Gas heating in the bedroom.
When we arrived at the lighthouse, the person who was supposed to hand us the key was not reachable, nor was the landlord. We waited in our car for 1 hour, and by chance, a young man who takes care of the lighthouse garden arrived and was able to help us with the key, as his mother cleans the holiday house and also had a key. He got it for us, and we were finally able to enter the house. The holiday home gives a cozy impression, but could be cleaned more thoroughly, such as the kitchen (especially the oven:( We had booked the house for 6 days but left on the 5th day because the beds in the bedroom (under the roof) were completely worn out, as well as the slatted frame. However, the main reason was the gas heating in the bedroom. It kept turning on every 2 minutes in the evening and continued like that until early morning. Sleep was impossible, and this during the vacation! ! ! We also wondered whether it can be lawful to install a gas heater in the middle of the bedroom. This is very unusual and super dangerous! Furthermore, the lighthouse could use some fresh paint inside and out, as the photos on the internet seem to be somewhat outdated. We did not use the sauna or the sunbed. The accommodation is not suitable for a family with many children. We were three people and that was perfect. We wouldn't want to vacation there again!

free time activities: In Norddeich befindet sich eine Seehundstation und das Waloseum. Sehr empfehlenswert ist auch das Automuseum.

Weekend at the lighthouse
Overall a disappointment!!! The shower water does not drain properly. An old computer is stored on the living room floor, leftover boards and skirting boards are next to the bed in the bedroom - pure romance. Jumbled furniture, lamps, and towels!!! The sauna and solarium are not very inviting!!!

Short break at the lighthouse
The lighthouse is very beautiful, but also quite small. Three people have enough space, for additional persons it would be very tight. The bedroom at the top of the lighthouse can only be reached by a very steep and narrow staircase (Caution, risk of falling for adults and children!!!). The bedroom has a double bed and 2 single beds, which are so closely positioned in the sloping roof that the roof is directly above the head when lying in them. Those who like to wake up with the first rays of the sun in the morning are in the right place, there are no blackout options!!! Furthermore, the heating system is right next to the bed. There is no trace of romance here.
On the other hand, the rest of the rooms were very, very nice and well-furnished. We felt comfortable there.
Regarding cleanliness, it has to be said that it was not really clean (not vacuumed, hair in the bathroom and bed, cobwebs...). Therefore, a price of €40 for final cleaning is not justified.

Vicinity of the holiday home: Ohne Auto ist man hier verloren. Der Leuchtturm steht zwar in einem sehr schönen und ruhigen Wohngebiet und ALDI LIDL sind auch nicht weit entfernt, jedoch wenn man etwas erleben will, muss man schon mit dem Auto eine gute halbe Stunde fahren.
free time activities: Norddeich hat einen wunderschönen Strand und man kann gut dort bummeln.
Ocean Wave (Spassbad), Abenteuer Minigolf, Seehundaufzuchtstation, alles beieinander gelegen und nur ca. 10 Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt.
Inselausflug Norderney sehr sehr empfehlenswert.
Es werden am Strand viele Wattwanderungen angeboten.
