Spending the whole day on the estate of the castle is truly a vacation. Then you can enjoy all the things you didn't do, but could have done, such as visiting medieval towns, canoeing on a beautiful stretch of the Dordogne river, paragliding; rock climbing, exploring ruins and caves, horse riding, cycling, fun car trips, etc.
The space
Enjoying the overwhelming silence on the terrace or in the garden. The centuries-old beams of the house have remained visible with the addition of all the comfort and luxury of this house. This adds a lot of charm to the house. Enjoy walking over the beautiful estate of the chateau where your cottage is located among the centuries-old trees and just a stone's throw away from the luxurious swimming pool.
The house is very attractively furnished with all conveniences. Complete living kitchen, cozy sitting room, toilet, storage space. On the floor are three spacious bedrooms and a modern, also large bathroom. The first bedroom with hanging/closet space and a desk contains a double bed (180x200). The second bedroom has two large beds of 140x190 each. These can be used either as single beds or a double bed. The third bedroom also has a bed of 140x190 and a bed of 90x190. The bathroom has a spacious modern shower (digital display to see how warm the water is and how long you have been under the shower), a toilet (second toilet), and a washbasin with no-touch lighting in the mirror (no switch but waving under the mirror controls the lighting).

Two kilometers outside a small village stands our chateau. The chateau is on a largely fenced property with beautiful gardens, large old trees, and a luxurious heated swimming pool. Here we rent out two chambres d’hôtes and two holiday homes. Larger villages with all amenities are 7 km away. Hiking trails start right at the gate of the chateau. The area is located between the Dordogne and Maronne rivers, both of which have deep gorges, making the terrain even more mountainous. It is also ideal for experienced cyclists, or for motorcycle tours along the beautiful winding narrow roads. But especially for hiking or horse riding through the beautiful quiet nature with stunning views. Argentat sur Dordogne, located about 20km away, offers plenty of entertainment, larger supermarkets, and numerous activities such as jumping off waterfalls, canoeing, etc.
Old and beautiful towns, markets, and sights are also plentiful. Les tours de Merle is 7 km away, a medieval museum village in Saint Julien itself, a mountain town Salers, the 'red village' Collonges la Rouge, and many other places from the selection 'les plus beaux villages de France'.
