We spent our annual autumn vacation at Haus Siebenschläfer with our little one (8 months old) and parents as well as in-laws. It was absolutely wonderful! We felt at home right from the start: everything is available. From an incredible amount of toys, shower gels, bed linen, towels, dishwashing liquid, hand creams, tissue box dispensers... simply everything that you have missed in many vacation rentals. The furnishings have been done with great attention to detail and are cozy. The kitchen is very generously equipped, there is really nothing missing. Even drinking straws are available, as well as an egg timer, proper cutlery and dishes that you could use for days without washing (which is anyway done by one of the two dishwashers). On rainy days, you won't get bored: you can choose from numerous books and games.
The garden is also incredibly lovingly arranged: no matter the weather, you will find a seating option for every weather! And the slide from the terrace into the garden is not only fun for the little ones.
There is a lot to discover, it is worth it in every way, after all, the surroundings are also not to be underestimated ;).

The artificially created nature reserve Bird Island in Altmühlsee has become an important breeding and resting place for numerous bird species. Over 300 species have been recorded, including sea eagles. You can explore Bird Island on a circular trail on your own or participate in a nature and birdwatching tour by LBV at Altmühlsee. Additionally, the region is rich in cultural heritage. One of the most important attractions is the Limes. At numerous locations, you can still discover remnants of the Romans in the Franconian Lake District. In Weißenburg, for example, there is a Roman fort and Roman baths. More exciting insights into Roman times are available at the Roman Museum. You can delve into the history of the Limes, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, at many places in the lake district. For instance, visit the Limeseum in the Roman Park Ruffenhofen or try to uncover the mystery of the Burgus at Burgsalach. Additionally, you should visit the charming small towns of the Franconian Lake District when renting accommodation. The hop town of Spalt is particularly worth seeing. A trip to the Altmühltal is also worthwhile. Marvel at the breathtaking landscape created by the river. A noteworthy town is Pappenheim with its imposing castle. Why not zip through the air! Three recreation centers are located at Roth Lake. Be sure to make a detour to the Roth Lake Environmental Station of the Bavarian League for Bird Protection. The Franconian Lake Plate is also an Eldorado for those who like to be active outdoors. 1,500 kilometers of hiking trails and varied cycling paths are part of the sweaty offer. A comprehensive supply of battery charging points ensures that you always have enough power on your e-bike. Have you had enough fun? Especially in the summer months, the holiday region Franconian Lake District offers a wide range of cultural events. Dennenlohe Castle is very worth seeing, and the castle park serves as the backdrop for events. The Bürgerhof in Muhr transforms from June to August into an open-air theater for the Altmühlsee Festival. Theater is also performed under the open sky at the chapel ruins in Pfofeld throughout the summer. Theater, cabaret, and visual arts are available at the Kunstforum Franconian Lake District. The association has its event spaces in Gunzenhausen and offers a sophisticated cultural program throughout the year.
The Franconian Lake District is located just about 50 kilometers southwest of Nuremberg and is well-connected by transport. If you are traveling by car to your vacation apartment, from the west take the A6 to the Burgoberbach exit and proceed via the B13 to Gunzenhausen. Coming from the east, exit the A6 at Schwabach and continue via the B466 to your vacation apartment. By train, you can reach your vacation apartment via the Gunzenhausen or Pleinfeld stations. The nearest airport is Nuremberg.
