In the living room there is TV, radio with USB input and WLAN.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, a bathroom with spacious shower cabin and WC 2. One room is equipped with shutters. There's also a cot. There's a washer-dryer in the storage room.
Seeland largest forest is found on the coast of Schouwen Duiveland. It is part of the natural monument of the "Kop van Schouwen" and is one of the most beautiful areas of the Forestry Commission. You will find hilly dune landscape with sand dunes, dune valleys and meadows. But bird-rich forest riders with many species of trees and plants. Shetland pony's still free.
The cottage is located in a small park. Within a few minutes you can walk or cycle in the beautiful forest or on the beach. In addition, there are beautiful restaurants and cafes nearby.

Location and surroundings of object
Did you know that Burgh and Haamstede are actually two separate villages? Although the villages have almost merged in the meantime, one can still see the two original village centres.
Burgh-Haamstede in Zeeland belongs to the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland and lies on the west side of the island. The area is also known as "Kop van Schouwen", of which Burgh-Haamstede is the central part.
The North Sea coast around the island is characterized by extensive and wide sandy beaches, which are one of the biggest attractions for the many tourists who visit the island every year. The beaches are surrounded by a very varied dune landscape with bare valleys, sand dunes and dune meadows with many colorful and fragrant dune plants. Several hiking trails in the "Zeepeduinen" lead you through this beautiful landscape, through herds of wild Shetland ponies and Scottish highland cattle. In Westerschouwen this area merges seamlessly into the largest forest of Zeeland, "de Domeinen". Along this coastal route you will also find one of the most beautiful mountain bike routes in our country.
The area around Burgh-Haamstede is perfect for long cycling tours through a landscape that is only occasionally seen in the Netherlands. The many quiet little country roads will take you past characteristic villages and allow you to take various safe bike rides.
Burgh-Haamstede is characterized by a number of famous sights such as the "Slot Haamstede" from the thirteenth century. Today the castle belongs to the Natural Monuments Foundation and is only accessible under supervision.
In addition, one of the highest lighthouses in the Netherlands is located in the immediate vicinity of Burgh-Haamstede. The red and white striped "western light gates" have a height of fire of no less than 58 metres above sea level. Did you know that this tower was depicted on the 250 guilder note until the end of 2001?
Apart from this tower there is also a striking tower just outside the village, the so-called "Plompe Toren". This tower is the only remnant of the village of Koudekerke, once situated on Schouwen-Duiveland. The village sank into the sea between the 15th and 17th centuries because of the many floods that hit our land.
Burgh-Haamstede is only 5 kilometres from the world famous Delta Works with the impressive Oosterscheldekering. This storm surge barrier connects the island of Schouwen-Duiveland with the island of Neeltje Jans, where you can visit the family water park of the same name. The Grevelingenmeer north of the island with the Brouwersdam is suitable for active contemporaries, where one can practice many kinds of (water) sport.
In Burgh-Haamstede you will find a large supermarket, a drugstore, a bakery, a bicycle rental and several restaurants. In the adjacent Nieuw-Haamstede there is a glider airfield where you can book an introductory flight for a small amount.
You can also visit the old Dutch towns of Zierikzee, Veere and Middelburg or the seaside resorts of Renesse and Domburg.
