We stayed at Villa Maria with our son for 2 weeks in May. We really liked the absolutely clean and very beautifully, newly furnished house
It had everything you need for a perfect holiday.
The information given by the landlord is 100 percent true.
The beautiful beach and the centre could be reached in a few minutes on foot. We also recommend the very large weekly market in town.
We had very nice weather in May and the water in Lake Balaton was also pleasantly warm.
All in all, everything was just right and we will definitely be back.

Everything fine, only to recommend

Great house, we were very satisfied. My husband and I stayed at Villa Maria for 2 weeks in autumn. We immediately noticed that it was super clean and looked exactly like the photos. And we really liked the Hungarian style of the house. The house radiates warmth and is very light and bright.
In the autumn evenings it can get quite chilly at Lake Balaton, but the wood-burning stove in the living room quickly made the rooms cosy and warm, and there is a modern infrared heater in the bathroom
On sunny days, we could also sit on the terrace and use the barbecue
As hiking fans, we were able to gain many beautiful impressions on our tours around Lake Balaton. We especially liked the nature reserve "Kis Balaton". Seeing the herd of buffalo there is an absolute must! To relax, we went to the thermal baths in Heviz and the small thermal baths in the immediate vicinity of Fonyod. Everything can be reached very quickly from Fonyod

Our highlight was the train ride to Budapest. The train connection from Fonyod is excellent. All in all, highly recommended!

Beautiful house newly renovated house in absolute proximity to the beach.

We were the first guests of the Meusel family last summer to spend our vacation in their beautifully renovated house, and we felt very comfortable. You can tell that the owners also use the house themselves. It is absolutely clean and well-maintained, and lovingly and modernly furnished. Especially the beautiful, new bathroom with the large shower appealed to us and our two children. In the house, everything a family with 2 children needs to spend a relaxing holiday is really available. You can even use the washing machine. We also really liked that the terrace was covered and protected us from the sun because it was really hot last summer at Lake Balaton. It's great that the house is completely fenced too. This way, we adults could sit on the terrace while the children played on the lawn. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the wonderful, family-friendly beach every day. It's truly only 3 minutes away. We have often spent our holidays at Lake Balaton, but the holiday resort Fonyod has completely convinced us. It offers a lot of variety for young and old. We loved it and have already booked for summer 2018.

Already on my first holiday at Lake Balaton, I fell in love with the beautiful lake, which in some places seems as wide as the sea The house in Fonyod was a real stroke of luck. For it is centrally located and just the right size for a small family. A local Hungarian construction company was commissioned with the renovation, which was true to the style and yet modern, so that all the work was carried out professionally. I attached particular importance to the design of the walls and looked for a long time for a painter who still masters this technique of painting patterns with a roller. I hope you will feel as comfortable in my house as my family does. Should anything not be to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to contact me.
