Bed linen, towels and kitchen towels are to be brought along.

Lauwersmeer: Approximately 10 km from Wierum, we have the Lauwersmeer, a beautiful approx. 50 square km freshwater lake, which was separated from the sea in 1969, with free bathing beaches on the east and west side. On the east side also with separate dog beach. The three places on the lake, Lauwersoog with ferry to the island of Schiermonnikoog and fishing port with several fish restaurants, Zoutkamp and Oostmahorn are, each in its own way, very worth seeing ..
Cities: Then of course the historical Dokkum, 10 km south and yet the northernmost city of Holland and Leeuwarden, 3o km south-west as well as Groningen, 50 km south-east, all with magnificent canals, squares, pedestrian zones and plenty of sights.
And much more, as described in our housebook on site.
Islands: Approximately 10 km west and east are the ferry terminals to the islands Ameland in Holwerd and the island Schiermonnekoog in Lauwersoog. Both have miles of sandy beaches.
You can see both islands, by the way, from the dike in Wierum.

Location and surroundings of object
In the old, idyllic fishing village of Wierum, with the neighboring village of Moddergat the only village on the 130 km long north sea coast between the Dollart and Harlingen directly on the north shore of the Wattenmeer World Natural Heritage Site, 10 km north of the picturesque Dokkum and 10 km west of the magnificent Lauwersmeer (large freshwater lake with free Bathing beaches in front of the fishing port Lauwersoog) in Friesland, Holland you will find our cozy, small Frisian house "Wattkoje". Far away from bigger road trips, clean and healthy sea air is still self-evident. In the semi-circle of 15 km you can cá. 20 rustic small villages with the free bicycles available. You can also see everything on the map above using Google Streetview, or go to Google 'vvv in Lauwersland yumpu'. There you will find 32 pages description of the surrounding area in German language.
Other activities: cycling, bathing at Lauwersmeer, wading, boat trips, surfing, sightseeing.
Bicycles of all sizes, also for young people and children are available free of charge.

Satellite TV only with German channels only. There are plenty of bicycles in all sizes, also for youngsters and children as well as garden furniture and barbeque in the garden shed free of charge. A bicycle is equipped with a child seat. Wi-Fi in the bedrooms on the upper floor and outside. On the EC the signal is too weak. WLAN also on request in the café next door; comfortable and undisturbed even without consumption. There you can sit undisturbed from 16: oo. (Closed on Monday)

Beautiful but
I was there for a few days and it is a small and quaint house ...
What bothered me was that it was not so clean and the cleaner only came when I was already in the house...and then wanted to start cleaning...I did not find that ok
Furthermore, the cooker was in a miserable condition and did not work ..
the landlord sent an electrician but .....

Goede prijs/prestatie, leuk gezellig (voor)huisje
We waren 5 dagen in het huisje aan de voorkant. Alles pikobello. Het huisje past bij Wierum en zijn mooie omgeving. Eenvoudig maar schoon en gezellig. De fietsen waren meer dan voldoende voor een trip naar Dokkom (totaal 30 km) en Anjum (totaal 25 km).

Perfecte ligging
Wij waren 10 dagen in het achterhuis van het Waddenhuis. Perfect, want het achterhuis heeft een fijne, ruime tuin. Het is een gezellig huisje, met een aantal originele elementen, zoals een bedstee. Daarnaast is het 2 minuutjes lopen naar de dijk en de Waddenzee. Dat vond ik het allermooiste. Kortom, een plekje waar we wel weer terug naar toe willen.
Ps: aangezien in mijn eerdere beoordeling de sterren verkeerd ingetoetst waren, heb ik deze nieuwe beoordeling geschreven. Dat verdient dit plekje namelijk.

Booking and contact with the landlord quickly and smoothly. The house is fully equipped and was comfortably warm, clean and perfectly prepared upon arrival. Nothing was missing.
We felt very very comfortable in this nice, cozy and pretty little house. Like a second home!
