The historical town of Novigrad is situated in the north of Istria directly by the sea, partly surrounded by a town wall. In the old town there are numerous restaurants, bars, cafés, galleries and shops. The former small fishing village has developed into a popular holiday resort, with miles of beaches lining the coast.
