Rest
We were looking for a holiday home by a lake where we could also take our Labrador dog and came across this offer.
The location and the price seemed reasonable and so we booked for summer 2015.
Now that we are back in Vienna, here are our impressions:
The contact for the booking, Mr. Kleemann, is very well organised, already the website for the holiday home leaves no questions unanswered. All further questions are answered quickly and comprehensively.
The owners, Carrie and Christian, are very nice, helpful and relaxed people, simply pleasant.
- You can go shopping in Forserum, about 12km away, the supermarket COOP there is open daily from 7am - 10pm.
- the next big town is Jönköping, approx. 25km away, where you can find all services from garages to hospitals. So you are not far away, just in case.
- The size of 65m² is sufficient for a family with children.
- It is a simple, older summer house. The necessary things and facilities are available, but no luxury awaits you. If you are looking for that, you will not be happy here. We were completely satisfied.
- The furnishings are functional and the kitchen equipment is complete, you don't need to bring any utensils. Coffee filters, cling film, etc. are also provided.
- The location is, in our opinion, simply brilliant. The house is located in a small holiday home settlement on a lakeside property. The adjacent houses were not occupied during 2 out of 3 weeks and the rest of the houses were also not occupied during this time.
- Quietness is the predominant impression. Apart from the rustling of leaves on the trees and the occasional roar of a moose from the other side of the lake, nothing can be heard. Since we live in Vienna, we enjoyed this very, very much.
- If, like us, you have a dog that likes to go swimming, this house is perfect. The lake is practically on the doorstep.
- If you bring a dog and also go into the forest with it, make sure you take a tick repellent with you (I recommend the collar "Seresto" from Bayer). Since we had forgotten to bring a new Seresto from Vienna, our dog had 3-5 ticks in her fur after every walk in the forest. We then bought another collar in a pet shop, but it was as good as ineffective.
- If you don't necessarily need your own bedding and towels, they hire this on site. We had a suitcase full of them with us and will save this for next year, plus the price for this service is more than fair.
- Of course, you should also bring waterproof, warm clothing and footwear, but still summer clothing. During our stay, the temperatures were between 9° at night and 27° during the day.
We enjoyed our holiday very much and have booked again for 2016. Unfortunately not the black holiday home (unfortunately already fully booked in summer), but another one from Carrie and Christian at this lake.
