Description
On the south west of the Netherlands (Zeeland Province), about 150m behind the dunes on the North Sea coast and surrounded by nature reserves, I rent my house (before last house in a cul de sac with free Dünenblick).
The house has an open living area-equipped kitchenette with generous. Kitchen and dining area, living room. With FP, Wireless Internet, satellite TV (30 dt. Channels), stereo system and DVD player. Through a large sliding door leads to the terrace and the garden with open views to the rear of the vegetated dune. There are 3 bedrooms (2x double bed and 1 bedroom with bunk beds) for max. 6 persons. The parking lot is located in front of the house.
The gently sloping, fine sandy beach with very well-developed bike paths extends to both sides for kilometers (undeveloped coast - only dunes + sandy beach, "Blue Flag") and is within walking distance with a few steps. There is no Wadden Sea, but the difference between high and low tide is only just about 150m. Directly behind the dunes on the beach there are several cozy beach bars, beach huts and a dune playground.
From May till early October a beach cottage belongs to the house. There is also on the beach various play and climbing equipment, such. As a wide slide down the dune, wooden pirate ship, climbing tower and hammocks. There are guided fossil walks (fossil shark teeth, shells and bones of prehistoric animals are to be found), wind and kite surfers and kite festivals.
The sophisticated, Belgian seaside resort Knokke is achieved through the dunes by bike (about 12km).
In the village: Game Farm, paragliding, climbing.
Historic towns nearby: Bruges 30km, Gent 40km, Antwerp 70km.
Like most beaches of Zeeland gets the municipality annual environmental award "Blue Flag" for a nice and clean beach and water.
Very well-designed bike paths with many opportunities to stop by lead along the dunes and the entire coast. From Breskens can be various. Boat trips, z. B. to the seal banks, making the coastal shrimp fishermen and the trawler or even participate in the sport fishing.
