Eastern Styria is the eastern part of Styria, which is located in the center of Austria. This region is very rich in forests and crossed by mountains. You can easily arrive by train from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland. Train connections exist up to Graz, Gratkorn, and Deutschfeistritz along the Mur River Valley. To reach the villages on the mountain, use a bus, taxi, or rental car from the train stations. With your own car, you can travel comfortably to your holiday home or apartment in Eastern Styria. The S35 and S36 highways provide quick access to the area, where you can drive on well-developed roads to your accommodation. Be sure to purchase the highway vignette when crossing the border and attach it visibly to your vehicle. For those arriving by plane, there are several landing pads. The nearest major international airport is in Graz, from where you have good connections to Germany and all European metropolises.

Styria is one of the coldest regions in Austria, with an average daily temperature of about 11°C. The climate in Graz and its surroundings is similar to that found throughout Germany. It is often cool and rainy, with a few warm weeks expected in the summer. From May to August, the sun shines for up to 8 hours a day, while the rest of the year sees sunshine between 3 and 6 hours per day. Rain falls throughout the year, with at least 8 days per month. Between May and August, there are even between 12 and 15 rainy days per month. The highest daily rainfall amounts also occur during this time. In the summer, temperatures range between 10°C and 25°C.
