The Holiday home

The apartment is located on the ground floor of a detached villa in the middle of
Green. Through a large glazed door leads directly into a spacious, bright

The apartment is on the brink of Imperial on a sunny hill surrounded by gardens.
Imperia, a city on the Riviera, which is rare in the guidebooks. Perhaps just as well, because that Imperia has been spared from mass tourism.
Imperia consists of two districts, which were for centuries independent cities. One Porto Maurizio, was marked by the rural culture, trade and the nobility, the other Oneglia by the industry and the port.

The old town of Porto Maurizio, Parasio, has an almost completely preserved medieval structure, a mountain houses with labyrinthine alleys, stairways and subways. Everything wildly romantic, very authentic and not "totrestauriert" fortunately. Porto Maurizio has also a nice little port and beautiful sandy beaches.

Oneglia however passed slowly from its industrial past and becomes a trendy, chic city. Close the factories, in the port developing rapidly very good restaurants and bars. In addition to the fishing boats where you can still buy fresh fish, are increasingly luxury yachts. The beautiful Via Bonfante with its arcades is always interesting. There are very good food shops, boutiques and bars. Twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday there is a big market in Oneglia. Here you will find everything from tablecloths, flowers and handbags to prosciutto.
The hinterland of Imperia represents a contrast to the bustle of the coast. You will find untouched nature, olive groves as far as the eye can see and many small villages. In the 50 years he a great exodus began in the rear and so many places were almost deserted. This, however, they were unchanged in their structure and remained of the building mania of later years spared. Meanwhile, many tourists have discovered from the north these places and also young Italians return to the homes of their ancestors.

The village houses, streets and churches seem like a fairy tale. Many date back to the Middle Ages as Prelá Castello with the ruins of the 12th century. The churches, in every place, there are at least two, are usually provided with a baroque façade, although these are usually much older origin. Life moves a little slower here. The residents are friendly and helpful, we like stops to chat a bit, occasionally rattling an ape or a scooter over.
Nearby, towards the hinterland, lies the town of Dolcedo. The valley was called Conca d'Oro and is completely coated with the terraces of olive cultivation. Chestnut and oak forests stretch over the extensive olive groves up to the mountain pastures of the ridge, where the Monte Faudo represents the highest peak with 1149 meters. The old transport network of mule streets of the so-called Mulatiera is still partially preserved and recorded for hiking. In Dolcedo there are many good restaurants, some small shops.
