Our small and charming newly built Creole style semi-detached house is located in the authentic and lovely fishing village of Le Morne, with direct access to the beach just across the beach road from the cottage. Great emphasis was placed on meeting ecological aspects in the design phase. An example is the installation of a solar thermal system for water heating for the kitchen, bathroom and washing apartment is a duplex Maisonette, the upper floor comes with two
bedrooms and a separate bathroom. Le Morne Village is off the beaten track, so it’s a place to feel the
Creole soul and to discover the original way of living on the find anything that makes the heart of a surfer beat faster: flat
water, and a shallow area, just in front of the house and not crowded.
After a downwind trip of 10 minutes you can find waves for beginners (little reef), waves for advanced surfers (manawa) and expert waves (one eye). Depending on the wind direction surfing and kite surfing is possible right from your doorstep.
You find the nearest supermarket in the neighboring village of La Gaulette,
approximately 8 minutes by car or bus.
Food, local dishes and beverages can be bought in the snack shop just next door to the cottage. The Bus stop is just 20m away from the cottage, the bus network is very good and cheap on the Island. You find bus connections to the cities, interurban connections or along the coast. We recommend having a rental car but it is not absolutely necessary. This is an ideal destination to feel the Creole spirit and to get in touch with the day-to-day Mauritian find turquoise water and white sand beaches on the lagoon just
across the beach road from the house, or 10 minutes away by foot at “la Prairie” Beach. The island Ilot Fourneau is in the immediate vicinity of the cottage and can be discovered by low tide by cottage is located in a Mauritian fishing village – this means that you can hear the normal sounds of daily life in the village. In addition, a huge range of leisure activities is available at Le have direct access to the world famous wind - and kite surfing spot
at Le Morne lagoon. Depending on the wind direction, you can start a days surfing right in front of your holiday cottage.
Other activities in Le Morne are : sailing, beach fishing, deep sea fishing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving or hiking in the nearby national park.

Excellent
We were in Mauritius in November/December 2021.
We felt very comfortable in the holiday flat in Le Morne. Everything is available in sufficient quantity, crockery, towels. Very comfortable beds. Everything is very clean. It is cleaned twice a week. The pick up and return to the airport was on time and very friendly. The rented car via Frederic was brought on the day of arrival and picked up on the day of departure. It was all very uncomplicated. Next door in the kiosk you can drop off pots in the morning and pick up the ready cooked food in the evening. There are also small meals with rice and noodles at very reasonable prices and everything tastes delicious. We can highly recommend the accommodation.
