All our experience from the past years helped us to create this wonderful Panteao II apartment. The result will overwhelm you. You can enjoy original design classics from different epochs in a carefully restored high-quality apartment where modern comfort combines perfectly with elements from the past. The spacious private balcony offers you a breathtaking panoramic view to the Tagus River.

The amazing apartment is located in a building from the 1920s. In the entrance of the apartment and in one of the bedrooms we managed to restore original wall paintings from the 1920s. Antique elements like restored crystal door knobs and Art Deco lamps from the 1930s combine perfectly with elegant design classics like the Artemide lamps in the bedroom. One of the bedrooms offers you a small balcony from which you can enjoy a beautiful view to the Tagus River immediately after waking up. The bright and comfortable open space living room and kitchen is completely equipped. Two modern and stylish bathrooms, one of them with two washbasins and both with spacious showers, offer you a lot of comfort during your stay. High-quality wooden floors and high ceilings with original stucco underline the elegant atmosphere in the apartment. The highlight of the apartment is the spacious balcony where you can enjoy the end of an exciting day in Lisbon with a glass of wine and a breathtaking view to the river and the passing cruise liners and to the famous Santa Engracia church.

Upon arrival you receive the apartment key from Lena or Bruno. They will be waiting for you at the apartment.

Location and surroundings of object

The Santa Engracia quarter is located in the Eastern part of Lisbon’s old town which has not been discovered by mainstream tourism yet. Due to its location on a hill and near the water, the neighbourhood offers its visitors beautiful views to the Tagus River and the big ships that slowly pass by. You can enjoy an authentic and typical Portuguese quarter. In our main road, Rua Magalhaes, “Senhor Cardoso” cooks delicious homemade Portuguese cuisine. Just in front of the restaurant, you can buy everything you need in Senhor Graciano’s little grocery store.

We can recommend you to visit Museu da Agua in our quarter, the historic Water Museum with an old garden park and benches to relax in front of it. The famous baroque cathedral Santa Engracia is easy to reach on foot, just like the famous surrounding quarters Alfama, Graca and Sao Vicente with their Fado restaurants and typical bars and shops. From the bus stop at Rua Washington right in front of the building you will reach Lisbon’s central quarter Baixa within 15 minutes by bus. Santa Apolonia metro station is just 10 walking minutes away.

additional information about rental price:

The total amount is for 2 persons. Each further person is charged at EUR per night (max. 6 persons). Children up to 9 years of age are charged at EUR per night.

One-time cleaning fee: 2 persons EUR, each further person EUR. Towels and bed-linen are provided. Electricity, gas and water are included.

As of January 1st 2016 a tourist tax charged by Lisbon City Council becomes payable upon arrival. It is EUR per person (over the age of 13) per night, up to a maximum of EUR.

Cancellation terms:

When booking we kindly ask you for a deposit. This amount shall constitute the cancellation fee incurring for cancellations within 30 days from the start of the rental period. If you cancel your booking less than 14 days before the beginning of the rental period and we cannot find a substitute, the cancellation fee shall be the complete rental fee.

1991 marks the beginning of a very happy Portuguese-German relationship that started in Berlin during our three-year training to become travel agents. After successfully completing the training, we spent several years gaining valuable experience at specialist travel agencies in Berlin and Lisbon. Eight years later, we took one of our Lisbon friends up on his offer to buy his apartment in Lapa. Having renovated as well as having carefully decorated and furnished the apartment, we regularly spent the winter months in Lisbon with our young daughter. During this time, we developed a keen interest in historic building features, design objects and the restoration of antiques.

Many friends and guests visited our apartment, which prompted us to consider expanding. In 2005, we were able to buy a house in the old town district of São Vicente / Alfama from our former pharmacist Senhor Pereira who had recently retired. Once again, we put a lot of effort into renovating and furnishing four new apartments over a period of two years.

This became a tremendous success giving us the opportunity to turn what we love into a profitable business. We have been offering our lovingly restored and furnished apartments to our guests since January 2007 – with excellent feedback. Our highly-motivated team based in Berlin and Lisbon is committed to giving you the best holiday experience possible. All our apartments are carefully selected. New apartments are only accepted onto our website if everything meets all of our requirements. All photos are taken and descriptions are written exclusively by us. From our first vision up until today, our business has come a long way and we are proud to say that, as of 2017, as many as 18 Portuguese families can live from it. We believe this is the epitome of sustainable and fair tourism.

We are looking forward to offering you beautiful and carefully-selected new apartments in Lisbon in 2017. Using our vast experience, we furnish and decorate the majority of the apartment ourselves.
