The villa is located in Porto Ottiolu a small place with mundane marina, bars restaraunts, supermarket, tennis and Fuß Viila itself is about 500 meters from the center and located on the outskirts, on a dead end, so absolute quiet location with unobstructed ocean view the Parco Marino Tavolara or the sandy beaches of Ottiolu and Budoni the entrance to the marina, so you see the sailboats and yachts innately garden away takes only a small path to the bay about 100m away (3-5 minute walk)
This can only be achieved through this path or by boat, so that these almost is like a small private bay, even in August to the absolute high season is here mostly alone and the dog can run freely there.
Even nudism is not a problem here

Dream holiday on the east coast of Sardinia in Porto Ottiolu
We, 3 families with 6 adults and 4 children aged 3-15 spent a wonderful and relaxing 14 days holiday in Villa Castel Smeralda in summer 2021. The accommodation is luxurious and leaves hardly anything to be desired. The location of the villa at the end of a small road is absolutely quiet, behind it begins a nature reserve. The house is very well maintained and furnished with great attention to detail. The view from the terrace to the sea is amazing and with the equipment like pool, whirlpool, several outdoor showers (also hot water), sun loungers, hammocks, pool house and barbecues you really have everything to relax. Evi and Fritz are extremely nice hosts who contributed to an all-round successful holiday with their valuable tips on excursions, beaches and restaurants.

Dream house in sensational location with sea view
The Castel Smeralda is truly an insider tip for a holiday on the east coast of Sardinia. The facilities and cleanliness are first class. Fantastically situated at the end of a dead-end street and behind the house only nature. Very beautiful huge pool in a wonderful garden with lots of privacy. Sensational sea view from all possible corners of the house. This is usually only offered by houses that cost 3x as much, if you can find any at all. Even a view-protected shower outside offers a sea view. Communication with the landlords, who live in Sardinia, was extremely friendly and pleasant. They are always there to help and advise. Many thanks again to Fritz and Evi for 10 unforgettable days. We give them a 200% recommendation.

Nice from far, far from nice
DIY built villa with humid rooms, leaking rain under the doors and from the roof. Swimming pool is hazardous for young children with no railings aside a terrace. This is a great looking house but pray there is no rain fall or it will ruin your holiday. We were 8 persons, one bedroom had leaking drips above the bed, two others had over 5 cm water on the floor. When you call the owner, he is either unavailable or furious that you are complaining for ‘minor problems’.
Owner rents out private cars with German licence plates while the insurance does not cover rental use…
Owner rents out parking space which he does not own.
If you are a gypsy this house is for you. Else, do look elsewhere.

Wellness and relaxation for the soul
Already after landing, we were picked up by the landlord at the airport and brought to the villa. Upon entering the terrace and the gigantic sea view, our expectations were far exceeded. We were warmly welcomed with Sardinian delicacies & wine. The villa, the pool and the entire property are in a very well-kept condition, stylishly and individually furnished. Equipment and comfort leave nothing to be desired. From the 55" TV to the top equipped kitchen, etc more than positively surprised. We have often stayed in holiday homes on the island, but never in such a great and unique villa as the Castel Smeralda. We enjoyed the pool, whirlpool and sauna to the full. It was mega beautiful! We can only highly recommend the villa and are already looking forward to our next holiday!

idyllic villa perfect for the summer time
The facility offers a fantastic view and invites you to relax with many cozy corners. You can feel how lovingly and detailed the house and garden were furnished by the owners. The villa is certainly even better suited for the hot summer months. Since the weather in April was rather cold and partly rainy, we were glad to have the stove, which immediately made the kitchen cozier. The nice landlords, Evi and Fritz, were sociable and very helpful, whether it was outing tips, providing an extra electric oven for the cold evenings, or getting the pool back in working order.

