St. Gallenkirch and the surrounding area have more to offer than just your affordable holiday apartment, the holiday home or the nearby ski areas. Some sights should be on your radar when planning a holiday in Montafon. One highlight is the Kuratie-Church Gortipohl to Hl. St. Nikolaus. The first chapel was consecrated as a branch church of St. Gallenkirch around 1503. However, an avalanche destroyed it in 1694. Subsequently, the current Expositurkirche was handed over by Bishop Ulrich for its purpose. The organ dates back to the 17th century and is probably one of the oldest in Montafon. Not far away, also in St. Gallenkirch-Gortipohl, you will find the parish church of Hl. Gallus. The chapel has existed since 1307. In 1474 it was rebuilt. The church is one of the most beautiful rococo churches in Vorarlberg. The pulpit, the organ case and the three rococo altars are particularly impressive. Another tip: Take a trip to the historical mine museum Bartholomäberg and look forward to an exciting journey back in time to the time of the miners. About 115 meters of the St. Anna Tunnel are accessible. There you can take a 30-minute guided tour of the mine. Attention: The temperature in the mine is only 8 degrees Celsius.
