The 'Franchina' Cottages are two gracious little houses, made out of dry stone, called 'trullo' or 'pajara' but different from the Alberobello Trullo. The two houses contain three small apartments. The left one is divided in two aptms, with 2 double bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom & verandas in front of the sea.These apartments are named 'Mare verde' and"mare azzurro". The right house, 'Mare blu' has only one bedroom but is more useful with a bigger kitchen, bigger living room with fireplace and a splendid veranda . In the living room there is a divan-bed for 2 (queen size). The rustic garden, located on a terraced down hill that reaches a pristine reef, is filled with secular olive trees, holm-oaks & Mediterranean plants. It’s equipped with outdoor barbecues, pizza-oven & hammocks, offering to the guests splendid shady corners to relax. You can rent one or both the cottages.

The cottages la franchina are between the harbour of Tricase and Santa Maria di Leuca,the tip of the italian "spur",the ancient lapygium promontorium.The splendid adriatic sea is crystal clear in this area sheltered by spectacular cliff and marine grottoes enchanting with amazing concretions and charming plays of light. ARRIVAL BY AIR: Brindisi is the nearest airport.RYANAIR fly from London to Brindisi or Bari at a very low cost fare.Then you can rent a car at the airpt (try on www.thrifty.it). ARRIVAL BY CAR: take the highway south to LECCE;arriving Lecce,before entering turn right andthen proceed to the direction of Maglie,S.Maria di leuca and Montesano,then Tricase.Crossing Tricase go to Tricase Porto and join the coast road sp358 in direction of S.M.di Leuca. At Km 37.700 there is a sign board(Oasi bar),turn left, go down the hill and after about 2 KM (the last 300mt are not asphalted)you will see a blue wooden gate on your right with a ceramic fish on top.
