CASA LISA is a small former farmhouse built by Transylvanian Saxons about 100 years ago in the dreamy village of Cund/Reussdorf - near Sighisoara/Schässburg. The house was lovingly renovated by the owner and transformed into a romantic holiday home in country house style. The renovation was carried out exclusively with workers from the village, largely with reused, old materials and according to traditional handicraft methods.
CASA LISA is located near the entrance to the village with a view of the surrounding hills, fields and woods. The beautiful, approx. 700 sqm large property is completely fenced and extends at the rear end to a small stream. Towards the village road, a wooden gate protects against unwanted glances. In the enclosed garden, children will find plenty of space to play and explore. A kitchen garden has been created especially for you, where you can harvest fresh vegetables, herbs or berries depending on the season. Only a few steps away from the house begins the gentle hilly landscape with deciduous forests, fields, sheep pastures - pure peace and nature.
A small staircase leads to the entrance on the south side, through which you enter the first room. Here you will find a fully equipped country kitchen with ceramic hob, fridge/freezer combination, sink, cupboards, etc. At the front of the house is the bedroom, equipped with a double bed (180 x 200 cm with large mattress) and wardrobe, as well as a cot. Next door there is a small sleeping area for children with a bunk bed. Also from the kitchen you enter the small, very appealing bathroom. Instead of tiles, river stones were used here, you will find a shower cubicle, WC and washbasin.
Next to the bathroom, a staircase leads to the former shed, which we have converted into a spacious conservatory with dining area and sofas.
From here you enter directly into the green garden with vines, a fruit tree, herbs, etc.
The house is heated by means of a fireplace, which provides sufficient warmth for the sleeping areas even on cold nights. In the living room there is also a wood-fired kitchen cooker for heating, baking and cooking.
The owner speaks German and English and lives in the same village - is very happy to answer your questions and requests.

Wonderful days
Casa Lisa is a super holiday home. We liked it here in Cund right away. The house has a large kitchen with an adjoining dining area, a nice bedroom, an interesting bathroom, a large terrace and a beautiful garden planted with herbs and vegetables. Here we could really relax as there was no internet and mobile phone network and also no TV. A place of peace and relaxation. Here you feel as if you have landed in an earlier time. From the neighbour we heard the grunting of the pig, the clucking of the chickens, in the evening we saw and heard the flocks of sheep with the bells around their necks, the dogs in the neighbourhood barked and communicated with each other. The surroundings of Cund are beautiful with the cornfields and the whole landscape. In the evening we saw very beautiful sunsets again and again.
When we needed milk, we went to a resident in the village who brought the milk fresh from the cows in the evening, and we also got necessary vegetables there. The grocer was only a few steps away.
The Christian has created a little paradise here. He is very interested in his guests and also likes to have a little chat. One day we also visited him in his little shop in Sighisoara. It is stocked with natural products and very nicely decorated.
We liked it very much.
We wish him many more guests and good luck with his projects.

Very relaxing
Casa Lisa is a well-maintained cottage in a very relaxing rural environment. Indeed, the route into the village of Cund involves a gorgeous 20-minute drive on rough roads/dirt tracks. The garden is lovely and our two-year-old loved the sandpit, paddling pool, next-door pig and haystack. We barbecued most nights and really enjoyed having every meal in the garden. We also lit a fire most nights. The produce left in the cottage by Christian (fruit juice, liqueur, jam and wine) was excellent. The local people are very friendly, and we enjoyed eggs brought round by a neighbour thanks to Christian's help, as well as a horse and cart ride. We ordered wonderful oven-baked bread, local cheese and raspberries from a neighbour.
There is very little to do in the village. There are two basic grocery stores, but no park or play area. There is also no mobile reception other than up the hill opposite. We enjoyed visiting nearby Sighisoara and Biertan.

Wonderful
Casa Lisa in Cund is a place between now and yesterday, secluded in green, scenic surroundings and yet well connected (Targ Mures, Sighisoara, Sibiu, Medias). The Casa Lisa - a well renovated, solid, small Saxon house, neatly furnished, with everything you need - although this does not include television. Heating is provided by a centrally located wood fireplace, but we only used it one evening. The bathroom: small and functional - with shower cabin.
The kitchen is central to the house with a good fridge, 2 plate ceramic hob, large sink and plenty of storage space - generously placed. The oven is replaced by a traditional outdoor cooker in the adjacent open shed. It is wood-fired. We used it twice for braised dishes and were delighted.
The highlight for us was the garden located on the property. Lettuce, onions, garlic, peas, carrots, Mediterranean herbs as well as 3 different varieties of currants were at our disposal. Radishes were sown, strawberries had already been harvested. Pumpkins were still growing as well as grapes. Newly planted were cherry trees and a walnut tree.
The landlord, who comes from Austria, lives in Cund himself. He introduced us to a neighbour, Marcella, who sold us homemade tomato sauce and very good aubergine tomato puree. We were able to buy more food in a small shop (Magazin mixt) two houses away. The owner speaks some German, which made shopping easier. Through the Varga family in the centre of the village, we were able to buy very good homemade white bread, as well as fresh cow's milk and fresh cheese. The fact that the whole family speaks German helped us a lot.
There is also an upscale restaurant in town. They offer one set menu per day. The German owner is very wine afin, which was convenient for us. The day before we left, the staff organised some locally collected summer truffles for us. They kept us connected to the holiday for the next few days after we returned from Cund.
All in all, a very special kind of holiday - our best holiday so far.

just like before - only more comfortable!
In casa lisa, one glimpses the past. Relieved by the comfort of the house and the preparation, we enjoyed only the most beautiful sides of summer country life : - peace, simplicity, harvesting vegetables from our own garden, dairy products from the neighbour, open fire - spared from "polyacryl kitsch" and TV - everything touchingly simple and real and honest - does you good!
And you can also go out for a meal in this mini village - even the best! Christian gave us (besides delicious homemade apple juice) valuable tips - e.g. for the overnight stay in Sibiu - many thanks again! - Heike and Andreas
