Location and surroundings of object
Gorrino is only a few tens kilometers away from Alba (the capital of the Langhe and renowned for its white and black truffles), Acqui Terme (a renowned spa and healing centre), and the Ligurian Sea and its beaches.
Cortemilia, the "Hazelnut Capital" and most important town of the Alta Langa, is only 10 minutes away. The Langhe, also called "the balcony on the Alps", are a small piece of land between the Alps north-west passage and the Ligurian Sea.
In the middle of these amazing green and peaceful hills, food, wine, and tradition intertwine.
Worldwide famous for its wines, cheeses, white truffles, hazelnuts, and other local specialties, the Langhe have not only a priceless heritage for their food and wines, but also an artistic and cultural heritage thanks to the ancient castles and monuments scattered through the hills, as well as the stories of renowned poets and writers.
Approximately one hour away from the Mediterranean Sea and the baroque city of Turin, and only 10 minutes away from Cortemilia, the "Hazelnut Capital", Gorrino lies in the middle of the "Alta Langa", the heart of Piedmont’s authentic and genuine gastronomic wine region.

Beautiful holiday home
We were there in August 2023 with 2 children. We really liked it and we will come back. The sea is 60 km away from the house, but that didn't bother us because we like to admire the landscapes and mountains. The equipment in the kitchen is manageable but sufficient for 4-6 people. The driveway to the house, as it is steep uphill on rocky terrain, takes some getting used to for flatlanders, but after 2-3 times it's okay. The children were thrilled and satisfied. We will be back.
Best regards to the family.

Great vacation with a magnificent view. Would love to come back!
This stone house in the midst of the Langhe region in Piedmont is beautifully located and allowed us to relax and unwind wonderfully. The four of us were able to enjoy a wonderful time there.
Unforgettable were the many evening hours on the warm stone steps overlooking the incredibly beautiful panorama and the mountains in the background.
It was just right for us!
Only the driveway is adventurous. You should already be a skilled and experienced driver to master the poorly paved roads.
But overall, we can highly recommend this place in this house!

In tranquillity lies strength
We spent two beautiful, relaxing and above all quiet weeks with our dog at Cà d'Ernestin. It is hidden in the hills of the Alta Langhe with a really beautiful view over the green valley. If you are looking for absolute peace and quiet, except for the chirping of the crickets, this is the place for you. The house is simply but cleanly furnished and if you don't have high expectations, you will feel at home here. Unfortunately, many of the surrounding villages are deserted and there is a lot of vacancy, so that leisure activities and shopping opportunities in the immediate vicinity are somewhat more difficult. However, Cortemilia (approx. 10 minutes by car) is a pretty little town where you can get the most important things you need for everyday life. The sea in Savona is about 1-1.5 hours away (if you use the motorway), but it is very touristy and of course crowded in summer. Since we have a dog, we spent a day at Bau Bau Village, an extra beach section for dogs, but it was very expensive and the sea dirty from the adjacent harbour. However, if you have a bit of time, you will certainly be able to find a less crowded and free bathing spot on the coast. The people there are all very nice and helpful. If you are in Gorrino at the right time, you should definitely take part in the annual culinary town festival. The landlady is also very nice and gave us a friendly welcome and farewell.

Wonderful vacation with a lot of tranquility
Very nice location, away from the village, with a great view of the valley and the mountains.
Excursions in the area (Asti, Alba, Barolo, Liguria) are very possible. There are many restaurants in Cortemilia and the surrounding area. The facilities are good: 2 rooms with double beds and 2 terraces. The kitchen is somewhat sparsely equipped for self-catering (more plates and cups would be better). The landlady is friendly and helpful. We liked the summer house very much and we are going home after two weeks well-rested.

Was will man mehr?

Vicinity of the holiday home: Die Landschaft ist für Naturliebhaber genial.

A beautiful and very relaxing vacation.
We had a wonderful and very relaxing vacation in the peace of this cozy little house "in the woods". The bird concert in the morning woke us up to wonderful excursion days or just lazy days of reading and going for walks. We felt very comfortable here and would love to come back sometime!