Perle am Meer
Die Vorfreude zum Start in den langersehnten Urlaub war groß,aber der Eindruck beim Betreten des Arials überwältigend.Wir hatten noch nie einen so weiten und unverbauten Meerblick,der zweite Blick auf Pool Gartenanlage und Villa ebenso eindrucksvoll,wir hatten die absolut richtige Wahl getroffen.Während unsere Kinder schon im Pool plaschten,wurden wir 6 Erwachsenen mit Gaumenfreuden der Insel verwöhnt.Dazu gab es die sehr wichtige Hauseiweisung und anschliesend sehr sehr viele interresante Insidertipps und Infos uber Land und Leute sowie Unternehmungen auf dem kleinen Kontinent.Obwohl wir nicht zum ersten mal in Sardinen waren, gab trotzdem viel zu erfahren.Fazit unseres 2 Wöchigen Urlaubes ist
Wir hatten noch nie ein so exclusives und geniales Ferienhaus in Sardinien
Alle waren rundum zufrieden, erholt,entspannt und planen schon die Rückkehr zur Villa im nächsten Jahr.
Wir hatten auch den Lancia und einen Golf Cabrio gebucht,und weil Fritz noch einen Golf Cabrio momentan frei hatte gabs dieses einfach gratis zur Nutzung dazu,danke nochmal !!
Auch wir hatten leider 2 Tage extreme Gewitter mit viel Regen und Sturm was hier so nah am Meer schon sehr spektakulär ist.Aber bei Sicht durch die Panoramascheibe auf das tosende Meer und den brennenden Kamin hat dies auch sein positives.Übernacht war der Spuk vorbei, es gab wieder Sonne satt und Badewetter pur,was alle sofort in den Pool hüpfen ließ.
Die Ansicht des Vorbewerters kann ich nicht teilen, ärgert mich eher,da nicht obektiv und richtig.Nur Kleingeister können hier was zu meckern finden.
Wir kommen auf alle jeden Fall das nächste Jahr wieder.

Beautiful villa and unforgettable vacation for us Saarlanders
We spent a wonderful holiday in this dream house in June 2018 with 7 adults and 3 growing children :-)
The house is equipped with everything you can imagine and is furnished with great attention to detail. It is a little paradise of tranquility with a very lovingly landscaped garden and a fantastic pool. Even though the photos already have quite some expressive power, in "real life"
it is overwhelming - the house, the view, the surroundings - simply perfect.
We liked it so much in the villa that we didn't feel like doing any great activities for the first few days. We simply enjoyed the property and the sun, undisturbed in our little garden of Eden amidst a beautiful sea of flowers with a view of the sea.
All in all, a insider tip and we can only recommend the villa.
It is very quiet and you can reach the sea and the center in a few minutes. In Porto Ottiolu there are some restaurants, as well as a very good bakery and a small supermarket. However, for larger shopping trips and activities, it is better to go to nearby San Teodoro.
Evi and Fritz are really very likeable landlords! We were warmly welcomed with a little snack and white wine and immediately felt at home. A big thank you to the two of them, who were able to help us with numerous tips (lonely coves, restaurants, excursions, etc.) to make our holiday varied and unforgettable. The highlights were a boat trip from Cala Gonone in Caribbean blue water and dreamy beaches and of course a flight with Fritz (he is a flight instructor) over the island.
All in all, a dream, what more could you want? A truly perfect holiday and I think we will see each other again :-)

Absolutely beautiful!
After many years of staying in the holiday homes offered by Evi and Fritz in Sardinia, we visited Castel Smeralda in Porto Ottiolu for the first time this autumn. The house has a wonderfully beautiful garden with a pool and stunning sea views. It is very quiet, the last house in a dead-end street high up on the mountain. A footpath leads to a small bathing bay, and another trail directly behind the house leads down the mountain to the sea and then further into the village (good for getting an ice cream or having an espresso in the village).
The house is equipped with everything your heart desires, from 2 fully equipped kitchens to 4 double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. There is also a children's room with 6 beds and the pool house can be used as another bedroom. Special highlights for us were the covered outdoor kitchen, the great pool with sea views, and the outdoor showers around the house. The loving interior design with lots of driftwood and mosaics is also worth mentioning. However, we spent most of our time outside in the garden or on one of the terraces around the house or on the fantastic beaches in the area - all easily accessible by car, which we could also rent from our landlords.
Evi and Fritz are always available for any questions or tips of any kind. The transfer to and from the airport also works great.
Once again, we were warmly welcomed this time and are already looking forward to our next stay in one of Evi and Fritz's great houses (whether Casa Tavolara, Castel Smeralda, or the smaller Villetta Pontecino). And last but not least: what we particularly appreciate about the landlords is that you don't have to pay in advance, but only when you are warmly welcomed on-site with a glass of wine and a Sardinian welcome snack.

Beautiful vacation home
After our vacation is already over again for a month and it is still fresh in our memory, I am now giving a review.
Pros:
Amazing location with a fantastic view
Beautiful holiday home with many extras
Top garden area with a pool
Very nice landlords who are always ready to help
Located on the outskirts, very quiet
Ideal for families with children who can already swim.
Cons:
No air conditioning (probably due to the limitation of maximum power consumption per household in Sardinia). But it wasn't a big problem because the nights were usually below 20 degrees Celsius.
No real mosquito protection available
A car is necessary
In summary:
The vacation will always remain in our positive memory due to the extraordinary location, the great sea, the beautiful house, and the hospitable landlords.
