We regenerated excellently before the main summer bathing season shortly after Easter in the cosy Finn cottage. We found the interior design very comfortable for two people, and when we entered the very spacious living-dining area, the feeling of "we will be able to relax here comfortably for the next few days" set in promptly, which then intensified during the following holiday days. My wife, a dedicated cook, was thrilled about the lavish kitchen equipment and spacious worktop, which also had a positive effect on me :)
Wonderful to wake up in the morning to the tops of the directly adjacent beech-oak-birch forest and to listen to the birdsong.
Super short, paved footpath to the beach (10 minutes) on foot or more adventurous immediately behind the house through the romantic deciduous forest directly on the beach path towards the imposing steep shore - here, by the way, a magnificent backdrop to the west to enjoy the sunset - also lying above the wooden groynes in the dune area.
Recommended bicycle trips to the nearby Bodden area along the old windmill, the potteries, the small romantic harbour, past ancient pollarded willows, reed beds with dreamy estates, developed as a sales museum . . .
Don't forget: climb the Wustrow church tower with its walkway!
For nature lovers and ornithologists (we experienced the sprinting sanderlings as coastal racers and trusting black-headed gulls at breeding), the wild west beach is also an absolute must for nature photographers: here you can see at first hand how the Baltic Sea erodes the high shore area and geologically interesting podsol layers appear. The "fairytale forest" of wind-twisted beech trunks reaching directly to the shore is also remarkable !
In bad weather, it is worth visiting the Ahrenshoop Art Museum with its local historical art scene and Lionel Feininger paintings.
A one-hour drive is well worth a visit to Stralsund's old town, the maritime museum and the magnificent Gorch Fock anchored directly in front of it with its cosy harbour fishing atmosphere. . A particularly recommendable atmosphere in the evening.
In short: In addition to its cosy qualities and very good comfort, the accommodation is an excellent base for exploring this contemplative Baltic Sea region.
