Medulin Medulin used to be a fishing village, but today it is a modern tourist centre offering a dynamic and rich holiday. Everything is geared towards tourism. The town is open all year round and has a bank, cash dispensers, post office, doctors' offices, pharmacy, vegetable market, car wash, a number of shops, souvenir and jewellery shops, hairdressing salons and galleries. The entertainment possibilities are varied, from discotheques open until the early hours of the morning to dance terraces.
The unique one kilometre long sandy beach of Medulin, Bijeca, attracts families with small children. Nature lovers can choose the campsite, where they can protect centennial pines from the intense sun. Friends of nudism also get their money's worth in Medulin if they want free contact with nature. If you are looking for a more comfortable accommodation, then family hotels or hotels directly by the sea are offered, which are constantly renewed. Sportsmen and sportswomen, especially footballers and track and field athletes, train predominantly in winter on the green areas of Medulin.
The climate is ideal for preparation during the winter months. The average daytime temperature in January is degrees, which is advantageous for sports and recreation. The month of April with an average of 11 degrees and the month of May with an average of 16 degrees are the ideal weather for cycling tours or riding through these predominantly flat landscapes. Here, in a place with a long fishing tradition, you will discover the delights of local cuisine - crab salad, black risotto or brodetto. If you prefer meat, you can get Istrian prosciutto here, if you love pasta, you can try Fuži with veal stew or perhaps aromatic specialities with the famous truffles.
If you would like to experience an adventure, then go to one of the small islands of the Medulin archipelago - Ceja, Levan or Bodulaš. Go fishing with local fishermen or dive into the tranquil underwater world. Maybe you prefer to look at everything from the air? Then there are panoramic flights for you with a sports plane. Don't miss the former windmills by the sea or the archaeological site Vižule with remains of Roman villas, or walk to the ducks in the Medulin pond.
