The Holiday flat

Palazzo Bedone" is one of the characteristic 19th century houses that give Méina its charm. Along with Villa Farragina, Villa Bonomi and Villa Eden (to name but a few), this building dominates the townscape and is part of the eventful history of the area. According to records, the house was built on two floors at the end of 1700 and then completed in its present form at the end of 1800. The numerous ceiling frescos, which were completely restored a few years ago, also date from this period. The name of the house has its origin in the dignitary family Bedone from Varese, who used the house as a holiday domicile. Another part of the family founded the paper mill "La Folla" in 1782 at the Lagozuflüsse Tiasca, where wool paper for screens and tar board was produced on a large scale until 1967.
The elegant 4½ room apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the 6-party house "Palazzo Bedone" and can be reached both via the staircase and conveniently by elevator. Up here you will receive a generous 130 m² of living space and an upscale ambience. Already in the staircase the view is directed to beautiful frescos, which immerse the observer in the feeling of life of past epochs. In the tastefully furnished apartment there are further ceiling paintings in different rooms. From the living room, from the dining room, from one of the two bedrooms and from the balcony you enjoy a fantastic view of the lake and the opposite shore. The entrance to the approx. 3,000 m² closed property with direct access to the lake is on the opposite side of the street, and so nothing stands in the way of a short refreshing swim in the lake at all times of the day. Here everyone finds a retreat to relax. Due to the sunny and central location, you have short distances and hardly have to move your car at all.
The town centre of Méina is within walking distance by ferry, public tennis court, sailing facilities, shops, restaurants and bars. About 1 km away is the port of Solcio, where you can rent a mooring on request. The golfers among you are spoilt for choice, and the golf club "Des Îles Borromées" is an absolute "must" for its unbelievably beautiful views on the course alone.
You can park your car in the garage, approx. 100 m away, and you can drive up to the house for loading and unloading. Pets are not allowed. Apartment division:

Location and surroundings of object

Mèina (about 2,500 inhabitants) is located in the south of Lake Maggiore in the province of Novara and was inhabited as early as the Bronze Age. Today the town is known not only for its splendid 18th and 19th century villas, whose builders were influenced by classicism and later by Art Nouveau, but also for the seven-storey, 30 m high Romanesque tower from the 11th century of the church of Santa Maria Assunta in the district of Ghevio.
The best view of the splendid villas with their beautiful extensive parks is from the ship. The beautiful town of Arona (approx. 16,000 inhabitants) with its magnificent lakeside promenade and numerous shops, bars and restaurants is just 10 km away.
The internationally renowned health resort of Stresa with its impressive lakeside promenade is only a 15-minute drive away. The Lombard metropolis of Milan can be reached in less than an hour by car or train, as Mèina is not only connected to the ferry network, but also has its own railway station. Sights such as Villa Cavallini in Solcio (part of Lesa), Villa Cairoli in Belgirate, which belonged to a close friend of Garibaldi, or the churches of the SS. Graziano e Felino and Navità di Maria Vergine are an absolute must during a stay in Mèina
