Description
The name of the house should be the programme of your holiday with us, because "SLAPPE-AV" translated into German means nothing other than "to relax; to unwind".
Here you will find over 120 m² of space and equipment to really relax. There are 4 bedrooms with 9 sleeping places, a large living/dining area and a large sanitary area with sauna for up to 5 people.
You can reach the lake Vråvatn within a few minutes' walk, as the nearest shore is only 150 m away and the sandy beach, where you can easily go into the water in summer, but of course also at any other time of the year, is only about 300 m away.
You can do your daily shopping in the village of Vrådal, which is only 4 km away. There you will find a supermarket (Jokers) with a post office, a sports and leisure shop, a fashion shop, a tourist information centre, a hotel with a restaurant, a café, a Thai snack bar, a hairdresser, a silversmith's shop and a petrol station.
A little further out, there is a car repair shop and various other businesses.

Location and surroundings of object
Our holiday home SLAPPE-AV is located in the middle of a small holiday home area with a total of approx. 20 holiday homes. The house has a natural plot of land of approx. 1000 m².
The beach at the lake is only 300 m away.
The skiing fun starts almost directly in front of the house, because you will find a groomed cross-country skiing track in 50 m distance and the Alpincenter in approx. 2 km distance can be reached by car in a few minutes.
The property and the access road to it are well paved and easy to reach in summer as well as in winter. The village of Vrådal lies at approx. 255 m above sea level in the heart of Telemark at the junction of the two large inland lakes Nisser (approx. 36 km long) and Vråvatn (approx. 18 km long).
The place is both a summer and winter holiday area, as it offers something for every season.
In summer, you can hike into the mountains on more than 80 km of marked trails. The highest point, Roholtsfjell (1018 m), can be reached via well-marked trails, as can all the other elevations in the vicinity.
For Nordic walking enthusiasts, there are 9 signposted routes of varying difficulty, ranging from 1.2 to 7.8 km in length. Beginners' courses and guided training tours are also offered.
There are also beautiful cycling routes, which on the one hand lead around the lakes on an almost level course and on the other hand also have more difficult gradients - up to downhill riding in the ski centre.
At Lake Nisser you will find a small bathing area with beach, restaurant, playground, boat rental, climbing tower and much more sea.
In addition, moose safaris, beaver safaris, pony rides, canoeing, fishing and many other activities can be booked and visited in Vrådal.
From Vrådal you can quickly reach many museums and sights in southern Norway. Oslo is only 200 km away. Nearby there is the Eidsborg Stave Church with museum, an open-air museum in Kviteseid, Badeland Bø Sommarland, a copper mine, a silver mine, the Telemark Canal, etc., etc.
In winter you can explore the beautiful nature on extensive cross-country skiing tours. There are about 40 km of groomed trails, both in the valley and in the mountains.
At Vrådal Panorama Skisenter you will find 5 lifts with 15 different slopes, 10 of which have artificial snow, so the ski season lasts from Christmas to Easter.
You can also book a wintry carriage sleigh ride at Straand Hestesenter, or rent snowshoes and go on your own or on a guided snowshoe tour.

The house has a 32 inch (approx. 81 cm) flat screen TV with German and Norwegian programmes. The antenna is tuned to the Astra and Sirius satellites.
Internet access is available free of charge via Wi-Fi.
From the living/dining room there are two exits to the large terrace, so the distances are always short. The terrace has a table, chairs, loungers and a barbecue, so you can enjoy the long, bright summer nights there in comfort.
There is a bathroom with shower, washbasin, toilet and direct access to the sauna, as well as an extra guest toilet with washbasin.
We offer two bedrooms on the ground floor and two in the attic. Two bedrooms are equipped with double beds, one with two single beds and one with a family bed.

All of us enjoy using the house at different times of the year, but the rest of the time we are very happy to make our house available for Norway lovers. We built and furnished the house ourselves with much love between 2008 and 2010.
