Escape reality, deeply relax, leave the familiar behind, find a new focus? For this, we offer, Behind the Mirrors in the cozy Eifel town of Heimbach in the heart of the Eifel National Park, the flexible suitable setting.
A real hotel all to yourselves? No bed-making, no hostel atmosphere, but enough space for all of you? We can offer you that! "Behind the Mirrors" has eleven individually decorated en-suite rooms - seven double rooms with double beds, two larger ground floor rooms with twin beds, which can optionally be used as triple rooms, one single room, and a suite that can be used as a triple room (with a double bed and a sofa bed). Each room has its own theme, mostly from the fantasy and science fiction area, from the realm of elves to wizard apprentices. When the house is occupied by a maximum of 14 people, everyone has their own bed.
Additionally, the large restaurant area is available with a cozy lounge corner and a wood stove, plus a bar; and for seminars and workshops, there is a seminar room with laminate flooring and a screen.
Our inspiring ambiance is complemented by a generous garden close to nature with a terrace, a fire pit, and a barrel that can be used equally for sitting or sleeping. The whole house is full of books, many of our guests feel like they are in a library. Additionally, we have games and puzzles, so there's no chance of boredom even on rainy days.
There are about ten parking spaces in front of the house, and motorcycles or bicycles can be stored in a garage.

Whether it's a hiking coaching seminar in the Eifel National Park, a weekend with all your friends, a joint timeout for dog lovers, or a workshop on a topic that is close to your or your company's heart. Maybe you just want to finally get together with the whole family again? Whatever you're planning, whatever moves you: With us, you're in good hands!
You will be personally received and everything will be explained; similarly, a personal final inspection is done at departure. The operators live in a separate apartment in the house but are more nomadic, they may be on-site or not.
The house is a former hotel that was completely renovated and refurbished in 2011-12, and was passionately run by the owner for over 10 years. The theme of Behind the Mirrors is fantasy literature - each bedroom is decorated according to a different theme from the realms of fantasy and science fiction, and the house contains hundreds of books. The living area is divided into three interconnected rooms - a spacious dining area with plenty of tables and chairs and a cozy sofa corner, a bar area with a large bar, and another room with a game table and a screen. From the dining area, a narrow balcony leads comfortably to the large south-facing terrace and to the two bedrooms on the ground floor with direct garden access. Whether you're looking for a relaxed vacation in nature or a comfortable starting point for your excursions around the area - the vacation home Hinter den Spiegeln is the perfect choice for your next holiday. Heimbach is a small town in the Eifel region, Germany, located right in the Eifel National Park. Hinter den Spiegeln is in the district of Hasenfeld, a residential area. Downtown Heimbach with its restaurants can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot, as can Lake Rur also in about 20 minutes. Several hiking trails lead right past the house; you can be in the forest in about 5 minutes.
Since the house is in a residential area, we ask you to be considerate of the neighbors regarding noise levels.

"Great hospitality and comfortable rooms – Our New Year's stay"
We had the pleasure of staying with Ms. Kaufmann as a family of 22 people for 2 nights over New Year's Eve. She is an incredibly nice owner, and the rooms are tastefully decorated. Each room is equipped with a lot of attention to detail. They are not only clean but also very comfortable.
From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere very much. We felt immediately welcome and very comfortable. Mrs. Kaufmann was extremely flexible with check-in and check-out, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
For book lovers, there is a great selection to browse through. The kitchen is also excellently equipped in case one wants to cook for themselves.
We can only recommend this place and thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
