History of Budel-Dorplein.
Le Projet de Dorplein
Budel-Dorplein, was founded in 1892 by the Zinkfabriek, the Dor family. This special housing estate, built in the Walloon style, has developed into a village of great cultural and historical value.
The village was founded on the drawing board under the name "Le Projet de Dorplein" by one of the founders of the factory and has grown with the fortune of 'de Zink'. Many of the authentic features have been preserved.
The village of Budel-Dorplein has a great cultural and historical value and a beautiful nature, which is unique in the Netherlands with dozens of national monuments.
Residential houses in Walloon style
The original houses, built in the architecture that was common in Wallonia at the time, are a curious phenomenon in an area where this architectural style is not normally found. It consists of large houses and some villas built in a similar style for the senior executives. Our house in the Rector van Nestestraat was built for managers, among others
For the nature freaks: from the cottage it is four steps and the forest begins. 100 meters further on there is a nature reserve of about 25 hectares. In this area 6 hectares are divided, which is only for the dogs. There is a lake and sandy beach where the dogs can play, run and swim to their hearts' content. The whole area is fenced in, so that the dogs can let off steam without a leash.

The best holiday flat
This was by far the best holiday flat we could find. With Tina and Heinz, you have two wonderful hosts who take great care of you. The location is top, very quiet and very close to Belgium. Our 2 children liked it very much. Among other things, because of the many dogs. All in all, I can only recommend the accommodation. We will definitely come back again!

Small holiday as a family
Super nice days with very nice hosts. We would always recommend this accommodation again. Tina and Heinz are very nice hosts. The accommodation offers everything to spend nice days. The surrounding area also offers nice excursion destinations. Our little man enjoyed the visits of the loving dogs to the fullest.
All in all, I can say that a second visit to Tina and Heinz is not out of the question for us

Everyone who doesn't go there is missing out on something really great! Whether with or without a dog. The location is perfect, whether for walks or excursions. Perfect for holidays with dog
We were very satisfied with everything. The location is quiet and perfect for walks with the dog. We especially liked the fenced dog beach with wooded area (about 5 min walk). Other activities (swimming, fishing, lake with beach, etc.) are also nearby. The terrace of the flat is shared with the hosts, but you always have your privacy. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We had nice evenings with them with good conversations. We are especially grateful to Tina and Heinz for their many tips and advice on dog training. Another highlight for us was that we were able to get to know so many different dogs. For our Rehpinscher Kira, the holiday was a dog paradise where she was also able to learn a lot. We also had a very nice, relaxing week.

Prima locatie
House of the sun is een prima plek om vakantie te vieren. Een soort Duitse envlave nabij het 'drielandenpunt' Brabant-Limburg-Belgie. Heerlijk rustig en je loopt zo het bos in of langs de bijzondere architectuur in Dorplein.
De ontvangst door Heinz en Tina was hartelijk en als het nodig is staan ze voor je klaar.

Perfect weekend with your dog: A weekend getaway with your furry friend.
This weekend in the House of Sun was just perfect to have a few days of vacation with my dog. The holiday home is perfectly equipped and the location is ideal, right next to the forest and a huge fenced area where you can walk with your dog off-leash. The cheerful colors in the holiday home and outside even give you a summer feeling in January.
