Malcesine history and tradition framed between lake and mountains
The medieval old town of Malcesine lies on the shores of Lake Garda in Verona and is only a few kilometres from Riva del Garda, 60 from Verona and 50 from Trento.
The small town is gathered around the towering Scaliger Castle, from the top of which you can enjoy an enchanting view of the whole area. The buildings of the lower and upper castle today house numerous exhibitions and a hall is dedicated to the German poet Goethe.
Palazzo dei Capitani, built in Venetian style with frescoes and picturesque garden overlooking the lake, is also worth a visit.
Malcesine also offers the possibility of walking on the surrounding hills through the well-kept olive groves and Mediterranean vegetation. The modern cable car takes you to the summit of Monte Baldo, where hikers, cyclists and paragliders can enjoy the fascinating view of Lake Garda and the Alps.
The activities that can be carried out in the area are countless: for example, you can lie in the sun on the beautiful beaches, visit the surrounding villages by boat or practise many sports, for which it is possible to attend basic courses and rent the necessary equipment. The most popular sports are sailing, windsurfing, cycling, mountain biking, free climbing and paragliding.
The temperate climate of Malcesine and Lake Garda favours the cultivation of olives and the production of delicious virgin olive oil and quality wine. Oil mills and wine cellars are happy to wait for their guests at any time to offer tastings and souvenirs.

Great accommodation
We were four (2 adults + 2 children) in August and were very surprised how great the holiday apartment looks, very well-maintained, spacious with a wonderful terrace and amazing view of Lake Garda. The equipment was sufficient, nothing was missing. I was allowed to use the washing machine that was in the facility, as we had already been traveling a few days before. Mrs. Milani is very helpful and could always be reached. Attached is a corner where children can play; we were happy to be able to play table tennis there. From there, you can reach on foot: about 10 minutes to the lake, 10 minutes to the Monte Baldo cable car, and about 15 minutes to the center of Malcesine. Since there is no air conditioning, you might want to bring a fan. The car can be parked well in a closed area (a basement garage is also available), and everything is easily accessible on foot.
