Description
2 bedrooms, (1 with terrace and view of the Bodden) 2 bathrooms, wood-burning stove, open gallery
Renovated farmhouse half on Rügen, built approx. 1840 with water view. The house has been carefully renovated to a high standard in recent years, with the emphasis on individuality and value. It was important that despite the modern and open design, the connection to a historical building was preserved. In addition to open beams, it has an open gallery. The bathrooms are designed with natural stone (Brazilian slate) and fitted with Philippe Starck sanitary objects. The walls are partially lined with clay bricks and finished with clay or high-quality mineral plaster, and the insulation was done exclusively with hemp. The bright and sun-flooded house has wooden parquet floors, in the kitchen a historic brick flooring. A steel staircase made of raw iron with rustic wooden flooring leads to an open gallery with reading corner and secretary with a beautiful view over the wide fields landscape. The second bedroom on the upper floor with roof terrace exit can be reached via the gallery, where you can enjoy the view all the way to the Bodden. The farmhouse half stands on a natural garden plot of approx. 2000 sqm with adjoining fields. In the garden, you can enjoy the rustling leaves of a 170-year-old elm tree and enjoy picking cherries, pears, apples or blackberries, depending on the season
In autumn and spring, the large flocks of wild geese and cranes can be observed directly from the terrace or garden
Deck chairs are available for you to use in the sunny garden, and bicycle storage facilities are also available. (Bicycles can be rented cheaply from the farmer Lange) The house was rented out for the first time in the last weeks of July 2014
Please note: In the high season, the minimum stay is 7 days! However, if you see gaps in the calendar, please just ask

Location and surroundings of object
The property is very quiet and close to nature, approx. 300 metres from the Kubitzer Bodden/Fokker Strom, with an unobstructed wide view of the fields and Bodden. The municipality of Ummanz, to which Mursewiek belongs, is located directly at the National Park Vorpommerische Boddenlandschaft with a grandiose and unspoilt nature. You will enter the terrace from the bedroom and feel part of this nature.
Cross a bridge at Waase, about 800 metres from the farmhouse, to reach the idyllic Ummanz peninsula. Immediately after the bridge you come to the district of Waase with a small fishing harbour. Here you can also rent boats. A few metres further on, you will reach a small bathing area. On Ummanz, a kitesurfing area awaits you with a view as far as the island of Hiddensee. (Families with children especially love the natural beach with its shallow water in the district of Suhrendorf with a view as far as the island of Hiddensee. Also ideal for children are the many opportunities at the Lange adventure farm in Lieschow, about 1000 metres away. Here children can bake bread, ride on tractors, take part in many activities and watch rabbits, chickens and chicks as well as pigs and piglets. Barbecues with extensive buffets are held here regularly. The farmer still bakes the bread here himself and you can buy freshly baked bread and of course the corresponding rolls in his farm shop every day. Eggs, homemade jams and home-grown vegetables are offered here fresh every day. Not to forget the green and white asparagus that is still available here until late in the season
For nature lovers, Ummanz offers a variety of bird species. The birds of happiness gather here in large crane resting places, you can watch them from close up in special shelters.
Pedal boats, rowing boats, motor boats can be rented in Waase, bicycles can be rented in Waase or from the farmer Lange, with which you can make unforgettably beautiful round trips on and around Ummanz. Various cafés with direct water views invite you to linger. Interesting carriage rides can be booked at the Haflinger stud farm on Ummanz
You can reach the very beautiful village of Gingst via newly laid cycle paths in about 6 kilometres. Here you will find various shopping facilities, an organic food shop and a pottery. A very well-stocked library with regular readings in the renovated market house by the church offers you enough "reading fodder" for days at the beach or by the fireplace. Several restaurants (my tip: tarte flambée in the 'Alte Post') and a beautiful market square with historic buildings add to the charm of this village. (Has already been awarded several times as the most beautiful village of Rügen)
For many visitors to Rügen, the Störtebecker Festival on a natural stage on the Bodden near Ralswiek is already a "must", whatever the weather. Make sure you get your tickets in good time. You can reach the natural stage in about 15 kilometres. From Schaprode you can take a day trip to the island of Hiddensee and then stop for refreshments at the truly remarkable 'Alte Schule' fish restaurant in Schaprode. (my special culinary tip: the fish soup !)... ....and if it's the seemingly endless long sandy beaches and seaside resorts you're after: Binz, Sellin leave nothing to be desired here, Putgarten and the long fine sandy beaches from Juliusruh (where you will still find a nice spot even in high season) can also be combined with the use of the Wittow ferry
On a longer stay, be sure to plan a trip to the lovely and lively Swedish city of Malmö with its countless little cafés. Lovers of Scandinavian design can find new inspiration in the many small and larger shops here, or purchase one or two pieces directly. Malmö can be reached several times a day via a four-hour car ferry connection across the Baltic Sea from Saßnitz, but you can also do without the car and be ferried on foot (bus connection to the city centre available) or by bicycle. After an excursion in the most beautiful and spirited city in southern Sweden, you will be happy to return to the peace and beauty of the Bodden landscape of West Ruegen.

Holiday in the Historic Farmhouse
The house has been lovingly restored. Old substance has been preserved and the new tastefully added. There is plenty of space and absolute tranquillity. The island of Rügen in all its diversity can be wonderfully experienced from here.
The handover of the keys is uncomplicated, the landlord can be reached at any time and the welcome is warm.

A beautiful house, pure relaxation and well-being
What a lovingly and high-quality designed house with a soothing and very cozy atmosphere! In addition to that, the beautiful garden with fruit trees and many comfortable seating options. The description of the house is 100% accurate and exceeded our expectations. The wonderfully quiet location surrounded by nature and Bodden brings pure relaxation. We enjoyed incredibly beautiful three weeks and also got to know the enormous variety of the island with the many good tips from the very warm and helpful landlord. For us, the house and the surroundings have become a place of longing where we would like to return.

Mr. A. Pohlmann
Welcome to Mursewiek20, We have carefully renovated the old farmhouse from 1840 to a high standard over several years. We have tried to preserve the old style elements to a large extent, but still modern and equipped with all amenities. I love old houses, the history that can be sensed. I hope you will be as enthusiastic about the house as I am. Kind regards
