The Holiday flat

The former mill, built around 1720, lies in a green oasis at the confluence of two prealpine torrents that once fed the mill wheel and thus kept the mill and its associated life going for centuries. The cereals grown in the area, such as wheat, rye and barley, were ground here until the beginning of the Industrial Age brought drastic changes, as everywhere else, and the mill was converted into a sawmill. The millstone was dismantled and machines such as a tree saw, band saw, drill etc. were installed, which made profitable woodworking possible in the first place. All these devices were connected to the mill wheel by leather straps, were thus kept going and functioned until the 1970s. Even today, there is a room in the former mill in which you can look at the equipment and gearboxes as witnesses of an age that brought unbelievable changes worldwide.
In the middle of the quiet and idyllically situated, approx. 10,000 m² large, partly wooded property lies the approx. 1,000 m² large main building, which was restored over the years by the architect living there with much love, competence and above all heart blood. He attached great importance to preserving the original structures and, with the help of regional materials, succeeded in creating an architectural bridge between the past and the present without affecting the original character of the mill
In the former mill there are eight 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, furnished in antique style, each with a well-equipped kitchenette, a washing machine and satellite TV. All apartments have a free WLAN internet access and a communal outdoor area consisting of a 10,000 m² property with table, benches and barbecue as well as a pool (approx. 15 m x 6 m), which is open due to weather conditions from approx. the end of May to approx. the beginning of October. Parking spaces are available within the enclosed property. Apartment division:

You reach the small village Rancio in approx. 5 minutes on foot and larger shopping possibilities, pharmacy, restaurant etc. you are also only approx. 5 minutes by car away. The new cycle path, about 10 km long, offers you the possibility to reach Luino and the lake comfortably by bike. The golf friends among you have several courses at their disposal in the immediate vicinity.
