The Holiday flat

Welcome to the "Villa di Elena"! If you are looking for an extraordinary domicile for the most beautiful weeks of the year, then you have come to the right place. The well-kept villa has five spacious 2- and 3-room apartments with outdoor areas of different sizes, all of which offer ideal conditions for an all-round beautiful holiday. You can simply do nothing here and just look at the lake, swim directly from the property, walk for miles along the lake, go hiking, boating or explore the area by bike. Or as already said, just do nothing and let your soul dangle. Each of the partly modern and partly antique furnished apartments has a dishwasher, free WLAN internet access and a safe. A separate laundry room with coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer is available for communal use. Depending on the category, there are private outdoor areas of different sizes, and each apartment also has a small area in the garden for itself. So there are plenty of opportunities to play, read and lounge. Also the barbecue masters get their money's worth, because every apartment has a grill.
Large supermarkets and small grocery stores as well as restaurants, bars and the passenger boat stop can be reached within 15 minutes on foot, so you can also leave your car at home. If you would like to bring your own boat, a buoy directly on the property is available on request. It is now up to you whether or not you choose this great property as your holiday destination! You park your car on the parking lots belonging to the house within the closed property. For each additional vehicle an additional parking space is available for a fee. Pets are not allowed. Location and surroundings of object

Pallanza (approx. 10,000 inhabitants) is of Romanesque origin and was first mentioned in documents in the 11th century. Like the neighbouring communities of Intra and Suna, Pallanza was repeatedly subjected to different ruling families over many centuries due to its strategically important location; since 1939 these three towns have formed the provincial capital Verbania (approx. 18,000 inhabitants).
At the beginning of the 19th century, a lively tourism developed, which experienced a great boom with the construction of the railway and the Simplon Pass. Many famous people came here to enjoy the beautiful location in the Borromean Gulf, the mild climate and the Mediterranean vegetation. Directly opposite Pallanza on the small private island of San Giovanni - which is still privately owned by the Borromeo family - the world-famous conductor Arturo Toscanini lived for many years. He withdrew there to draw strength and peace in the unique ambience and to be inspired for new challenges.
A stroll through the charming old town with its medieval alleys, churches, chapels, villas, gardens, arcades, restaurants, bars and the many small shops as well as the wonderful lakeside promenade will give you plenty to discover. The beautiful Art Nouveau villas still bear witness today to a long past rich and extraordinary epoch. One of these villas has become world famous for its park: Villa Taranto on the Punta della Castagnola. Here you will find more than 20,000 different plant species from all over the world on a park area of approx. 20 hectares. Not only the botanical diversity is impressive in every season, but also the beautiful location between the lake and the mountains.
One of the most famous sons of the city, Giovanni Maria Farina, became world famous in Cologne in 1714. The world owes the famous "Kölnisch Wasser" to his intuition and his fine nose, which he himself described with the following words: "My fragrance is like an Italian spring morning after the rain: oranges, grapefruit, bergamot, lemons, cedar, lime and the flowers and herbs of my homeland". Napoleon himself absolutely wanted to acquire the recipe for himself, and only through tricky deceptive manoeuvres did it not fall into his hands. After the French Revolution at the end of the 18th century, many competitors tried to copy the fragrance and the name, and since there was still no trademark protection, "Eau de Cologne" became synonymous with a whole fragrance class.
