Le Portal Neuf, a cosy holiday home with a roof terrace, situated on a quiet street in the village of Bizanet. Practically no traffic passes by here. There are 3 bedrooms on the ground floor (one double, one with lits-jumeaux and one single). There is a large bathroom with bath/shower and washbasin, and a washing machine. The toilet is separate. Via the wooden staircase you reach the open living room with dining area. Here you will also find the kitchen (with fridge-freezer, microwave and electric cooker) and the 13m² terrace, as well as a guest toilet.
The living room is very spacious, with a cosy atmosphere due to the wooden beamed ceiling. It is equipped with a sofa bed and two armchairs, as well as a TV (currently only English-language programmes) and DVD player. The dining area has a large table for 6 people. Both the living room and the kitchen have large patio doors leading outside.
This house can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people.
Parking is available about 50 m from the house, next to the 'lavoir` (wash house).
The holiday home, originally built of old stones and recently renovated, is located in the cosy village of Bizanet, between Narbonne and Lézignan-Corbières, in the department of Aude. The location is ideal for exploring the region. Spain is only a 45-minute drive away and the medieval ramparts of Carcassonne can be seen after half an hour's drive.

The Languedoc is located in the southwest of France, on the Mediterranean Sea with its beautiful beaches and bordering Spain. This area, also known as 'Midi', is spoiled with more than 2000 hours of sunshine per year, more than anywhere else in France. The Languedoc is sometimes referred to as 'the forgotten Rivièra'. This coast offers a good alternative to the more luxurious area around St Tropez and Cannes further east.
The Languedoc has an interesting historical past; first through the occupation of the Romans - traces of this culture can still be found everywhere - then followed by many other conquerors. From Hannibal to the Wisigoths, they have marked this area.
The history of the Cathars, a religious movement massacred by order of Pope Innocentius III, is also closely linked to this area. you will often see signs here saying 'In the footsteps of the Cathars'.
The Languedoc also shares part of its history with Spain, so the far south is also called 'Catalan France'. Many people here have Spanish ancestors.

Cancellation terms:
- In general the deposit that has been paid in advance will not be refunded between the date of reservation and six weeks prior to arrival date. From 6 weeks till 3 weeks before the arrival date 65% of the total rent will be due. From 3 weeks before the arrival date the total amount of the rental price will be payable.
