We spent a wonderful week at Nora's. The property and the half of the house are very beautiful and quiet, yet centrally located for all destinations in the north. The house had everything we needed. In front of the house was our terrace, where we could sit under a large tree in the windy shade despite the heat in August, a dream. We also loved the (additional) outdoor shower on the terrace, even though it was completely new for us. In such a beautiful setting, one wouldn't usually shower, and it made the crowded bathroom experience (with 2 adults and 2 teenagers) more relaxed. The children loved the amazing pool the most, which was really large, warm, and yet refreshing. We even had it all to ourselves and almost developed swimming membranes by the end of the day ;-)
Nora is a great host, always approachable and very helpful. Plus, you can have a nice chat with her.
The nearby surroundings are also ideal. Although we were traveling during the peak season, we had an almost empty sandy beach with decent waves at the very eastern end of Archivari and a completely empty sandy beach, with a pebble/stone beach right in the water. The water there was very clear and pleasant. This beach was not managed, which we found perfect with our beach tent. In the small neighboring village, there are two very good restaurants with delicious food at very fair prices. But there are plenty of restaurants anyway.
If you're worried about the mosquitoes, which are often talked about in northeastern Corfu. We had no problems. The windows have mosquito nets, so we had none in the house. Otherwise, they only come out at dusk and then disappear again.
You can also hike really well here, but we'll try that out in somewhat cooler temperatures in the fall.
So - unconditional recommendation!
