Description
" Very quiet location, very good air!!! The best rest for man and dog!" "Small enough to be cosy. Big enough to get out of the way sometimes." "The sauna is great for cold days." "Everything there that you REALLY need for a family holiday." "Green, and again lots of green, ideal for long walks." That's how our guests describe the holiday home.
But we don't just want to rent out a house, we also want to share a philosophy of life. The return to the simple and essential is close to our hearts in times of mass consumption and often unnecessary and superficial luxury. That's why you won't find stylish, high-quality furniture and high-tech in our house. It is simple, cosy and functionally furnished, with lots of wood to match the surroundings. Functioning things don't end up in the rubbish just because they show a few signs of use or are no longer in keeping with contemporary taste. We only invest when it is necessary and always step by step. It is not our style to "upgrade" the house with expensive furnishings in order to then be able to significantly increase the rent. We want to give you the space to open your senses to the unique nature of the Harz and its cultural treasures. And we want to give you the time to talk to each other in a cosy atmosphere and to play together with your children and grandchildren. We don't have Wi-Fi, but we do have books, family games and lots of brochures about excursion destinations in the region. You can sleep with the windows open and don't need an alarm system to feel safe.
Pet-friendliness is not just on paper with us. Whether dog, cat or guinea pig, no matter how big and what breed, the four-legged family members are also welcome here. In the meantime, up to 80% of our guests come to us in animal company.
Nevertheless, it is not the ideal house for everyone. Those who trim their sports lawn to 5 mm twice a week, who cut their shrubs to the edge and who are deprived of sleep by a cobweb at night are not suited to our holiday home. Especially during the holiday season, when our guests come and go, the time window for cleaning is often very small. Even though we are very thorough, one or two animal hairs may remain behind. We would therefore not recommend our house to allergy sufferers.
The hillside location means that several stairs have to be climbed to reach the house entrance. Our guests should therefore stand securely on their two feet.
If you now say: "That's it!", then simply contact us, preferably by e-mail. We will be happy to send you an offer. And we will also contact you if the house is already occupied on your desired date. Please understand that we are only available by phone on a limited basis. We are busy at work. If you book with us, you will also receive a mobile phone number from us.

Location and surroundings of object
Our FH is located in a small valley on the outskirts of the village - somewhat hidden for those not familiar with the area. You can enjoy the absolute tranquillity there; only the few residents stay here. Walking our four-legged friends from the FH is no problem. Children can play here without any worries. Directly opposite the FH is the Heimberg rock (former quarry) with a vantage point and a very beautiful view of our valley and Güntersberge. We will be waiting for you at the holiday home on the day of your arrival. You will receive the key and a short briefing and your holiday can begin.
The state-recognised resort of Güntersberge, also known as the smallest town in Saxony-Anhalt, is centrally located in the Eastern Harz Mountains directly on the Selke River. In the town you will find the Mouse Trap and Curiosity Museum, which has become particularly famous in the media in the past. On the outskirts of the village, the idyllic mountain lake - the only reservoir on the Selke - invites you to relax. Here you can enjoy a meal in the "Schmunzelstube", refresh yourself in the mountain lake bath, marvel at the Selketal railway as it passes by, go fishing and hire rowing boats. At the Selketalbahn station, the station restaurant caters for your physical well-being. Delicious ice cream is available at the ice cream parlour by the mountain lake. The beautiful surroundings typical of the Harz Mountains are particularly suitable for nature lovers and hikers. You can start directly into nature on numerous marked hiking and cycling trails. In winter there are groomed ski trails. A variety of Harz sights such as the Bode Valley, Thale with the Hexentanzplatz (witches' dancing place), the western town of Pullman City, the Rappbode reservoir, Wernigerode, the historic old town of Quedlinburg, the Rübeländer stalactite caves and, of course, the Brocken can be reached in less than an hour by car.
