Good morning, dear guests,
we are Steffen and Haike and look forward to welcoming you soon as guests at the Deichsch(l)af.
Are you on holiday and would like to spend the best time of the year in a pleasant atmosphere? Then you have come to the right place! Whether active and sporty or cosy and relaxed, with or without a child - you can feel at home here.
We want the most precious days of the year to be unforgettable for you. You can switch off, come to rest.
A few years ago, our historic thatched courtyard from the first half of the 18th century was renovated with great attention to detail. In 2017, we tackled the former outbuilding and converted it into a lovingly designed and individually furnished guest flat with its own entrance from the car park. With its pleasant size and contemporary comfort of over 85 square metres, it is divided into a living/dining room and a bedroom and has two terraces. The main house and the guest flat are equipped with fire extinguishers and smoke detectors.
In the living/dining room with flat-screen smart TV, there is a chest bench that can be converted into a sofa bed, so that up to two additional persons (children) can sleep here.
The bedroom is equipped with a double bed 1.80 m x 2.00 m (incl. bed linen) and a wicker reading/relaxing couch. (On request, this can be exchanged for a cot and/or baby cot - extra charge)
From here and from the small terrace in front of this window, you have a wide view to the east over fields and wonderful sunrises.
The kitchen is integrated into the open-plan living/dining room. It has an induction cooker with oven, high-quality Silit saucepan set, dishwasher, and a refrigerator with a 3-star freezer compartment and all the necessary trimmings. From the dining area you can access the second terrace with a view of the surrounding gardens and the dyke. For our little guests there are board games, wooden toys, puzzles, books, pencils and various colouring books. A high chair is available. Please do not hesitate to contact us
The bathroom is equipped with a ground-level shower/WC. Towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
The guest flat is suitable for max. 4 persons (2 adults + 2 children + 1 child and/ or 1 baby in the parents' bedroom - extra bed/surcharge). You will find peace and relaxation here and are in the middle of nature, yet not far from the gateway to the world, the port city of Hamburg.
Nothing stands in the way of a relaxing overnight stay and a restful and varied holiday. You are in a holiday region that is well worth seeing - just see for yourself. Roam through the floodplain landscape or visit the metropolis of Hamburg with its diverse cultural offerings or treat yourself to active recreation on foot, by bike or by boat (water sports facilities are available on site).

Location and surroundings of object
This DeichSchlaf guest flat is located directly on the dyke. From your breakfast terrace, you can watch the sheep and lambs. You live here in the countryside, in soothing tranquillity, far from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Nevertheless, the port city of Hamburg is only 40 minutes away by car.
You can make wonderful excursions on foot, by bike or car directly from the guest flat. The area is very rural - surrounded by meadows and wide fields. You can observe countless animals and birds, spend time along the Krückau or the Elbe. In short, you are in a popular holiday region.

Warm and friendly welcome!
A wonderful, we say excellent vacation rental !!!
The apartment corresponds 1:1 to the pictures!
Haike and Steffen Hahn are very warm-hearted and immediately gave us a nice and warm welcome.
Really everything is available that you need for the first day !! Coffee, tea, sugar, etc.
The kitchen in the apartment is excellently equipped.
You can tell from the furnishing of the apartment how much love and passion went into its construction and furnishing!
A well put-together information book for the area (shopping, dining, etc.), the origin of the place and the house.
We will be back !!!

History of the farm A house only lives through its history. The history of our house goes back to the third last century. We are Steffen and Haike and are proud to be able to tell this story and to contribute to its continuation. Hidden behind an imposing courtyard driveway and old deciduous trees is this old courtyard ensemble from the first half of the 18th century (1724) with its associated dyke. A few years ago, the historic reed-roofed courtyard was completely renovated and since 2017, with great attention to detail, the outbuilding, which over the centuries served partly as a ribbon-cutting mill, fruit store, grocer's shop until 1900, stable and workshop, has been given a new lease of life - your guest flat. In order to preserve the original character of the courtyard and the view, we have combined the old with the new. For example, the old stable windows were refurbished and reintegrated into the guest flat.
