We spent our honeymoon in March 2013 in the beautiful house on Lake Garda. The house, furnished in a romantic country style, is very well equipped with everything that is necessary. The view of Lake Garda right after waking up is simply fantastic. The beautiful garden invites you to linger. We never had a problem with parking.

However, we would not go there with very small children because the house has many stairs.

It is worth a trip to Verona and/or Venice.

We were surprised by a particularly pleasant holiday home. Not only was the arrival well detailed, a homely atmosphere awaited us despite the rainy weather.

The location of the house is excellent, the furnishings well thought out, the garden enchanting. Unfortunately, we could only enjoy it a little. But we were compensated by the view from the bedroom window, which I already miss.

The generous, yet cozy ground floor of the house houses the dining room next to the kitchen and provides access to a surprisingly large, enchanted garden. On several levels, one can stroll through the brick pillars that once supported the roof structure of the orangery, or relax on one of the terraces - sometimes in the shade, sometimes in the sun - without anyone from outside being able to peek in. The garden also offers a cozy barbecue area. Sleeping accommodations are on the first and second floors. However, the stairs are a bit steep. Next to each tastefully furnished bedroom with ample storage space, there is a bright bathroom with a window on each floor. The upscale amenities are thoughtfully designed, the mattresses are good, and everything in the kitchen and bathroom is present and works perfectly. You can tell that you are a guest in a house that is regularly used by the owner. The ad did not promise too much, communication with the landlord, key handover went great, everything is squeaky clean. Highly recommended!

The moment you enter this house, the holiday begins, it is lovingly renovated and there is not a corner where you cannot find something beautiful. There are two very beautiful bathrooms, a well-equipped, charming kitchen, a very cozy dining area. The garden is paradise-like and invites you to linger, a small terrace where you can eat, sit, or lie down and enjoy the sun. The location is very central, everything can be reached on foot, whether you want to go to a restaurant or shop, the harbor is small and very romantic, even at the nearby beach, it is wonderful to lie under olive trees or enjoy the most beautiful view of the lake from the terrace with an Aperol Spritz. There have already been some great cycling tours around the lake.

In Gargnano, the Mediterranean flair of the southern lake meets the rugged mountains of the north. Of course, Gargnano has not escaped tourism, but in the cafes and restaurants around the picturesque harbor, the Italian atmosphere predominates, and most of the shops in the square and picturesque streets are primarily geared towards the needs of the local residents. An old, shady olive grove, just a few steps from the town center, houses the public (free!) beach. Here, locals and tourists share the spacious lawn with plenty of natural shade and the cozy bar with a lakeside terrace.

In Gargnano, things are still authentic, the tourist is a welcome guest, but the place undoubtedly functions without tourism. After staying in different vacation rentals, we finally found our "home base" in this beautiful town this year with Limonaia Dosso, which we will surely visit more often.

The Limonaia is located in a stylishly renovated old house in a small alley, slightly on a slope, but still in the middle of town, so you can easily walk to get bread (and the first espresso at the harbor bar) in 4 minutes in the morning. In the evening, the bar for the 'aperitivo' on the lakeside promenade and the restaurant are easily reachable on foot.

On several levels, one can stroll through the brick columns that once supported the roof structure of the Limonaia, or relax on one of the terraces - sometimes in the shade, sometimes in the sun - without anyone from the outside being able to peek in. The garden also offers a cozy barbecue area. Sleeping accommodations are on the first and second floors. The staircase is made of iron and wood.

We, a family of 4, stayed for the second time in this great holiday home. We chose it because of its central yet quiet location in Gargnano and the hardly visible, enclosed, beautiful garden.

The house offers everything necessary for a relaxing family holiday.

The landlords are very nice, attentive, and accommodating. We will gladly come back.

A very cozy, well-kept house in a great location on the outskirts of town: quiet and undisturbed, but still within walking distance to the lake. Very tasteful decor, huge kitchen-living room with access to the garden, a beautiful bedroom upstairs with (some) lake view, nice owners/landlords, full equipment in kitchen and bathroom, etc. But the most beautiful part is definitely the large garden overgrown with vines and the various terraces for breakfast, relaxation, and reading. You feel comfortable here!

