This former dovecote is perfect for a romantic holiday with the love of your life. It has been fitted with all modern conveniences and carefully renovated in winter 2021 (roof insulation and insect screens at the bedroom windows on the top floor), while of course retaining all the authentic features.
Characteristic sights such as castles, caves and medieval towns, are easily accessible from here. Beautiful towns like Sarlat (25 km), Domme (21 km) and La Roque Gageac (18 km) are worth a visit, as are the castles of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle (13 km), Commarque (25 km) and Beynac-et-Cazenac (14 km). You can hit a ball at the golf course at the bottom of the hill (1 km) and enjoy a refreshing swim in the Dordogne. Beautiful beaches can be found in Coux and Bigarouqe (7.1 km) and in Siorac en Périgord (5 km). You can also rent a canoe here. The Lascaux IV museum in Montignac (52.6 km) is also well worth a visit.
The bedroom is on the top floor, the living room on the first floor and the kitchen on the ground floor. The dovecote is located in the midst of the beautiful natural landscape of the Dordogne, on land where birds, deer and sometimes even wild boars can be seen. On the estate there is a gym and a sauna. The gym is accessible at all times and the sauna from Tuesday to Saturday from 9h to 19h and needs to be pre-booked with the manager.

Pleasant stay in a wooded area. Reception was superb !! (the owner even brought a cake that she had baked herself) House is rather small (2 pers.), but contains everything needed !!

To begin with, the Dordogne is a nice area to spend your holiday. But it's not all about the environment. Let me start by saying that when we book an accommodation in the middle of a forest, we understand that all kinds of insects fly there too. The reception at our accommodation was provided by a somewhat timid girl who did not speak English. She was willing. She wanted to make the beds, but we told her we would do it ourselves. She said goodbye by giving a bottle of wine. A bit with a feel like a standard act. Then a first exploration of the house. Nice at first sight. A bit inconvenient that the toilet is upstairs, but that is the choice that has been made. We are looking for television, not that it is watched a lot, but still. Unfortunately there appears to be none. It is also not mentioned on the website, but in this case the advice is to do so. Especially since you expect this to be standard. The internet is reasonable with the WIFI. To stream with Ziggo, for example, the connection is a bit slow. The top floor, the master bedroom, which looks nice. We slept there for half a night. At night we were awakened by fluttering and other noise. The bats flew around above our heads, and there appeared to be a bee's nest. We moved downstairs and spent the rest of the holiday on the sofa bed. After an app to a dutch speaking gentleman, the bee's nest was adequately removed the next day. We had to live with the bats, because they were protected. No problem, but after a conversation with another employee this appears to be known. If the home owner decides not to do anything about it, then that is a choice. But please mention in the specifications and characteristics of the house that the bedroom is a paradise for all kinds of animals and not only for the guests. After two weeks we have the top floor again and visited

We were received by a young French woman who did the maintenance in the house and gave a short tour, this was fine. The house is quiet, secluded and beautifully situated in the green, with a spacious private garden around the holiday home. You don't really have a panoramic view because you still look at trees from the house. The location is interesting if you want to visit the cultural-historical attractions in the region.

The location was rather difficult to find; in the end it worked through the navigation of the Topic Travel website. We were way too early but luckily we were already in the house (the key was in a cupboard, the manager gave us the code by phone). A great place in fantastic surroundings, we enjoyed it until the last day. With the exception of the occasional passing cars, it was still completely silent!

Easy contact with the caretaker. More remote than expected. House was like in the pictures.

The beautiful, peaceful and green surroundings made us happy. You stay in a spacious private forest! Deer and wild boar present! And a wealth of orchids on the domain. Fantastic! The house was sufficiently tidy and nicely decorated. Everything that was needed (except a bread knife) is available for self-cooking. Good bed. Super shower. Less comfortable is the large "seat" in the sitting room, which is actually a bed. A second small seat would be desirable. Fortunately there were evenings with beautiful weather so that we could stay outside. Nice terrace.

Nice reception by the host. We were welcomed with a pleasant surprise, bottle of wine and coffee. We had a super stay, quiet, surrounded by beautiful trees. The nature sounds are wonderful to hear. The discomforts of large wasps and other crawling animals had become our traveling companions. Please fly window provided! In the area you can visit beautiful villages and make walks. For us a must for people who really love nature and yet not too far for groceries.

Super holiday home! Reception by Tim was very pleasant, personal and accessible. A nice bottle of rosé was already cold. Nice layout over three floors, equipped with modern facilities such as a large washing machine, dishwasher and rain shower. Direct environment is very quiet and green, wonderful to relax. Within 20 minutes drive you will find dozens of castles that you can visit, including the most famous of the Dordogne. Large terrace next to the turret, with barbecue, lounge set and garden set. Around the corner a shower to cool off. An air conditioning for the hot nights and a small bath / jacuzzi outside would make it complete. Really recommended!
