in Chablat

We spent a very relaxing time in Chablat in autumn 2016 with wonderful summer temperatures. The holiday home is very nicely furnished. The fenced garden was ideal for our dog, who could roam freely there. There are many beautiful hiking trails in the surrounding area, which you can reach directly on foot from the house or after a short drive by car. Mr Bergmann provided us with good tips here! Shopping can be done in Montbron, 10 minutes away. To reach the sights in the Perigord Noir, however, you have to plan up to 2 hours by car. The advantage at this time of year is that the crowds of visitors are limited and you can enjoy everything in a relaxed way. We will keep our time in Chablat in very good memory!

In the summer of 2014, we looked at and inspected many houses in many regions. Few were as beautiful and stylish as the Mirabelle house.

It is located on a property with 2 other similar houses - a smaller holiday home and the owner's house. However, they are separated from each other by the winding structure. Privacy is definitely guaranteed!

Since we also wanted to travel with our dog, we ultimately decided on this house. Also because the owner always responded exemplary and very nice and patiently answered all important questions in a short time (this is unfortunately often not the case with other properties!).

Although it is actually a bit remote, there is a bakery, a large Intermarche, and a veterinarian (not irrelevant for us!) within a 5 km radius. However, you should have a car available!

The house has all the necessary utensils for self-catering. We were able to prepare delicious meals and did not miss any restaurants. The round pool is located a few meters higher on an open meadow and has a wonderful view of the surroundings. The garden is completely fenced and quiet. 100% privacy!

We had such a quiet holiday for the first time. I can only recommend this house to anyone who enjoys cooking themselves and wants to enjoy a few days of peace. Maybe both houses for 2 couples?! It was a joy for us every day and simply France in its purest form.

We still have contact with the owner today. He always treated us kindly, openly, and in an exemplary manner, and took care of us. We will definitely come back!

Addendum: I went jogging there myself and took my racing bike with me. Please note that the hills also have slopes of 5-7%. Please be aware!

Mobile reception was okay with the D network. E network might be more difficult ;-)

We had an incredibly exhausting summer behind us and were naturally very much looking forward to a vacation. We hadn't really thought about what to expect. And after a drive to nowhere, we arrived. And literally so: the beautiful and lovingly furnished gîte, the wonderful garden and NOTHING! No cell phone reception, no television, nothing.
But instead quiet, a wonderful view, and a wonderful landlord who spoiled us with fruit and vegetables and gladly gave us tips for excursions or restaurants.
Did I mention the garden? Fig trees, apple trees, blackberries, grapes, flowers, various sunny spots, in short, a dream!
Even though Chablat is somewhat off the beaten path, there are many interesting sights nearby, and it was a good starting point for hiking as well.
We still talk about this vacation frequently and regret that so much time has passed since our stay.