Hidden gem, very stylish and well-maintained Limonaia, enchanting garden

We were here for the umpteenth time in this wonderful Limonaia. A truly great place. You open the door and find yourself in the very inviting, spacious kitchen with a large dining table. From here, you go to the first and second floors, where sleeping happens. Two bathrooms, both very nice. From the kitchen, you can also access the garden. Beautiful terrace, idyllic garden, here you can spend the day well if you don't want to go to the lake (about a 7-minute walk away). Actually, this place is a hidden gem that shouldn't be revealed, but now it's happened.

I took the effort to give a review, but for that, I would need to register, which I do not want to do.

Here is my review text for information, so it was not completely in vain.

We, as a family with two older children and a dog, had a lovely time in the Limonaia. We especially enjoyed the fantastic garden with many seating areas. The location is perfect as everything can be reached on foot, the beach at Fontanelle (6 minutes walk), the port with restaurants and shopping opportunities. The car can be parked for free on a separate property, we only used it for excursions. It was also a dream vacation for our dog, the steep hiking trail started behind the house and had great views while hiking. In the house, there is a steep staircase that can be walked easily. In the attic, there is a great new bed and a wonderful view of the lake and the garden. However, we missed insect screens on the windows, as it is very hot under the roof and one wants to ventilate at night without getting bitten. On the 1st floor, our children slept, the shade of the fig tree made this room nice and cool, but insect screens would also be useful there. The contact with the landlord worked very well and quickly, and we were already informed about many things in advance. We felt very comfortable. We chose the house in Gargnano because of its central but tranquil location, as well as the secluded, beautiful garden that offers privacy.

The house can accommodate up to six people comfortably and is furnished with everything you need for a relaxing stay.

The information in the advertisement and the information provided by the landlord in personal conversation are exact. We booked very last minute and therefore relied on quickly clarifying open questions. This worked out excellently with the landlord over the phone and WhatsApp. Also, during our stay, we had contact several times. The kitchen is very well equipped, everything is there. The garden is simply fantastic. We unfortunately did not have time to try out all the seating options in one week. It is also perfect for dog owners, as it is completely surrounded by thick walls and no dog in the world can leave this garden unlawfully. Playing with the dog though "roundabout" on the upper and lower level of the garden is easily possible. The bathrooms are very nice. The beds (pull-out couch) on the 1st floor are a bit hard. Everything was very clean. We will definitely come back. We really liked the town of Gargnano because you can buy everything within walking distance (fresh bread rolls can be obtained in 5 minutes) and it feels much less touristy than other places on Lake Garda. Nevertheless, you can find everything there. Be sure to try the fishmonger at the harbor. For dog lovers: dog beach in Toscolano-Maderno at the paper mill, 10 minutes by car.

As a family with two older children and a dog, we had a wonderful time at the Limonaia. We especially enjoyed the great garden with its many seating options. The location is perfect as everything is within walking distance, the beach at Fontanelle (6 minutes on foot), the harbor with the restaurants and bars (10 minutes on foot), and the town center with shops and more dining options (15 minutes on foot).

Lovingly renovated, comfortable house with a great garden. The lakeshore is within walking distance in a few minutes; however, the home is not suitable for people with walking difficulties! The path to the house is steep and the stairs inside the house are as well.

The landlords are very friendly and helpful. In the house, you will find everything your heart desires. The weather at the end of September/early October was simply fantastic. We felt very comfortable (dog Harry was also thrilled ;-)) and would love to come back in the future.

The Limonaia Dosso is a dreamlike property in one of the most beautiful locations on Lake Garda. The pictures are not - as so often - retouched. It really looks exactly like that. The equipment in the house and especially in the kitchen is complete - not a given in Italy. The landlords were extremely warm and helpful in advance and during the holiday. The entire process was perfect.

We will definitely come back.

Anytime again. Very helpful and informative landlords. Also, swimming in Gargnano is a must! Beach under olive trees. Not a tourist hotspot! Authentic place and wonderful Limonaia!
