From the garden of your comfortable holiday home, the majestically towering Mount Etna is a real eye-catcher. The spacious holiday home for up to six people is embedded in the picturesque natural landscape of Sicily and promises you not only impressive views, but above all carefree holidays. During the day, you can relax on a lounger in the shade of the palm trees or refresh yourself in the private outdoor pool. Of course, the area also invites you to great excursions and leisure activities. After a long breakfast, you can, for example, set off on a short hike or plan a day trip to Mount Etna. Because the best way to see the fascinating lava landscape is up close. You can end the evenings in a relaxed manner in the garden: grill something delicious and enjoy a glass of wine.
The walls of the old town of Castiglione di Sicilia are clearly visible. Your holiday home is just a few kilometers outside the town, which lies on a hill. In the center you will find not only historical sights but also everything you need for your daily needs as well as a few restaurants. If you want to set off on foot on the approximately two-kilometer-long path, you will cross the Alcantara River, which practically runs behind your garden.

Activities nearby: One of the highlights of any holiday in Sicily is a visit to the Etna Nature Park. There are now good hiking trails, some of which even lead close to the main craters. From the Refugio Etna Nord, you can also take an off-road bus to the observatory. Our tip: take the slightly longer route to Refugio Etna Sud and take the cable car over the fascinating lava landscape. In addition, the Alcantara River is a picturesque setting that invites you to take part in many activities. These include rafting tours and canyoning, hiking and mountain bike excursions. Not far from your holiday home, several waterfalls are also within easy reach for walkers. Here you can take spectacular photos as holiday memories. The most famous motifs await you at the "Gole dell'Alcantara" (around seven kilometres). The gorges are up to 20 metres deep and four to five metres wide. The river park to the south-east of Francavilla can be reached via a car park. You can either make your way into the gorge via a footpath or even by lift. Don't forget your swimming gear, as you can also swim in some of the bays

The apartment is very nice and is basically well equipped, the landlords are very friendly and helpful, the condition of the house is unfortunately, although it is still quite new

The accommodation was reasonable considering the price we paid. I do have a number of comments that the owner of the house (actually "houses", because there are two on the property) will hopefully do something with it. - Our 6-person house had a living room area with only three seats were also very bad / broken and uncomfortable. - "Sitting in the living room in the morning was not an option because of the rising sun that radiated right into the living room. With curtains you can easily solve this problem. - The garden is very large and beautiful, but there was not a single place outside the persimmon tree where you could sit or lie in the shade.- Sitting outside in the evening was not possible due to the absence of light and the high humidity. a place where you can sit "under" and light would be very welcome. - The table tennis table that was outside was so damaged by the weather (particle board!) That it was not possible to play on it. Buy a new one or remove the broken one. - The pool maintenance should be given more attention, because the pool was green on arrival. This happened several times in the two weeks we were there.

The cottage in Castiglione Di Sicily was really great!. What a beautiful place to enjoy the view and tranquility. The house exceeded our expectations, also because it was not clear through Belvilla whether it was 2 houses or one. So there are 2 houses on the plot, but they are both private with their own swimming pool. A path in between separates the houses. We were in the larger house (there is a difference) and it has 2 very nice bedrooms with private bathroom including a TV in both rooms. The kitchen (also with TV) was also well equipped and from the sitting room you have a beautiful view of Mount Etna and the garden. Nice that there was also a washing machine. Adina the host was also very nice and had prepared a bottle of wine, a fruit bowl and a crate of oranges for us so that we could make fresh orange juice. She was very helpful! We definitely recommend this beautiful special place to everyone. It is a pearl in the valley where you can relax completely.

Three weeks of dream vacation at the foot of Mount Etna - on the northern side... What started as a "shot in the blue" turned out to be a hit. We have never booked at the resort for the following year - but this time we made a decision early on for 2020 as well, With good reason! The warm welcome from the family with a prepared plate of antipasti and red wine made us “immerse” in an almost family-like yet professional atmosphere can be reached on foot in five minutes, other worthwhile destinations are, among other things, accessible with the available bicycles or by car (Castiglione 3km uphill - Taormina 30km - Bronte 35km - Syracuse 130km etc.), The large property with lovingly landscaped garden (2,000 sqm) has only one neighbor (neighboring property) in a wide corridor

We always book everything through TUI guarantee that everything is good and works - thanks for that, comment on the property: great service + super nice landlord on site, but: wild dogs! there must be a complete fence + gate to the object/garden, not recommended for small children! The two dogs came every day and once barked at our little Maltese through the window
